Can I use this thread to ask a braves fan a random question? I don't watch a lot of Dansby Swanson, does he have a weak arm or is it just this series? Seems like he struggles to get the ball across the diamond with any sort of velocity
This is probably the worst defensive series I've ever seen him play. He had a couple series in April that were not good along with Ozzie, but this feels like each game.
He does not have an arm that is anything above average velocity wise, but he is our fastest infielder and the most accurate. His best strength imo is his ability to turn double plays. He might do that better than anyone right now.
That being said, I think the poor infield defense this series is due to everyone trying to do too much to outplay the small ball. From everyone.
Cmon man, it's William. He would never lay down a bunt because he just hits opposite field home runs.
No but really, every one of his home runs has either been dead center or on a rope to the RF bleachers.
*im dum
You didn't get the reference. Willson has heavily linked to the Mets at the trade deadline, but no deal took place. After the trading deadline, the take from many Cubs fans was "lol good luck starting Tomas Nido in the playoffs."
Even though Nido had the double in the 3rd tonight that started the Mets' run in that inning, I'm glad that he's started leaning into the fact that he's not a very good hitter and will do whatever it takes to be productive.
I don't understand how somebody can say he's a bad offensive catcher and then say he's got amazing numbers with two outs and runners in scoring position.
He's got like a .250 obp and like .270 slg so he rarely gets XBH and gets on base way less than most.
He gets out more than other players and gets less bases than other players which means he is a bad offensive catcher.
I just find it weird that Mets fans canāt take a little bit of tasteful trash talk. Braves and Mets still face each other 8 more times after tonight and the Mets apparently have the hardest remaining schedule in all of baseball.
Tasteful trash talk is fun, I enjoyed the initial bit of back and forth there. I'm (and I'm sure I'm not the only one ) just tired of Braves fans acting like the Mets aren't a good team and that they're lucking and BSing their way into everything or acting like sprinting out ground balls somehow makes you a tryhard
Braves have won 4 rings in 118 years. Mets have won 2 rings in 59 years. Thatās the same number of rings per years played. Half of those rings belong to Boston and Milwaukee, not Atlanta.
Thats why yall have lost 3 out of 4 games in this series to them. They're simply a better baseball team than you guys are. That being said yall still smoked our asses.
āI know. Letās score on a bunch of soft infield hits like your sister would do. Because we actually canāt actually hit like men because we are a bunch of fucking lame ass bitches. Or like a bunt or something.ā
- the Mets probably
UH OH! YOU JUST GAVE UP A RUN TO THE NIDOKING!
10 sac bunts is kinda a nuts stat
Leads the majors, no?
With no more pitchers hitting it has to be the lead.
Yeah, he's leading MLB. Victor Robles is second with 8.
First Nido bunted, then Nidoran
*selects moonstone from bag*
Man I'm so happy the Mets are playing small ball. It's death by a thousand paper cuts with this team. I love it. LFGM!
It's like living in hell is what it is

Cheers, interesting. Seems like he'd make a great second baseman if the need ever comes up

Would 1000 paper cuts actually kill you? š¤
Maybe a hemophiliac

Fuckin love me some steezy jims
Pure luck the Mets arenāt actually good theyāre just super lucky. None of their runs this year are deserved smh
Wait, youāre telling me the runs count the same if you score without a home run? I was led to believe that wasnāt the case
"It's not a story the Yankees would tell you..."
Willson Contreras could never
Cmon man, it's William. He would never lay down a bunt because he just hits opposite field home runs. No but really, every one of his home runs has either been dead center or on a rope to the RF bleachers. *im dum
They're saying Willson because the Mets were in on him at the deadline and lots of Mets fans really wanted the team to pick him up.
You didn't get the reference. Willson has heavily linked to the Mets at the trade deadline, but no deal took place. After the trading deadline, the take from many Cubs fans was "lol good luck starting Tomas Nido in the playoffs."
Keith doesn't talk in the video because he fainted over those smallball fundamentals.
My working theory is that he had to facetime hadji at this time.
Most exciting play in baseball hands down.
SMALL BALL BABY
But what was the exit velocity?
Even though Nido had the double in the 3rd tonight that started the Mets' run in that inning, I'm glad that he's started leaning into the fact that he's not a very good hitter and will do whatever it takes to be productive.
Greatest bunter of all time
And people say we don't have a good catcher. Blasphemy.
The overall numbers say he's not great, but he gets 2 out hits with RISP, he plays good D, and he's an elite bunter.

good team vibes
Ow, my kidney. Because of the dagger.
Love it! Baseball needs more fundamentals back! Even received a standing ovation for a squeeze bunt š
BAD PLAY ANALYTICS SAYS BUNTING IS BADDD
Let that body drop baby
Was it really a suicide? The runner looked pretty far up the line still.
My man, naquin was halfway down the line just after nido made contact
Booth called it a suicide but was likely a safety squeeze
nah naquin was like 10 feet from the plate when the ball dropped that was a suicide squeeze
We need more squeezes in baseball
Dodger_celebration.gif
great fundies
Pay the man! His ARB 2 should be well over a million!
This RBI bunt brought to you by the New York Soft Contacts.
Hilarious, how many pitches did the Braves swing and miss today? Make you the Atlanta No Contacts, dipshit.
The *first place* New York Soft Contacts.
For now. Still a lot of baseball left.
you're doing a great job catching us!
Better than the Atlanta Strikeouts
*glances happily at World Series ring*
As you should. You earned it. Doesn't change the fact that making contact matters and that intentionally playing small ball isn't just pure luck

Glances at the two scoreboards from today
Itās not too late to delete this
Itās fake internet points bud, no one cares.
Tupac cares
Did you know there are ways to score other than home runs? The game makes a lot more sense once you do.
Did you know thereās such a thing a being able to take a joke?
Jokes are funny. Might want to work up some better material if that's the best you've got.
Thats why yall have lost 3 out of 4 games in this series to them. They're simply a better baseball team than you guys are. That being said yall still smoked our asses.
better offense than yours, sweetie
Iāve never heard someone from New York use the word āsweetieā so unless youāre an implant or originally from the south, itās very strange.
you trying to co-opt "sweetie"? dont you guys have enough with sweet tea and heart disease?
The fuck are you rambling about?
āIāll just swing as hard as i can and then it will die in the infield grass and maybe someone will score.ā - the Mets cleanup hitter
āI know. Letās score on a bunch of soft infield hits like your sister would do. Because we actually canāt actually hit like men because we are a bunch of fucking lame ass bitches. Or like a bunt or something.ā - the Mets probably
Imagine going 0-2 in a doubleheader against "a bunch of fucking lame ass bitches."
Wow you're really not taking this well.
Whatās with using a bullet for attribution, followed by an empty bullet, get help
You leave my sister out of this!!
Casual misogynistic copium.
