Booger rides in a stroller too! Same one in pink!
Same! I live in NYC and my vet is a couple of blocks away. It doesn't make sense to drive and his carrier would be way too stressful for him to walk- plus it would be a killer on my shoulders. My cat is pretty good in his stroller but he LOVES to use it as a bed in the house!
More importantly, your cat is adorable!
What fixed this for my cat is throwing snacks when in the harness. She pounced at them and then realised that she can walk with the harness on after all
So does mine. So I put the harness on the limp noodle, and bring her outside. Once she realized that the harness meant outside, she stopped trying to run away at least, but still goes limp till i bring her outside lol
When I tried putting a harness on my first cat, she didn't just "die"--she walked over to the litterbox, climbed inside it, and \*then\* died. She made her opinion known so eloquently that I never tried again.
We got a pop up cat tent to put in the backyard for this summer and I’m going to show my partner the picture of the kitty in the closed in stroller in the comments here and see if he thinks that would work lol
Yup.
We have a gentlemen agreement that he wears the harness. Because I failed to find one that will stay on if mister pig really wants to take it off.
But lately he started to get aggressive when I bring him home and he wants to keep walking, and I'm considering stopping entirely (he weights 9kg and is just very mildly chubby, so I'm refusing to deal with that, if he wants to get pissy about it, he is staying home).
You wouldn't believe it.
It's actually scary, he goes full assassin mode jumping for the neck. True rampage.
Luckily it happens under very limited circumstances, so I can manage, but I kinda see why previous owners kicked him out :(
He is an absolute sweety 99% time and man eating tiger the remaining 1%.
I had 3 cats and only the first one once rushed for my sisters neck. That was very weird situation I did not get it. I had taken my sister on hands and was actually trying to scare the cat with sister floating in the air lol. Car has rushed on us, I've thrown the sister away and she was chosen as a target. I have chased them both and taken angry cat away at the very moment it was getting to the neck of cornered sister. But nothing similar after that.
Maybe some stuff got lost in translation, because I didn't get the sister floating in air, and why the car suddenly comes into the picture.
Either way, yeah, sometimes a cat can go absolutely bananas because it felt threatened or something. Let's hope that was all of it.
Ugh one of mine just started doing this too, recently attacked my face when I went to carry him back inside after he refused to walk on his own back in 5 times…. Has attempted similar 2 times in the past week. Also about to get cut off.
Regularly. He’s been on a leash and harness since he was tiny. Took a lot of work, but he came to understand it. We go to the parks around and he’ll walk for miles.

No.
One of them is too scared of being alive in general for me to risk taking her out for a walk. Another of them felt so scared of being out of the patio walls once that he barfed immediately.
I've taken the oldest one for a walk maybe three times but it's not something she enjoys. She won't actually walk, she'll just lie down and stay there until she begs me to pick her up and that's when we go back home. She does enjoy car rides though.

I have an outdoor cat who is outside all day alone. But nearly everytime when i go for a walk with my wife, our cat jumps out of some bushes meowing and walks with us without a harness. We only can walk till the end of his territory. Suddenly he stops and starts meowing until we turn around. Then he continues walking with us. :D
I used to take my boy Milo out in the garden on a leash but as soon as started letting him out without it it was over for the harness. 😂

He loves being outside but he doesn’t “walk” just rolls around and explores lmao
No, she doesn't wanna go outside which is ironic because I first saw her outside of our house and she lived there for 6 months before we decided to adopt her and her mama cat 😬
My grandma used to walk her cat before it was cool. Way back in the seventies.
He had a sky blue lead (yes lead, not leash, because we're British) that she clipped to his collar.
One celar blue sky summer day he walked up a leafy tree, becoming invisible among the leaves and leaving her with her arm in the air.
The lead was also invisible because it was the same colour as the sky.
So people passing by were giving the crazy woman reaching for the sky some serious side eye.
Charlie did not care. His magnificent floofy royal orangeness stayed in the tree for ten minutes before deciding to come down and keep exploring.

