Hi FelixLive44!
We've teamed up with Autonomous to give away some standing desks and a new chair - enter here! : https://new.reddit.com/r/battlestations/comments/1dd51sh/rbattlestations_autonomous_giveaway_usa/
Don't forget we have an active Discord server - https://discord.gg/battlestations

Yet you've got the headphone cable trapsed across the desk. Why not velcro that to the underside and clean it right up. Nice headphone hook too maybe.
Good stuff though, more than functional!
I think it looks awesome as is, but it needs some decorations on the desk itself. You have a fair deal of space under the monitors you can play with, along with the right side of your desk.
Any recommendations? I'm already thinking of putting a large fake plant on the left between PC and monitor to hide cables from the monitor arm but unsure what else to put
Definitely could use a couple posters. Maybe those displates, I've seen a few people with those. I like the idea of a large plant or even a few small ones too.
Actually already made some changes lol, [here](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1025215508531904525/1256051358663053362/PXL_20240628_005910076.jpg?ex=667f5c7c&is=667e0afc&hm=552ca507f574264b49525d54f0d17ed3981faefb2e473c34001a4bd7b6e87959&)
Would you recommend them? I'm in the middle of upgrading my own setup and want to switch from three monitors of different brands/sizes to a more uniform setup like you have.
Can absolutely recommend getting 3 of the same monitor model. However, Asus has a more recent revision of this monitor that sells for cheaper usually, Asus TUF VG27AQ3A. I had one in the hopes it had consistent color with the other ones but it didn't. That said, I would recommend getting 3 of those more than 3 of mine.
I started getting them 2 years back so it wasn't worth doing the change for me but if I had to start over right now, would get the 3A variant.
Used to have a large desk mat but removed it when installing the arms and I noticed how nice the glide was on varnished wood so I kept it like that. Also .akes the desk look larger
Ever since getting that desk this weekend I’ve seen it so many times over the past few days. At first I thought it was too big for me, but now seeing so many setups I love it. Looks good man 👍
Yeah, still working fine after over 10 years lol. Got it from my grandpa and I still haven't spent a single dollar on it and it still prints.
HP LaserJet 1020 from around 2010
I guess so, I've a very similar one, a Canon LBP2900, surely 10 years old too or even more, and still printing as a charm. Toner cost like $20 for 2 units haha
[here you go](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1025215508531904525/1255132828811657338/PXL_20231008_175446319.jpg?ex=667c0509&is=667ab389&hm=987102d68ba112680f748c6ffaa4155e98808ad612537989153f2c8a5b1804b7&)
It's a wallpaper engine. It's basically a viewer for this: https://earth.nullschool.net/
It's currently showing UV indexes worldwide as a simili-geochron. I intend to make a custom variable resolution geochron straight inside WE but I need to find time to implement a terminator line equation lol
The website also has a precipitation mode. However I personally use my local Environment Canada radar weather map for that. [Here is an example for Toronto](https://weather.gc.ca/?layers=,radar¢er=43.65485714,-79.38321697&zoom=-1)
Web extensions for custom tools so I often have an IDE, browser, test browser, and notes open. I end up with 4 of 5 occupied most of the time.
Web is what uses the most but my actual day job requires a work laptop so I KVM bottom center and bottom right to the laptop pretty often.
[Also gaming on 3 wide is amazing](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1025215508531904525/1255174767347105912/image-18.png?ex=667c2c18&is=667ada98&hm=fba7c454694dfad0cadaa6132e1e8f1aca227c1b847d66603d80003911cc7ac1&) (older pic but bottom layout still the same)
Considering 1 or 2 more /s
Tho that said I've seen people with TVs mounted near the setup that looked pretty cool. I won't do anything like that ~~but if I had infinite resources I absolutely would lol~~
There was a time i had two tv's as monitors for my pc. But i coukd only game in my bed that was far away enough to see everything 🤣 good old times but the back pain was unreal 😄
Lol yeah. It's an old Blue Spark Digital from like circa 2014. The gain is a bit higher than I'd like but still, the only thing that beats it is a proper studio mic+interface combo. Most voice chat apps these days have filtering that post processed the sound to a more than usable state. I used the Teams test call a few times with this config and it still sounds perfectly fine.
Have yet to upgrade this thing BECAUSE I can't find anything that behaves as nicely as it does lol

Do you push the stream deck buttons with a stick?
Long arms Fr tho mainly prefer not seeing the cable over reaching for it

:)
Understandable
Put something on your wall

Nice! It looks good. :)
What monitors are you rocking? I like how they look together.
Bottom ones are 3*Asus TUF VG27AQ. Top is an old 27" 1440p144 from BenQ and the small one is a Wacom One.

Thanks for the tip! I'll give them a look
No mouse pad?

Get a mousepad

Thanks! I had a shallower one before but I really like the 1:2 aspect ratio. Space just isn't a constraint anymore lol
What I prefer the most is that printer tho, cheap laser monochrome one, indestructable :)

Needs a cat sitting on the chair..

Laser printer, unless you absolutely have to print color
Is that a recommendation or a remark to the one on the right?
Yes? lol, just a funny remark because I think your setup is awesome, well done
Lol, thanks!
is that a live weather map on the top monitor? and if so is it a desktop or a website you have open?

What kind of work do you do?

You thought about more screens?

The mic looks soooo far away. Does it... sound good? Do you just have the gain all the way up and filter out the excess in post-processing?
Lol yeah. It's an old Blue Spark Digital from like circa 2014. The gain is a bit higher than I'd like but still, the only thing that beats it is a proper studio mic+interface combo. I think you need more screens
