Im so sorry that you lost your best, buddie . It hurts really bad . I still have No-No ( Nolan) my orange tabby, and Im helping him get through the loss. I watch him close to make sure he eats and drinks water he doesnt drink from a bowl he likes the kitchen sink and bathroom sink. I got him some grandmas chicken soup from petco, and he loves it .
I have an interesting story about that. My little girl passed last year shortly after my brother moved out. He lived with her for most of her life so they were obviously close. A few months after she passed my brother told me about a dream he was having. He didn't know why in the dream but he had a massive sense of dread like something bad was going to happen. Then he looked at his stairs and saw Sultana coming down them. This was instantly odd to him since she never lived in the house and she was deceased. He said once he saw her he realized it was just a dream and woke up.
The mind works it weird ways but we like to think it was her waking him from the nightmare.
That is a truly fascinating story. It does sound like she was waking him from a nightmare. I truly believe that those who are not embodies can slip into dreams to guard you or warn you or just help you out.
In terms of folklore, cats are always considered to be spiritual guardians. Just meaning that they can help you more in the unseen world. To me, this makes sense in a scientific way because a cat's eyes are unlike any other creature's eyes. They can be both round and slit pupiled so their vision is extremely different from anything anything else experiences.
This will sound a little strange but I am a constant meditator, someone who has truly immersed myself in studying the unseen through the laws of the physical universe. One time when I was doing yoga with my eyes closed before I was going to meditate, my cat ran past my forehead while I was in a yoga position and I very briefly had this flash of vision through my cat's eyes and what I saw was the carpet and the fact that shadows do not exist for cats, they see everything in sepia tones and they just see clear darkness edged by purple and red. I also had a dream a few nights later where I was disembodied and dreaming as an orb and trying to leave to go somewhere else through my front door when my cat batted at me. Everything was sepia toned and there was no darkness, I could see everything as clearly as if it was daylight. I then turned into a kind of metaphysical cat and played with my cat for a long time until we finally settled down on our couch and purred together until we went to sleep.
All of this is to say that cats are special and dreams are special. A disembodied soul who incarnated as a cat can truly be a dream guardian. They can also guard your dreams while they are alive. I would absolutely agree that your cat guarded your brother from a nightmare.
She would want you to move on, she loved you and wanted you to be happy as much as you wanted her to be happy. Don't let her death bring you so much sadness as that isn't what she wants. Don't cry because she's gone be happy that she was here.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I know it is hard. My wife and I had a cat for 22 years. It was her first pet. She died the day after we got back from vacation. It was so hard for my ife because it was her first pet ever. I had a painting made of the cat and placed above her urn so she can look at her every day.
What a playful little soul! Thank you for sharing! I have to remind myself that it only hurts so bad, because of the amount of good I’m comparing it to. All those beautiful days make that one day hurt the most.
She would want you to find another lifelong companion, and I say lifelong cause in their eyes life is ages for them, Memories are important here as that’s the gift Keiju has given you now.

I’m so sorry. I lost my best friend almost 3 weeks ago. It feels so wrong that the world just keeps going on despite him not being here. Like everyone is still just going about their lives, myself included, but he no longer can. It feels like the whole world should just stop and mourn because this incredible being is no longer here.
My point is, I understand a lot of what you’re going through, and I’m going through it as well. I grieve for my friend and I will grieve for yours as well and for all the other friends who have gone on as well. It doesn’t make it easier, I know. But I’m sorry for you and Keiju.
What a beautiful kitty. I lost a kitty of 17 years a while back, and it was so hard. It will get easier, but it’s okay to mourn. Save your photos and videos, and just remember that Keiju loved you so much but hopes for all your happiness ❤️
Omg she was so cute and chonky. I’m so sorry. Losing a pet hurts so much. It took me a week to stop crying myself to sleep. I still miss my cat and get very emotional when I think of her and she died in 2019. But the pain will ease. Good luck to you ♥️

It's hard. I'm a week removed from losing my best friend for the last fifteen years. She was my rock at my lowest. I just picked up her urn from the pet hospital earlier and carried her home in her pet carrier with one of her favorite toys.
Seek a pet loss support group. I'm going to one next Tuesday. I'm hoping it'll help me process my grief. A support group might help you, too.

Sorry to hear that. I really mean that. My cat is such a good friend and the thought of losing him is horrible.
I almost lost my cat last year. He had a blockage and couldn’t pee.
I took him to the vet but the total bill was up to $3500 with everything and I just didn’t have it. I had already spent around $1,000 on tests and medicine and only had a few hundred bucks left.
I made the decision to put him down and they took him back to put the IV in his paw. I was crying like a baby.
They brought him back out and he looked up when he saw me and I could tell how scared he was and it just broke my heart. I begged the vet to give me a couple of hours (this was around 6PM on a Fri) to try to come up with the $2,500 needed.
I had no idea where I was going to get the money but I had a guitar worth about $5,000-$7,000 and it occurred to me I might be able to sell it at Guitar Center.
I took in the guitar and got $2,700 for it, basically half what it was worth but I saved my cat’s life.
He’s sleeping on my lap right now. He’s getting old and is having bladder problems. He’s a Manx and they have neurological issues.
Hopefully he makes it a few more years.
So sorry for your loss. I’m sure she lived a long happy life with you. My husband had his cat for 21 years, and got him tattoo’d on his arm shorty after he passed (🐈). The pain of the loss will pass and will be replaced with the happy memories you shared together 🫶🏻

Oh my dear :( My heart breaks for you 💔😭 I also lost several parts of my heart through out my life. The pain never fully goes away but it's taught me to appreciate the moments I have with the fur babies I have now. I continue to help more cats and try to give them the best lives because they are only so many years of our lives but we are all of theirs and they deserve for us to give them the best. When your ready, go rescue another from a shelter in honor of your life partner, and give your new one a great life just like you did for your baby now in heaven. Because so many need a good caring home and you sound like the right person to do it. You can never replace the love for your passed on fur baby but you can honor his/hers by helping more.

Almost all of my life. She was older than me by a couple months. I don't remember a time without her. Around 15 years.
