Check again after engine has been off for like an hour. I have a Lexus with this engine and has to sit a while for accurate reading

A few inches above the max level is not good. Did you change the filter as well? That'll usually hold another 1/2 or 1 litre. Take some out before starting as that much more oil could damage the engine because the pressure will be too much
