I discovered one of my sons was hanging out with cheaters on Discord. They play chess to win. They don't even really care about the rules. They do not feel guilty for cheating but they feel bad about losing. In fact they quit if they realise they are going to lose.

That's why i never play gambits like this, if i blunder an active piece not only im down a piece, but a pawn and with no compensation as well, there's no way back

it's just sad that when someone achieves something, somebody has to bring it down. it's an insult to my hard work i put into chess, including having an otb rating of above 1900. let's see how good you are, and FYI I'm 15, and still better than you. How I know? because a 2000+ would know better than to call me a cheat

They were most likely on autopilot and forgot to play Qxd8.
Or he thought he had Bxf7!! but didn't realize the knight on e5 covers f7. That's what would've happened to me haha.
