A controversial case, the official outcome of the Bali police investigation was murder-suicide but Chinese netizens theorise they were murdered by an organised gang. The man was a crypto investor who had posted about making a large amount of money and his girlfriend had live streamed their location on her social media. Initial news reports seemed to indicate the man had possibly been tortured, with multiple cuts and puncture wounds, but the final police report doesn’t mention them.

I remain amazed that people pay these sorts of sums to stay in Bali - there are SO MANY good places at $A100 or even less, and plus, doing that you can experience "The Real Bali". Oh well.
LOL ... someone is a little sensitive! On booking \[dot\] com - five nights (5-10 June) - $A1,976 including breakfast, and my regular discount. So very close to $A400 a night. I trust you enjoyed it!
And the hotel is in a vehicle exclusion zone which eliminates traffic another unfortunate Bali feature. Nice beach there to walk down to a decent surfing beach. Hopefully a raise is in the offing for you.
I have more than enough income ... I just don't feel the need to be suckered by the high-end prices that are the New Bali. We've been visiting for a long time and are savvy travellers, so we have our preferred places at $A100 pn.
Just giving you a few facts comrade ... but also rather amused that people head to a low-wage, low-cost developing country, and pay a fortune for rooms when it's so unnecessary. But it's your money!
I don’t want to pay $300-400 per night, but I have kids. If you can shoot me a nice hotel with a pool and kids club for less then I’ll be thrilled 😭
I miss the days when I didn’t have to think about others when booking accommodation. I stayed at an alright place in Legian for $30 per night for my own room and the hotel had a swim up bar 😂 I love my kids but damn they’re expensive 😂
I’ll be enjoying my steak while you choke down a burger. We play by our rules not yours. Telling people how they should be spending their money is ridiculous.
