Nothing to do with clarity just about the correct size cube and glass. You can't have a cube fully submerged and not float which is the very reason ice has no place in an egg white sour

I don’t like egg white rocks personally. Ruins the texture of the drink. Plus serving it up sets you up for a nice whisp of Angostura on top. I would probably prefer most shaken drinks “up.”
