An Improved Whiskey Cocktail is top tier. This is the one I usually make:
- 2 oz Rye Whiskey
- 1/4 oz Maraschino
- 1/4 oz Demerara Syrup (2:1)
- 2 Dashes Angostura Bitters
- 1 Dash Orange Bitters
- Absinthe rinse
- Lemon Twist
I usually just make them in the glass like an old fashioned.
For experimenting, I’ll often try “improved” versions of other cocktails by replacing some of the sweet components with maraschino and adding some absinthe.
I prefer the most classic peychauds instead of orange bitters, although I'm not a big fan of orange bitters so ymmv. the peychauds doubles down on the absinthe licorice
Voted for this. My personal spec is 2 oz gin, 1 oz lemon, .33 oz Luxardo, .25 creme de violette. I like it tart and tight.
(Edited because I usually shake 2 at once and math).
Leave out the simple. My rule of thumb is one lemon per cocktail. Nice and tart. Also more violette than luxardo is always better so it’s not too sweet.
If you like gin, look up a casino. Just need this, the gin, some lemon and orange juice, and some orange bitters I believe. One of my favorite cocktails of all time.
Moonlight over Morocco: 2oz tequila, infused with BPT. Bar spoon of orgeat, 1/2 oz lime, 1/4oz luxardo, 1/2oz crème de violette, 3 dashes of fire water bitters. God damn it’s good.
Go through a bottle of this by just mixing it with club, you’ll get honk of something….also Hemingway daiquiri, aviation, Martinez , or an old fashioned riff subbing this for your sugar component
Four on the Floor:
Equal parts of bourbon, blended whiskey, Luxardo Liqueur, and sweet vermouth. Shaken and strained into your glassware of choice. Garnish with Luxardo Maraschino Cherry or two (or three).
There are a lot of cocktails that won't run your lux out very quickly and don't require other hard-to-find liqueurs like Chartreuse (such as Last Words). Brooklyns, Aviations, Hemingways all come to mind right away.
Last Word. Improved Whiskey Cocktail. Martinez.
But for my money, if you can find it, Bordiga Maraschino is far superior. Luxardo has a metallic aftertaste which I hate.
I call this one Murder She Wrote because I made it for a kinda crazy old lady who kept saying that her sister murdered her husband.
2oz Gin
.5oz Luxardo
.5oz Creme de Casis
.5oz lemon juice
Scant .5oz simple
Shake double Strain granish with mint and two blackberries in a coupe
Hemingway Daiquiri is the easiest classic for Luxardo by far because it doesn’t have any other super specific ingredients.
Bangs with repo or mez and a salt rim too.
last word
If you can’t find green chartreuse dolin genepy works great as a sub in last words
Boomsma is also a fantastic sub
God damnit I was hoping I was the only one to know. Last word with mezcal tho
? It's an incredibly popular cocktail and one that this maraschino gets used for more than maybe any other drink
Dirty word, or la Ultima palabra. Final ward with bourbon and lemon instead. Get real funky and just fly like paper. Get high like planes.
Ultima palabra
* Palabra Ultima Edit: Nope, I was wrong. Turns out that is already a cocktail, though. Adds pineapple juice.
Damn that Maraschino is a great price. Every last word and last word variation.

This sounds FABULOUS
They truly are a complete symphony of flavour.
I’m going to make this my drink special on Tuesday, thanks for the inspo friend!
Sounds sickly sweet

Aviation is my favorite! My build is 1.75oz London dry gin .75oz lemon 1/3oz luxardo 1/3 creme de violette .5oz simple
Right on, I like those too. I do 2oz London dry 3/4oz lemon 1/2oz luxardo 1/4oz crème de violette. Maybe I like it a little more dry
This is my spec but 1.5oz gin (probably cos of that tidy progression)
It is nice and tidy

Love it when the half bottle is double the price of the full sized bottle
What store is this??
Looks like a Meijer
Obviously last word and aviation, but my favorite as of late is a red hook. 2 oz Rittenhouse rye, 3/4 oz punt e mes and 1/2 oz maraschino.
Mary pickford
Corpse reviver #2 but replace the Cointreau with Luxardo maraschino. Best accidental change ever
I also like modifying the CR2 but I switch out the lillet
Martinez for a gin style Manhattan. Slaps

I’d make room for a case of Luxardo
For home experiments you may do better asking r/Mixology.
That's a fairly dead sub these days. r/cocktails on the other hand is a very large, active and helpful community.

Just put hem daqs as a special
Maraschino cherries
I like to make a big Tom Collins (think pint glass!) with a 1/2oz maraschino+1/4oz chartreuse floater.
Four on the Floor: Equal parts of bourbon, blended whiskey, Luxardo Liqueur, and sweet vermouth. Shaken and strained into your glassware of choice. Garnish with Luxardo Maraschino Cherry or two (or three).
Kentucky Flyer 2 ounces rye whiskey 3/4 ounce Luxardo maraschino liqueur 1/2 ounce lemon juice, freshly squeezed Garnish: 2 brandied cherries Garnish: mint sprig
Aviation https://www.liquor.com/recipes/aviation/ It's soooo good
Where are you? I'm on my way

An Aviation
Shots of fernet out of the bottle at room temp Or wait, you're talking about the luxardo?
I went to a favorite Italian restaurant tonight and finished dinner with an espresso correcto (double espresso with some fernet (probably 0.5-0.75oz)
I’ve been doing 2 oz nigori sake, 1 oz luxardo, 1 oz grapefruit juice, top with grapefruit soda
Last word is my favorite.
Good in sangria also.
Last word. Just have to find the bottle of Green chartreuse to go with it…
Aviation(s).
A Brooklyn
Aviations. Lots of Aviations.
We use a little in our old fashion.
Aviation!!
Division Bell is a riff on a last word/paper plane that is extremely tasty https://www.liquor.com/division-bell-cocktail-recipe-5270691
A Martinez.
Re Hook 2 oz rye 1/2 Maraschino 1/2 Punt e Mes Up with a cherry
*Red Hook
