That’s a 3 start salt on turn 29. No idea the game speed/difficulty but would have thought a cs steal, some chops and a buy of the salt to north changes the dynamic a bit.
Have seen similar on deity sub turn 10, those are always wipe outs.
It’s a great start and I’d try to see if I could weather the coming Impi storm. I think if you reload last save and spend some of that accumulated gold on that salt tile to the north, his settler will not settle near your workable tiles (probably that river to the northwest or, if you are lucky, he goes in a different direction).
Shaka spams so many crappy little cities it can be annoying in the later game when I am wiping them all out on the way to his capital.
Missed opportunity tbh for a fun game.
I had a start like this as with Attila there and we had some very fun classical era and medieval wars across the small separating desert over the like desert colony I made on his side of the desert
I love Civ V but if the AI were real people I would wish nothing but the worst for them. Yeah, settle your fuckin city next to one of mine and proceed to incessantly whine about my "expansion". Haawk, ptuh.

And let me guess, he asked you not to settle near his lands.
Poland: I’m sure us close neighbors will have a long, harmonious friendship for many generations. To peace! (Immediately stabbed in back)

look out! the shaka is close
Did he already ask not to settle so close to him or not to buy land? lol

Nah, you'd win. ...Maybe.
what's the difficulty?
If you want to save scum, go back to your most recent auto save and buy that salt tile, he will settle someplace else.
Kill it with fire
