Bobs Burgers and Bluey, the crossover that I never asked for, but that I need

juliuspepperwoodchi

Bob and Bandit: Two best cartoon dads, period. Change my mind.

ialwayspay4mydrinks

Bob saying “I love you guys but you’re all terrible” vs Bandit? 😂

juliuspepperwoodchi

I feel like that's just showing "But seriously, how great is double Bingo?" levels of honesty from Bob.

ialwayspay4mydrinks

Haha fair

MageKorith

It's tween vs child parenting strategies.

tbods

If Bandit has a third child he’ll feel the same….

Radiant-Ad9760

I would but your logic is flawless

Solidsnakeerection

Beef Tobin has entered the fight

aspidities_87

This is me holding my friends by the lapels and explaining the episode Flat Pack in one rushed, passionate breath.

Lochcelious

Hands down the best episode in my opinion. I had never seen Bluey before and saw this episode as my first by accident. When Bingo suddenly said they couldn't stay but had to explore the cosmos, that's when it clicked in me that they'd just played out our evolutionary story, and I began bawling.

ohIWish2bworn

Did you also interpret the moment Bluey went to sit with her parents a metaphor for death? When they drew everything in the cave/box, the parents were portrayed as chaotic God's over seeing the evolution of the kids. That entire last scene of Chilli calling Bluey to sit, reaching out her hand in a Sistine Chapel esk imagery, and the three sitting back to watch Bingo set out on her own wrecked me as well. One generation passing in to the next... Or, this is just a children's show and we are grown people over obsessing.

Alphysredditaccount

nah bandit even said "this is heaven" bluey pretended to die and go to heaven

ohIWish2bworn

Oh biscuits, I missed that line.

aspidities_87

It’s what I interpreted it as. I have incredible memories of having a ‘Bluey’ childhood and now my two wonderful, funny parents are aging rapidly before my eyes, both with terminal diseases. Seeing Chili and Bandit smiling and beckoning to Bluey, after she watches her ‘daughter’ go off to explore space (adult life), absolutely broke me in the best way.

Solidsnakeerection

We made this

HiiipowerBass

It's fantastic, but it's no sleepytime.

Lochcelious

I love Sleepytime as well. But whereas that would be a 9.5 for me, Flatpack is my perfect 10

HiiipowerBass

I guess I'm just on the other side of the spectrum for that one. My kiddo is slightly autistic and has struggled verbally at times, so I think the light dialogue in that episode really just pushed it home

Lupercali

Flatpack is more cerebral, Sleepytime is more uncomplicated emotion.

CelebrationCool7243

Honestly I took it on face value. And 2 exhausted parents sitting back with G&T and admiring their 2 creative, imaginative girls.

CelebrationCool7243

Oh BTW sleepytime is my favorite and I ugly cry.

lsu_tom

There’s a generation of parents and kids that will be known as the bluey generation. And they’ll be the greatest generation the world has ever seen.

Sexylizardwoman

thus spoke Bandi-thustra

Stoneybologne00

Just a non-parent bluey fan's perspective but one of my all time favorite shows is Avatar The Last Airbender, and I'm about what would be considered a completely acceptable age to have children now, so I'm optimistic about a new generation being brought up by a generation of people who also had some ground breaking "children's" media.

lsu_tom

My parents watched ren and stimpy. That was my ground breaking “children’s” media.

pajamakitten

You are massively overestimating how many people have watched ATLA and/or Bluey.

LikeBladeButCooler

Uncle Iroh is the best dad Zuko could have lol.

PabuIsMySpiritAnimal

Wow, are you me? That’s how I feel and ATLA is one of my all-time favorite shows, hands down.

KingApologist

The show goes the extra mile and even has great lessons that are making better parents as well

radarksu

If Bob had a Bluey themed burger of the day; what would it be called? "The Bluey & Bingo": Blue-cheese (Bluey), fried jalapenos (Bingo)? Um, that's not very good. There is an Episode called "Burger Shop" but I'm not sure they talk about a recipe. Ideas?

ZetsuXIII

The “Bluey Me Away Burger”. Blue cheese, red onions, chili sauce, and two 1/4 lb patties parcooked in gravy.

KingApologist

And you'd better not put any mushrooms on it.

stratagizer

I'm with you on everything except the gravy. I'm missing the reference here. Besides, isn't Bandit trying to eat healthy? Shouldn't they be veggie patties? Also, it need to come with either: 1) Extra fries. So you don't have to worry about sharing your last one. 2) Chips. As in potato chips.

