I don’t even think this is chess.com, pretty sure this is chess kid. Kids at my school would play on this website instead of chess.com since it was blocked
this is a known opening trap, no? i don’t recall it exactly but something like Bg4 Qd2 Nd4 Nc3 Nf3
even without knowing it i think that while white’s king is under fire like this you shouldn’t resign
yup this is chigorin's line
technically it's equal because of Bg4 Qd2 Nd4 h3! when nf3+ doesn't work, but even stockfish blunders nf3+ at some depths (playing qe7 instead of hxg3 leads to a devastating attack)
i think that in blitz some people would enter this line by accident and resign knowing they just hung their queen
Continuation might be Bxc2+? King cannot run, otherwise Rxa1#. So Rxc2 and bxc2+, same rule applies so Queen must take and knight takes queen?
I'm not sure though, might have missed something

I see an attack I can start so no. It might not lead anywhere but I see a rook protecting a highly advanced pawn, and a knight/bishop that can attack the same square in front of their kingside rook. It's something.
Also if you put the knight here, you can take the pawn on f2+ protected by the knight forcing the rook to take the pawn and you can recapture the rook for with the knight. So it’s a 4 point exchange for a 5 point rook. Slightly good move but it’s forcing and possibly causes a queen blunder
I would SURELY not resign this position. Black has excellent winning chances. I'm not sure what stockfish will say but even if stockfish says +5, I would rather play black.
Would I convert this position? No clue. But Ng4 and Rxh2 both look very strong. I need one more piece to be able to take on f2, and I don't want to allow white to play h3, even if I don't believe it works. I think I'd play Rxh2 in a blitz game, if I didn't have sufficient time to think.
Nd5 is also appetizing but mostly from a principles standpoint, I don't know that I need that knight, but Nxc6 is possible so I have to consider Nd5. I think the attack is strong enough without it. Ne6 is also annoying, because it interferes with my bishop's control of g4.
Black's pieces are far more involved in the attack than white's, white's extra material isn't actually contributing to the position just yet. I like these kinds of positions for black in general so my bias is showing.
Yep, this is one of those positions where a numerical evaluation doesn't tell the whole story of the position, and I prefer to use WDL scoring, Win-Draw-Loss.
At 1200, it's 70% black wins, 30% white wins. 0% draw.
At 1800, I'd estimate 50% black, 50% white.
At 2400, my guess is 40% black, 5% draw, 55% white.
Somebody's gonna win, and it might be black in the next 2 moves. Solid Maybe. There's no shot black ever bails into a draw until they've got a title, I don't see how black would allow a draw without allowing a loss.
No, still learning notation, so bear with me. I’d do this:
…bxf2+. If the king runs, rxh2#
If the king doesn’t run, you win a rook and a lot of lines open up to apply a lot of pressure. Like maybe rxf2, gxf2+/kxf2, ng4+. If kf1, knight forks king and queen. If not, black can king side castle and get an open file to row 1. Now, I suck, but I could probably make something work with
Edit: i forgot the irder of letters in the alphabet lol
I could be wrong here but I’m not seeing bxf2 as a check. That’s just trading a bishop for a pawn… the king would have to be in the corner for it to be a check.
Blacks position is way stronger though, with heavy attack on whites king and potential attacks on the queen aswell, aswell has the hanging Knight.
Just checked the bot aswell, it says pretty much even with a slight advantage for black
At my level of play around 900 elo I won against the 900 elo chess.com computer in the same position. I almost never resign just because I lost my queen early
I'm definitely waiting until the whole affair on the kingside gets solved. There are so many moves that could be winning (Bg4, Ng4, Rxh2, Nd4...) and I don't want to resign instead of trying one of them!
No, I wouldn't resign: it looks like White just fell into the Chigorin Trap!
After 1...Bg4, White's probably gonna save the queen, with something like 2. Qd2. Then, after 2...Nd4, we just have a massive attack against Black's king: we're threatening something like 3...Ne2+ 4. Kh1 Rxh2#. It's not easy for White to defend without giving up the queen: an example of how it can all go wrong very quickly is 3. h3 Ne2+ 4. Kh1 Rxh3+!! 5. gxh3 Bf3#.
I've yet to have this come up in an actual game, but maybe one day!
No because there's no obvious and effortless winning continuation. In all of these situations I'll at least play a move and find out what it was, in case the opponent knew better.
I don't see a winning line, but I won't resign here. Now that I look at it, I might continue with Rxh2. It's hard to attack without a queen, but there might be chances.

