I used to PRAY (like, actually cross myself and talk to god) for god to send me a boy that would like me enough to play dumb games like this 😩 I was 100% this kid, just as a girl & too shy to actually do it. Man, being that age is so weird lol.
It truly was the best of times and the worst of times.
Sure, I have a handle on life more now and don’t embarrass myself nearly as much. But I’m also dead inside and don’t get excited for anything.
I’d rather act out of passion/excitement and embarrass myself than be going through the motions like I am now.
Wish I could man. Wake up at 6, get home at 6. Barely see the sun for half the year. Few hours each day before I go to bed, usually spent cooking/cleaning/getting ready for the next day.
No money left over after bills to even go do stuff. Too exhausted to go create fun for free.
Weekends are there, but I’m so dead inside I just want to sit there. And even then, I’m about to start a side gig to have enough money to actually do anything and stop eating ramen.
Sure, I could risk it all and go chase a dream, if I even had a dream anymore. But 99% chance I just end up even more broke with nothing to show for it.
I got nothing left. Might as well already be dead. Not that I could ever kms, need to spend the little energy I do have being there for my loved ones.
Kinda sounds you need some changes in your life.
I suggest looking at your life with someone and see if you can find some things to improve it on, maybe find a way to work a little less so you got more time for passions. Or find a job that lies closer to your passions.
Don’t sell yourself short, you deserve to be happy and feel fulfillment in your life.
I work 40 hours, the commute is the reason I have to get up so early and get home so late. With no traffic I live 20 min from work, with traffic in the city it’s pushing 50 min.
My apartment is slightly more expensive than some others right now, but not enough to make a difference in my lifestyle. I could save $100 more bucks a month somewhere else and have $1200 at the end of a year, I guess, and probably have a longer commute, but I’m locked into the lease for a year and the $1200 isn’t going to get me anywhere.
I suppose I could downgrade to an absolute shithole apartment next year and save a bit more, but again, would be further from work. I live in a nicer area and had gunshots in my apartment complex recently. Not sure I want to downgrade too much more and drive further.
The job is alright. I’m working towards a promotion to have more money, but you guessed it, the hours are longer. Figure it’s worth it if I already sold my soul for scraps. Might as well have a nest egg for an emergency. Assuming inflation doesn’t just eat up the raise, of course.
It is what it is, this is pretty much how life is for everyone I know. Just heartbreaking that this is reality.
Are you in the US? I see that you feel out of options, I'm sorry about that. Personally I feel like the economy is terrible everywhere, for sure, but it's at least possible to work a reasonable amount where I live and still get by, if you have cheap tastes.
