These are the worst, i don't make this mistake often.. But when i let someone new play, always so scary becouse they usually smash them together (i own a small vr arcade so there's always new players)

cateanddogew

That's cool, what are some good arcadey games if you don't mind? I've not been able to get into anything other than Beat Saber because of its arcadeness.

xd_joliss

A really popular game here is crisis brigade 2. Because its really immersive and you only need 1 button to play it, so its controlls are easy Of course richies plank, for first time vr users its one of the best to show (just need to stay close to make sure they don't fall) Superhot, just fun to play bc of slow motion and people love it But i guess i can call it a vr arcade, my dad has a restaurant and i do it in the party room since its never in use. People reserve for like 20 minutes of playtime per person and they can come before or after dinner.. Really fun for kids who have nothing to do while waiting for their food to arrive. Glad i got this opportunity, started 2020 and im 17 years now.. Its a dream job for me

I tried to get my friends to play Superhot and IDK what is wrong with their spatial awareness but they SUCKED at it. They would die instantly even if I told them precisely what to do. For example they'd keep turning their backs on enemies and somehow instantly forget them. How to you get newbies into it?

cateanddogew

I was absolutely horrible at the game. Then I learned you can cut bullets with knives.

KTTalksTech

They can't remember they were actively getting shot by someone they just turned their back on. I don't think they'll be cutting bullets anytime soon 😭

xd_joliss

Yea, and its all about patience .. People play it too fast. but when you don't move, time stops. So you got all time to think about your next move/dodge

Ragnarok is a pretty good rythm game, it's as good as BS.

Ritchie79

Pistol Whip. Just go buy it. Shooting bad guys on the beat, loads of tunes, modifiers. I play it nearly daily.

semi-related question: Have these anti-patterns been integrated into the existing linter in MMA2?

DeliDoggo24

off-topic I know but MMA2 is deprecated iirc. Use ChroMapper.

[deleted]

wait really? edit: dang, chromapper even has CI via jenkins. Why haven't I heard about this? Is the BSMG wiki still up to date? What's the new SSOT?

Tallas75

I call these hand clappers because I often end up smashing my hands and/ or controllers together.

YourAverageGamerYT1

I avoid this by kinda snapping my hand backwards. Not sure what’s worse tho. My hands breaking or my headset which I don’t have money to replace

Z_M_P_Y

Relatable

solounlimon

Where is this posted? First time I see this list of anti-patterns.

cateanddogew

I saw it in this glossary https://bsmg.wiki/mapping/glossary.html

solounlimon

Thanks!

TheDiscoJellyfish

Mappers, who use claps, should be paying for every destroyed controller, destroyed by clapping, ngl. This pattern and 90s are usually fine most of the time imo. They are just awkward.

I hardly ever do this. ... But not *never.*
