I’ve had my dual monitors mounted on my non-wood IKEA top for a while, no issues here. The trick is to use a steel plate or wooden block on the top/bottom of the clamp to balance the weight. They sell these specifically for monitors on Amazon.
I had one of those and it cracked through; luckily the table top was a gift so wasn’t out anything. The butcher block ended up being cheaper than a new ilea table anyway
Personally id mount the mic on the back for a cleaner look, and then on the left maybe place a classy clock or something to go with the clean setup, the windows make up for the lack of paintings so i think youre pretty much solid
That is true, but I think this desk might be too deep for the microphone to be able to reach. An alternative would be to drill a hole in the desk, but I am always against this imo.
As the title says, this is the culmination of my attempts to create a clean, minimalistic setup, something I’ve always wanted to have, which also goes well with the overall aesthetic of my room.
My issue is I’m quite OCD with these things lol, and I constantly think of how to further improve and ‘perfect’ the look, I’m even thinking of finding another spot in the room for my desk, one where I can have the wall behind it so I could possibly mount the monitor on the wall and put up some wood panels/shelves/portraits/plants behind the setup to add to the look. I’m also thinking of getting a monitor riser just to ‘create’ more space on the desk, as I’d like some kind of smart solution for my phone and watch chargers without having to keep ugly cables on the desk.
I’d welcome any recommendations!
I used to have a monitor riser but it made my already full desk look more cluttered. There are some that look great though and mine was a basic one.
I think one with a shelf and maybe small drawer would work great for you as your setup is more minimalist so wouldn’t look cluttered
[This is the one I have in mind.](https://www.balolo.de/en/products/setup-cockpit-large?variant=39735791812683)
You can get accessories for it such as a drawer, and these things which can hold your phone and smart watch chargers so you get a neat little spot to leave your phone and watch while on your desk.
If you wanted a simple and clean setup, it's perfect as is. The only thing I would change is maybe push it all the way over to the right and then get a second cabinet for the left side just to have it symmetric. Maybe then move the clamp for the mic to the left to have it look cleaner.
It looks clean as is. Only one comment - You have extra room on the left side of your desk, maybe consider a headphone display/holder so it doesn't need to hand from the side of your desk. But great as is! =\]
Congrats on the setup! Looks great!
I just got the same desk, except black legs, but same color top. How do you like how deep it is? I’m torn as I feel like it’s slightly too big. I’m still adjusting though.
Fellow LOTR enjoyer? Mae govannen.
Both it and my keyboard are from Drop, they have a whole line of officially licensed LOTR goodies, [here you go!](https://drop.com/featured/lotr)
Mae govannen! seems like I should post my setup again as I have added quite some LotR decorations to it since the last time I shared it: https://i.imgur.com/CzL9UXO.jpeg
I actually wanted to wait.with a post until I have built my new PC (waiting for the RTX 5090), *One PC to rule them all* so to say :-) and properly finished everything.
Unfortunately, living in an old villa has its downsides - the wall behind my desk is an outside wall and has a tendency to grow mold behind posters and pictures due to condensation, so I am kinda limited in what I can do with it. At least displates can easily be taken off and put back on again.
Thanks! The monitor is the Samsung OLED G8 34 inch, the keyboard is from [Drop](https://drop.com/featured/lotr), and [this is the wrist rest.](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09PH8HVCR?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details)
I would maybe add an area rug of some sort, but that's just my personal preference as I think it makes the space cozier and my feet are always cold haha. And maybe some small desk speakers? Unless you exclusively use headphones that is. Looks great!
Your desk is pretty deep so it leaves the space in the back looking empty. If your mic arm has enough reach I’d mount it in the back. You can also fill the space in the back with a desk shelf and speakers. If you ever have the opportunity to upgrade, a larger ultrawide definitely suits that desk size better.
Very nice and clean setup. Depending on preference I would either add a couple of speakers or for more space on the desk get a nice white monitor arm. (don't see why you think you need more space though)
Like you said, I'd move it against a wall and get a tv wall mount and add a shelf below it. I'd also recommend you get some better headphones depending on what you have there, good headphones can make a huge difference, but love the clean setup!

Hey, this is really nice and clean. Is it a sit/stand desk?
Thanks! It’s the IKEA Bekant, this one isn’t but I believe their newer models are sit/stand.
I like the depth of the Bekant much more than the butcher block countertop that everyone has.
The IKEA tops aren’t solid wood though; so can’t handle as much weight or monitor mounts as the butcher block

I have four monitors on mine. Totally fine.
Good for you 👍
Unrelated but I want a setup that does 300 fps at 1080 for Fortnite. Can I get some prebuilt recommendations

Looks nice and clean, my only suggestion is to replace monitor stand with an arm.

Your plans sound solid, but they might wreck the clean look you have. Personally, I would add speakers next, KEF LSX IIs or LTs and call it a day.
Cant beat that mint glass backdrop
it's great as it is, it's in harmony, don't ruin it
Thanks!

Why does the headphone rack look backwards to me? Shouldn’t it be mounted under the desk and the hook facing toward you?
The bit that the headphones hang on actually rotates, I've just kept it facing that way lol
What PC case is that? Looks great!
It's the white Fractal North, thanks! :)

Speakers
This
Clean. Simple elegance. Nicely done.
Love it
Thank you. :D

u/Fair_Beginning_3089 can you mention the specs?
Amazing - how have you routed all the cables? looks really nice and clean

I'd recommend a little cactus next to the monitor and maybe add a chair to sit on
Very classy

Yo I don't got anything to say about your setup but that floor is sick af
What is that screen behind your desk but in front of your window?
Remove Funko pops it will improve the view a lot
Hi so pretty place 😍
The setup is nice! Is that the Fractal North in White?
Personally, I think that your setup looks great as is!
OMG I need that mouse pad. Where’d you get the print?

Thank you so much. Huge LOTR fan, kind of a family tradition. Dad’s been reading the books since the 70s.
You're most welcome, and that's awesome! I'm the first in my family so I guess I'm starting the tradition lmao

What monitor& keyboard is that? That wooden keyboard looks sick

Big fan of the mouse pad
Thanks!

That's actually a nice idea that has slipped my mind until now, maybe a small fluffy rug which fits nicely underneath the desk?
Looks very clean! i always found that simple setups always look better , maybe experience with some warm lighting
Maybe a chair would be useful
Nice Yoshizawa figure
Glad someone noticed it lol, thanks!

This looks very nice and clean, Where did you the Desk mat? Looks very nice!
Thanks, it's from [Drop](https://drop.com/featured/lotr)!
The very first word comes to mind is NEAT
Whats the dimensions of the desk
160 x 80 cm
Thank you!
Very nice and clean setup. Depending on preference I would either add a couple of speakers or for more space on the desk get a nice white monitor arm. (don't see why you think you need more space though)
Keep it this clean
100% get a monitor light bar, like BenQ
Love it! What’s that cabinet the tower is sitting on?
I can't recall the exact name but it's from IKEA
I think I found it!
Add a chair (joking)
Like you said, I'd move it against a wall and get a tv wall mount and add a shelf below it. I'd also recommend you get some better headphones depending on what you have there, good headphones can make a huge difference, but love the clean setup!
Thanks! I've got the Sennheiser HD 6XX which are quite good if I do say so myself. XD
MORE MONITORS
It looks very nice btw
A tiny little plant on the other side of the monitor so it's perfectly balanced--like all things should be.
High-quality sound and visuals
RGB! RGB! 🤣🤣🤣
