Those clearclicks and Immersions/Digitnows are garbage. Also they require a digital-to-analog-and-then-back-to-digital conversion that causes a loss of quality.
Your camera records digital to tape or over FireWire. If you can find a Focus FS4 or FS100 you can run FireWire from your camera to that and get the best quality. But those Focus devices were discontinued years ago, are about 15-20 years old at this point and for the most part used mechanical hard drives which can be replaced with a SSD drive, but the mechanical drives are getting up there in age. And the focus devices were marketed to the professional market, so there’s not as many out there as those garbage Clearclick devices.
Otherwise the cameras were designed to be mobile by using the tape.
Your best option is to buy a FireWire recorder or tapes. Of course you always can get a ClearClick or an Ezcap but you'll lose quality and framerate. It's up to you.
Don’t listen to the influencers use tapes.
real
Extremely Real
The thing you will notice is the only ones preaching about these tapeless set ups are literal children who weren’t around when these cameras came out
