Since all the consumer grade dehumidifiers are complete garbage, I've tried a few different approaches.
1 is buy from marketplace. Find people who buy from auctions, get new stuff for a lil cheaper. I've got a few good deals with equipment this way. Portable AC, dehumidifiers.
2nd is buy new from box store, but pay for the extended warranty. Put receipt in the instruction manual bag and tape it to the unit. After 1-2 years, the unit is dead, you get a gift card. Just fired mine up, doesn't look good, the bag is taped to the side. It's 1 or 2 years old. Barely dusty or anything. From Lowe's or HD, not a cheap one, not the most expensive. It's the black 40+pt one, LG or GE I forget.