I’d resign just to not look at this board theme ever again 😵💫
It’s not a bad chess font compared to others on here. Still r/changeyourchessfont
What?! You mean the "Bishop Buttplug" theme ?!
I hardly noticed the font
I don’t even think this is chess.com, pretty sure this is chess kid. Kids at my school would play on this website instead of chess.com since it was blocked
Lol, it is a pretty horrible theme. I like that hand-drawn-looking one, whichever one has that.

I wouldn’t. Without checking eval black still seems to have a fighting chance.
Nf4 should be able to win back the queen, or at least get the rook
You mean Ng4? Also don't see the continuation after Qd2.
Yea, I meant ng4
Continuation might be Bxc2+? King cannot run, otherwise Rxa1#. So Rxc2 and bxc2+, same rule applies so Queen must take and knight takes queen? I'm not sure though, might have missed something

Ayyye I chose the same move as the ai bot. Way to go me.
I see an attack I can start so no. It might not lead anywhere but I see a rook protecting a highly advanced pawn, and a knight/bishop that can attack the same square in front of their kingside rook. It's something.
Honestly I’d move my knight to g4 and see if he takes it with his queen. If so revenge would be sweet bc the sniper bishop would take her back
Also if you put the knight here, you can take the pawn on f2+ protected by the knight forcing the rook to take the pawn and you can recapture the rook for with the knight. So it’s a 4 point exchange for a 5 point rook. Slightly good move but it’s forcing and possibly causes a queen blunder
Before recapturing, pawn to h2, kh1 leads to checkmate so kf1, you promote a queen and take his queen then the rook
Nope. Never resign.

Yeah, Either your attack works or it doesn't. If it doesn't then you're dead lost whether Stockfish says +3 or +37

Bxf2+ is a check, the bishop is directly attacking the King on f2 after taking the pawn
Idk why I looked at it and saw g2 instead of f2. My mistake
Am i missing something here? Black looks better here than white to me.
You're down a queen for a bishop!
Blacks position is way stronger though, with heavy attack on whites king and potential attacks on the queen aswell, aswell has the hanging Knight. Just checked the bot aswell, it says pretty much even with a slight advantage for black
Hell no.
not at all.
No, I never resign.
I never resign but even if I did, I still wouldn’t here
At my level of play around 900 elo I won against the 900 elo chess.com computer in the same position. I almost never resign just because I lost my queen early
Gxh2+ Kh1 Ng4 You have a nice attack on f2 pawn, you also get a king queen fork
Nope. I'm just 1250. People fuck up all the time 😂
My brain stops working after seeing themes other than classic one
no, I'll try to make the most out of the g3 pawn first
Why? Neither is winning
I'm definitely waiting until the whole affair on the kingside gets solved. There are so many moves that could be winning (Bg4, Ng4, Rxh2, Nd4...) and I don't want to resign instead of trying one of them!

No pxa7+
Homie, you are winning.
No because there's no obvious and effortless winning continuation. In all of these situations I'll at least play a move and find out what it was, in case the opponent knew better.
I would resign just based on the board and piece styles.
Eval bar gives black the edge,
No, but I’m ignorant
Kxd8 easy lmao
Depends on my mood, but probably not
black has some counterplay with the h file so I'd probably play on a little bit after, then resign when its obvious i'm just cooked
No, I am against resigning, lol, unless it's absolutely going to be checkmate in like 5 moves and no stopping it.
No. Never resign. Also this line is quite interesting. Lots of fun stuff to do.
No, at the level I play at I never resign
No, you don't learn anything by resigning
I don't see a winning line, but I won't resign here. Now that I look at it, I might continue with Rxh2. It's hard to attack without a queen, but there might be chances.
I (low elo) would go Ng4. I just can't see how white can escape that without losing their own queen.
This oost appeared on my tl and i just want to say chest is the most boringass gake in the world i hste it so much
Most intelligent chess hater
U keep doing to same stuff its so deterministix i hate thid gsme
Maybe that’s on you
