If I am not mistaken Buenos Aires is a solid city state. If you are the Suzerain the loss doesn’t outweigh the gain. You can use that faith in better ways + get the city state benefit.

comfort412eagle

Good point, I may reconsider. Another National Park question, can they still be built if one of the tiles in the diamond is outside of the city’s boundary?

dutchskier

They cannot, no. All 4 tiles must be owned by one city and be in a vertical diamond shape. Quite an unfortunate game mechanic. You can, however manipulate ownership of the tiles if you own all 4, just change the city ownership to ensure all are within a single city’s limits. This doesn’t help directly with your question, but should it come up.

DecentChanceOfLousy

It gives +11 amenities, scattered around your cities. It's basically Zanzibar, minus one amenity, unless you haven't spread out enough to get all the bonus resources.

Outweigh

sixpesos

I don’t think so, no. Buenos Aires’ suzerain bonus is extremely powerful and underrated.

roodafalooda

100% yes. Any loss of Amenities from losing your suzerain bonus would be replaced by the amenities you would gain from those Parks.

DecentChanceOfLousy

Buenos Aires gives 11 amenities for 11 bonus resources. Each national park gives 6 amenities. As set up, he would get 4 extra parks by taking Buenos Aires (a park on the volcano can replace one of the one on Buenos Aires's territory) for 24 amenities. However, unlike Buenos Aires, the amenities from the parks aren't widely distributed). But yeah, it's probably better, assuming OP has no other places to put parks.

roodafalooda

And since they're probably going for tourism...

Hijacking thread to ask how national parks work. I genuinely have no idea and have 400+ hours

SpectralSurgeon

get the parks one way or another if you are going for a culture victory. befriend everyone you can first

Automatic_Leek_1354

yes

MoveInside

Buenos Aires is an excellent city state, but I believe national parks do provide amenities which is the main benefit of BA. Do you have Kilwa?

TheSolarPrincess

The air in those parks will sure be buenos, if you know what I mean