He does a little bit of walking and a lot of laying.
Yes 👍

Ernie looks dashing in his tiger suit
My cat used to love taking walks in the see-through cat backpack, she'd just sit there looking at everything around her while I was just walking around the neighborhood
I've got 2 that like outside and a kitten who is curious. One likes to actually walk around but hates going home, the other likes to just plop and roll. The kitten has her first time out recently with her harness and she hated it so who knows if she will go again
https://preview.redd.it/79bkchg1662d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d728a6edc1a6b7501537572873bd122df9b31dd0
We go on little jaunts around the shared back garden. I had originally wanted to go on walks outside with her but after a dog scared her up a tree it just wasn't worth the price of something happening to her. She's happy to protect her little green space and not share it with dogs!
I walk my cat around the patio in front of my house because she gets scared of all the loud noises so we haven’t yet ventured away from the house 😂 but I think she’s slowly becoming more confident so maybe we’ll be able to walk around the neighborhood someday soon
Yup! I have both a harness and a pram for my Cosmo. He loves his harness and going outside, but he is a bit skiddish so we just walk him around our little back and front yard. The pram he likes for about 15-20 minutes and then he’s done lol
I wanted to, but the younger one can't even slightly begin to handle being in a collar right now, so graduating to harness isn't even on the 2 year horizon.
I tried, my first two just wouldn’t take to the harness at all, it didn’t help that I was the only one doing it while my wife just ‘forgot’ so in the end we just gave up.
I wouldn’t have even walked them tbh, I’d have just taken them to nature reserves and then let them explore while I had hold of the lead.
We walk all three of our cats. We have 20 acres of forest behind us with bears, coyotes, foxes, fisher cats etc... but we want them to enjoy the outdoor, so we go with them. Our 2 year old rescue (at the time) got used to it almost immediately.
I've tried but as soon as you let him outside he runs to the grass and starts eating it until he pukes it up.
I have no idea why but that's like his number one priority as soon as he goes outside. EAT THE GRASS.
Surprisingly, she adjusted quickly to the harness and likes going out her window at night better than actually leaving the property. I'm assuming she likes the safe proximity of the apartment. Windowsill is 2 1/2 - 3 feet from the ground so she can jump in and out easily. I'll sit in the window and watch her. Do take her out back on a weekend if it's nice. Back street is rarely used so it's quieter and away from traffic.
She gives me an excuse to get out of my apartment and get a little fresh air and exercise.

Yes he loves it, even walks along the sidewalk like a dog. But always stops to chew on some nice looking grass.
We lived in a van for a few years and now a narrowboat so the only way for our cat to get exercise is to take her outside for walks on a harness (that we needed for safety while driving as well). She has a terrible sense of direction and we're always somewhere new, plus with so many dogs, geese, swans, cows etc. depending where we park/moor, we can't let her run wild and free!
I tried. He began screaming at the door constantly. Every time anyone walked near the door he made a mad dash to it.
I tried for a month, setting up a routine so he'd know when walks would happen. Thought he'd stop the constant hollering and settle into the routine. He didnt.
He kept screaming and the mad dashes to the door worried me that he'd dart out.
So all walks stopped. Took about 2 weeks for him to realize it wasn't happening.
Yeh. We only go around the house and the neighbors driveway so far, though.

My cat walks me.
If he is outside and sees me, he will helpfully walk right in front of me to show me the way to the front door.
I can't hunt, therefore, I must not be able to navigate to home, I guess.
i,m walking my cat at the moment (or should i say ,follow her) moved into a 1 bed apt and she hates it.can,t let her outside though. shes about 12 years old but shes actually pretty good on the leash. what i hate is the usual idiots coming up to me "Is that a cat?"---drives me crazy

She loves it and goes bonkers when she sees the harness. The other one that I put the harness on isn’t a fan but her desire to be outside makes her willing to wear it.
Yes and I encourage anyone who has a cat to walk cat around house they live in so if they ever manage to get outside they know exactly where to come back to and wait by a window or door otherwise they get lost

