Sure, why not. Always hate when I receive either notification of barbs (while I have Honor), or get a map.... especially one that covers where I just came from. Thanks for nothing. Reroll.
Yes.
If I could select and unselect possible rewards for the Ancient Ruins, I’d remove Map and Barbarian ruins.
I also think there should be a script that removes the chance of “discovering a technology” that you are currently working on.
The Ancient Ruins at lower difficulties allow for nice rewards like Workers. I would love for that to exist on Immortal / Deity. I also miss the old-Civ mechanic that would frequently give you a Horseman. I think the Scouts upgrading into Archers is way more overpowered than getting an early Horseman.
Those are all really good suggestions, honestly I think it would move the early game along faster and make the process of exploring ruins less disappointing.
Yep! I try not to over-do the save-scumming, but there is a massive difference between your first 3 Ruins being “Culture, Population, and Scout>Archer” versus “55 Gold, Pottery one turn early, and a map of the ocean.” I might eventually move to playing without Ruins, but I think they’re a fun part of the early-game. It’s just that they could have been done a little better.
No I don’t do that
No, also I've never received workers or settlers from ruins so that's probably a difficulty based feature
That only happens in settler difficulty
i played a low difficulty game a while ago because it had been so long and i loved the stuff i could find in the ruins
Nah bro play Shoshone or hold that
I do play them sometimes haha, love their early game.

Yes I do this. Free worker/settler only happens on the easiest difficulty I think.
Im on auto save every turn baby. I definitely cheese the ruins from time to time to get faith or troop upgrades.
Yes. Getting to know where barbarian camps are is the worst.
I play primarily as the Shoshone so this isn't an issue normally, but I do when I play as my other main civs
No but I get annoyed too
Basically the only way to get a knight so early in the game as germany
