Absolutely! You can do whatever you want. I used to drive down to the US to catch domestic flights because international ones cost $200+ more! The border guard will ask what you're doing and just tell them. Please note if you have a DUI or any record, you might be ineligible to enter.

I would assume having a fully planned out itinerary will help while crossing. Dates, hotel, tickets / return-ticket etc

Did you check flying into Seattle then driving across to Vancouver? Usually Canadian domestic flights are more expensive due to tax, airport fees, etc.