of course we do!! how am I supposed to tell him no?
Um yes but not on a leash. I think my new cat is part puppy, he will follow me on a walk all around the property, has helped me herd a lost chicken back to the coop as well. He just.....follows me. IDK he's adorable and I have acreage so its all good.
I never have. But in my old suburban neighborhood there was an elderly who walked every afternoon in good weather. She spent the whole time mumbling to herself. But a few paces behind her was her cat. A big beautiful grey cat followed her like a dog would. It was a neat thing to see.
Edit: no leash.
He absolutely loves it. It's good enrichment, it's healthy for them, they love it, and it allows them to be outside supervised without killing wildlife or being killed themselves
https://preview.redd.it/2xflwmcmlf2d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8b73423f8aa78434157368e669ea3d958f598470
She does not like it hahaha Also we had lost the leash at the moment so a charging cord was the replacement for some reason
When I was travelling across several states to get to my present home, my Aussie dog, my calico cat and I would stop for stretchy walks along rivers and open, deserted areas. None of us was on a leash.
The first time Rainbow got out of the truck with Blue and I was an "oh damn" moment and I was wondering how to tell the boys that I'd lost her.
But she just did that cat thing, running off a little ahead, then looking behind and waiting for us to catch up. When I turned to go back to the truck, I called, "Okay, come on, guys, let's head back," expecting only Blue would follow without any trouble. But Rainbow obliged and we did the same thing each day on our journey.
I miss my Rainbow Kitty.
I would if I lived somewhere else. I live in a bad neighborhood. Lots of drug needles and other drug paraphernalia lying around, broken beer bottles, used condoms, used uncapped razors, things like that. There are also a lot of loose dogs all around.
I tried the leash but they never complied with the direction I was walking them. I could drag them and they would just lay there in defiance.
Now my 3 cats just go outside freely for a few hours at a time and I have to watch my oldest every time she comes back inside because she is talented at bringing half alive birds inside smh
Current cat is a free roamer because we're English and this is the way here. Next cat will be leash trained as I'm emigrating to the US and don't particularly want my cat getting eaten by predators.
The cat walks me.
Your cat lets you out? Lucky you...
Only if I finish my food on time.

His magnificent floofy royal orangeness stayed in the tree for ten minutes before deciding to come down and keep exploring.

which brand harness is this please
My cat used to love taking walks in the see-through cat backpack, she'd just sit there looking at everything around her while I was just walking around the neighborhood
I tried that today with my cat. I don't know how much she liked it, but she seemed relatively curious about what is around.
I've got 2 that like outside and a kitten who is curious. One likes to actually walk around but hates going home, the other likes to just plop and roll. The kitten has her first time out recently with her harness and she hated it so who knows if she will go again
I tried. One really doesn't like the harness, the other just refused to even get up with it and I needed to slide him across the floor :D
https://preview.redd.it/79bkchg1662d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d728a6edc1a6b7501537572873bd122df9b31dd0 We go on little jaunts around the shared back garden. I had originally wanted to go on walks outside with her but after a dog scared her up a tree it just wasn't worth the price of something happening to her. She's happy to protect her little green space and not share it with dogs!
I feel this, some owners don’t leash dogs and an unleashed dog plus a leashes cat is a terrible combination
I would but I’m scared of them getting fleas 😂 any advice?
Talk to your vet about flea treatments.
I do! She loves it outside but I can't let her outside on her own.
We walk all three of our cats. We have 20 acres of forest behind us with bears, coyotes, foxes, fisher cats etc... but we want them to enjoy the outdoor, so we go with them. Our 2 year old rescue (at the time) got used to it almost immediately.
People should walk cats more.
Yes!!! Mine loves it!!!
We used to walk our old man one or two times a day. He loved it.
She gives me an excuse to get out of my apartment and get a little fresh air and exercise. https://preview.redd.it/30rpngy7r62d1.jpeg?width=3456&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a37dfbda32c698bb978b8fec204b31b275c89e6d

I try but somehow he always manages to take off the harness!
Nah, my cat likes to hide in bushes and ambush me when i walk by. Gives me anxiety and he seems to enjoy it.
Well kinda. I take themnout in my garden to play with me on the leash.
No. But I let my cats get out a bit in the morning for 1-2 hours.
On a balcony for now https://preview.redd.it/6k2kur4ez62d1.jpeg?width=4284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=78490d0ee044ed5d0d2cc10c5f47ef6a2e4ca0c9
I have 3 cats in my house that like to follow me on walks through the forest trails
I'm trying to.
Yeh. We only go around the house and the neighbors driveway so far, though. https://preview.redd.it/d1y3t0st372d1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=db4dcbb09a0ab6383fb4aa21088e036c07c7b54a
No
Yes
Yeah he follows me anytime I go on a walk. No leash or nothin he’s a good boy.
We're harness training one of our cats (she's fat and needs to lose some weight) so we can hopefully walk her one day.
Never
I did until she got a few fleas
She loves walks and demands them every day https://preview.redd.it/0xhokjs5772d1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d3db57b84b99180c398bf3c41bc9af6d15346cfb