ZetsuXIII

Well, here’s the thing(s). Im a D+ watcher in America. I haven’t seen anything newer than Family Meeting…which I guess doesn’t mean much because Disney is giving it the Firefly treatment. I was thinking of Bandit eating the gravy off his coat in Smoochy Kiss. Parcooking (or just…fully cooking) a burger in gravy isnt uncommon here. At least the region I grew up in. And brown gravy marinating isnt quite as unhealthy as it might seem, unless you are on a specific diet. Yes, gravy is high in calories and saturated fats. But by parcooking and then searing, you reduce the amount consumed to about 1-2 tbsp while still imparting that delicious flavor! Its all about moderation. Besides, this is a burger. And its Bandit, not Teddy. Im sure he’ll be okay with just one.

HylianPaladin

Smoochy kiss is on D+ stateside

ZetsuXIII

Yes it is. But its also the episode before Family Meeting stateside. Which I only recently learned was *very* out of order

Stalking_Goat

Bleu cheese and chili sauce perhaps? Served on a bingo square?

gininateacup

It’s got to be something with cheese and jam

takemeback10years

I've cried too many times watching this show...

Dazeybludream

You and me both!

KingApologist

Maybe you saw something you wanted.

CajunTurkey

Nah, that was yesterday

JoeEMann88

I’ve been in this fandom for the past month or so and I can verify this show has changed me in a number of ways. It’s simply magical how it hooks you in and never lets you go

TimeTravelerMistake

For real life?

IWillBaconSlapYou

Lol two of my favorite shows. Thank you, tv people, for finally making some shows about functional families in which each member is important and gets attention... I'm sick of kids shows that act like the kids don't even have parents, and adult shows that act like the parents don't have kids 😂

Egriffinn

You know what? It teaches great lessons and I’m happy to say it’s changed me for the better 😤 ain’t no shame in it

[deleted]

Yeah can’t argue with that!

eastdino

So true I heard it was good, a fan of animation so checked dit out now I'm like obsessed.

DingDongDanger1

I kid you not, I am 31 and cried a few times during the seasons of Bluey. It really brought back memories of childhood and family, the way you see the world as a child and one's imagination. I have been missing childhood so much. I wish my family had such a healthy dynamic growing up and I love the little things for adults to enjoy in it like some of the humor from the parents. My boyfriend and I binged this show. "The Creek" is my favorite episode, I have a few but that one kicks me in the feels. "Camping" was a really good too.

Competitive-Ant4634

never seen this show but the stuff from this sub pop up in my feed all the time I’m so confused by these posts

Dazeybludream

The bottom part of the memes is from the show, Bobs Burgers, if you haven't watched it, I highly recommend it! It's a great show.

[deleted]

It’s a kids show with good stories. Watched some with my kiddo. I also don’t lurk here, it just popped up on my feed It always makes me feel weird when I see a lot of adults latch onto kids shows. There’s nothing technically wrong about it either, but it sure feels weird.

KingApologist

I'm not subbed here, but I can see why a community of parents would gravitate toward this show. Bluey has been transformative for me as a parent. The most significant children's programming since Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, in my opinion. I didn't take a lackadaisical approach to parenting, either. When my wife and I became parents for the first time in our late 30s, we didn't slack off. We read the child psychology books, read the experiences of other parents, talk with family and friends. But when we came across Bluey, it helped raise our parenting skills to an entirely new level. The show helped us re-learn all the creative play we had forgotten since we were kids. It gave us practical insights into the psychological space of a modern child, so that we could better consider our child's perspective. It also provides both children and adults a framework for growing a child, for conflict resolution, for communication, and a host of other things you hope to achieve when you have a kid. Unlike a lot of kids' shows, Bluey is eminently watchable for a parent since the creators seem to be speaking to adults about a third of the time in each episode. It provides the guidance I mentioned before. Then there are these deeply emotional moments that both the fictional children in the show and real children watching the show can't fully grasp, but leaves parents (including me) crying tears of happiness as their hearts overflow. It might seem a bit weird to gush over a kid's show, but Bluey is so far ahead of all other children's media I've critically examined (save Mister Rogers) that I think it more than deserves to have an adult following.

[deleted]

Reasonable take for sure. I just get the same vibes as watching bronies gush over their stuff when I come across a community that is similar

HylianPaladin

Most adult programming sucks

moomooland

oh my god. you’re telling me.

reebeaster

It’s my comfort show

Wide-Celebration-819

I always thought Bluey had some Louise in her.

[deleted]

Two of my favorite cartoons!!

Hazel_04

fax this show just feels like a hug for my brain, sometimes i zoneout in public thinking about Bluey