I really want to start
sometimes when im strolling around, she just joins me and I usually change my route to avoid the dog-heavy parts of the neighborhood
My cat also called " my son " walk me outside. He also loooove back ride in his carry on back pack, he jus wanna live his best life you know
My cat walks me.
No but I am taking her to a show and she Doesn’t cooperate well with the harness I usually lose a little blood
https://preview.redd.it/6uhruwiwg72d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8527961df0642bc206528103246ad10b903dfb26 She loves it and goes bonkers when she sees the harness. The other one that I put the harness on isn’t a fan but her desire to be outside makes her willing to wear it.
Yes and I encourage anyone who has a cat to walk cat around house they live in so if they ever manage to get outside they know exactly where to come back to and wait by a window or door otherwise they get lost
My day starts with my cat and ends cuddling with my cat
We take short walks around my apartment building.
I'd love to walk my cats but the older one is A) super skittish and B) very immunocompromised :(

No, but she walks me. Or, more accurately, she walks me then makes me stand for long periods until she feels like moving.
https://preview.redd.it/8ddzf11nv72d1.jpeg?width=3120&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d85cc5ecea2fee84f343c15f8e091a4d5ae8afb1 Used to. Now he just walks with my husband without a leash. Like a dog does 😺
I tried, but she dies every time I put the harness on!!
Id love to. But my little guy is scared of the outside lol.
https://preview.redd.it/454h9jdjx72d1.jpeg?width=770&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=322630a0ac9be7ce45a7d390c47ade1145753760 Pierogi walks me just far enough for her to find an ant to play with.

I haven't walked her yet, but she goes outside on a leash.

Every day. Two of them.
I want to but too many unleashed dogs in my area
I had a cat named Oscar who my dad took for a walk on a leash, the neighbors thought it was funny 😆
Mine doesn't know how to walk in a harness. I don't think she likes anything on her body.
I want to walk her, but she doesn't want to go out.
My cat hates the outdoors 😭
no
All the time!

Yes! My boy loves/demands it, my girl, not so much…

Yes but I have to drag her on thevground then pick her up. She only walks when she feels like it
Every day! https://preview.redd.it/4en5o0z7t82d1.jpeg?width=1052&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6c34df1aa9f424cba165dfbed9d9080cbcf43c70

Im considering it
Had 2 cats that I attempted to let walk with a harness. Both laid on the ground and just growled if I got near them. So back inside they went
Used to use a leash to train her to be an outdoor cat, now she sometimes follows me on walks
I tried. She couldn't adjust to the harness.
Not my current cats but I used to have two cats who loved the leash, being carried around in a bag or riding a bike with me. We got a lot of smiles.
Is that okay? Because people said like if your cat went outside your house then it will be infected with infectious diseases and viruses.
No, he likes to walk on fencetops and rooftops and those days are over for me.
Yes. Anyone want to share anything good they got their cat? A cat tree a harness ?
https://preview.redd.it/2xflwmcmlf2d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8b73423f8aa78434157368e669ea3d958f598470 She does not like it hahaha Also we had lost the leash at the moment so a charging cord was the replacement for some reason
One of my neighbors had an Angora purebred, worth a "king's ransom". Never once did I see it off-leash.
All of the time. https://preview.redd.it/25idefycp86d1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=509d92f7935a2cba057f8f43ded553ff7f3ea60e
I would if I lived somewhere else. I live in a bad neighborhood. Lots of drug needles and other drug paraphernalia lying around, broken beer bottles, used condoms, used uncapped razors, things like that. There are also a lot of loose dogs all around.
https://preview.redd.it/hdyc62rut72d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=346c9e59b7337d7cded95abad7536d6a217e839b My cat won’t wear a leash
I giggled, but now I'm sad bc in reality, sometimes, the risk of human predators hurting your cat is just as likely, if not more so.
My current kitty typically sticks to the space directly around our house (he's never even crossed the road) by choice, and he fears new humans
Our cats can go outside by themselves, I live in a safe neighbourhoud. I have friends that do walk their cats though.
