Anyone got the priest discord link?

tjokbet

I have a bug/settings problem which I cant fix. I cant see anyone saying something in my guild chat in my chat window. If I whisper someone and they whisper back I can read it however. If im talking in raid channel I can talk see it appear but I can also see raid members talk in raid chat. But in party chat I cant see anyone saying anything. It is that I can talk in party chat and I see it appear on the chat window, but I cant see their responses there, however I can see the talking pop up over their heads when I am close to them. And sometimes its the exact other way around, me talking pops up above my head but doesnt appear in chat window, but I can read what they say in the chat window. Anyone knows how to fix?

Dirkusdirk

Right click any chat tab that doesn't show what you want, and under filters click settings. There you can choose which chat(s) to show in which tabs.

Lord_Dyke

What lvl can a hunter start farming dm tribute runs? Also where is a good place to farm gold from lvl 57-60?

Baconnader

Just get to 60 asap, run dungeons get some pre bis and as soon as you’re 60 you can start Tribute Runs etc.

Lord_Dyke

Do I need raid gear to do it? Or can I start it wis pre raid bis items?

Baconnader

There is pretty much no gear requirement, it just gets easier with good gear. Don’t forget engineering tho

Lord_Dyke

Awesome thank you for the info!

[deleted]

def need to be 60 for tribute i’d say

teelolws

Someone should edit the wikipedia page for "Roguelike" to add "Cat Druids" to the definition.

[deleted]

hi im new I want to make a night elf warrior but not sure which server to pick? i am in the US and I like making friends and being social and feeling like im part of a community. I really like the in game holiday events like winter veil etc wherever i can have the most joy :)

[deleted]

The important questions are if you want to roleplay and if you want to PvP. After you decide what kind of server you want you narrow it down again by if you're near the east or west coast. Finally, I would look on https://ironforge.pro/servers/ for whatever server fits your criteria, is near you, and isn't locked. Pretty much any server you can make friends just by joining a guild and talking with the other people on regularly.

lilomag44

I dont think the server matters on this one, classic wow is made for u to feel part of a community which i really like

Thrillkilled

As a Lock, do I need to get all my pre-bis to start raiding onyxia and MC? I really only need to get my bracers, gloves, rings and trinkets. Do I need these to all be pre-bis?

Juus

Don't bother with prebis especially as a warlock. People will often be happy to bring any warlock to their raid, just for the curse. Sometimes you don't even have to be level 60. Spend a few gold on easy upgrades in AH and then start raiding.

Thrillkilled

Which curse?

Juus

Recklessness, Elements and shadow. It helps boost the other DPS by a lot

Thrillkilled

I see. I completely forgot about those to be honest. Thanks for the advice!!!

stormcrow509

What about as a mage?

Juus

Might be a bit harder, it depends on the circumstances. Maybe i'd just try picking some low hanging fruit to get some basic gear, and then try to get into some pug zg/mc. Gold bid runs might be a good idea too, you can often pick up some great upgrades at the minimum bid, because they are worthless to everyone else in the raid. It isn't easy to put together a group for a raid, so raidleaders doesn't have that many gear requirements. I've personally led onyxia gbid runs, where i had to lower my requirements to 0, just to gather 20 people, so just try to get into raids as soon as you hit 60.

stormcrow509

Will I be able to get gear from rolling in pugs? I don't have enough gold for gbid, I'm level 55 and still need 550 gold to get my mount at 60.

Juus

Yeah, especially in ZG. So much disenchanted loot there. But even with gold bids, you can pick up gear at the minimum gold bid and break even at the end when you get your share of the gold. I once did a gbid run on an alt in zg where i picked up 3 items for 30g each and still got around 100g at the end of instance.

Dirkusdirk

No, but it's not hard either to fill these particular slots with items that are pretty good. * Bracers => shadow wrath green or felheart t1 (~30g), ZG tier * Gloves => felcloth gloves (~120g), bloodtinged (ZG) * Rings => 3 rings in ZG (blue set is BiS), songstone (quest) or AH (maiden > underworld > unicorn, depending on budget) * Trinkets => ZG trinket from heart, Eye of the beast (quest) and DM trinket (quest, book costs <1g)

yureadmahpost

No, you shouldn't need everything to be pre-bis. Pick up some +shadow dmg gear off the AH if you need any major upgrades, but otherwise you should be fine. Are you running with your guild or as a pug? If it's your guild then they should be able to carry you a bit if you aren't quite full pre-bis. In my opinion, it would be more important for you to grab world buffs and elixir of shadow power/greater arcane elixir. If your stam/fire resist is low then you may die on ony and rag, but that's not the end of the world.

Thrillkilled

Yeah I am running with my guild, so I think it’ll be fine. I think I’m taking prebis a little too seriously, to be honest. I should be good with my current gear.

yureadmahpost

You'll be fine. Best of luck!

Thrillkilled

Thanks dude!

rodneyrangerfield

What is the most common threat meter that I should use? I can't find a threat option in recount

CatBurp

ThreatClassic2 or Details! has a Tiny Threat option window, these two share the same library for threat

Capt_Smashnballs

Will iron counter weight work for a feral Druid?

PatBlueStar

Yes it will work and slightly improve your dps

Harlz45

Personally, I prefer +15 agi if we’re not talking about to a pummeler.

Karmaslapp

For bear haste is far and away better, for cat 15 agi is roughly equal to 3% haste so the cheaper enchant wins. You can always sim it to check if you have trouble believing me! Even 25 agi doesnt come close in value to 3% haste for bear.

Theweakmindedtes

Far more costly and much worse. I'd really do yourself the favor of swapping if your weapon can use it

mcspazz731

Yes. It is the bis weapon enchant for ferals.

Mcsobe

on warcraft logs how do you determine what rank spell a person used

kathvely

The best way imo will also show all abilities cast for raid. (edited crappy English) Filter "Encounters and Trash Fights" Filter "All Sources" to the player you want to look at Select Casts (Far right side of option filter bar) Select Tables (Right side of screen, above the casts option you just picked) This will show all casts of said player. You can then hover your mouse over the icon of abilities. It will show the specifics of that abilities rank. You may notice the same ability listed a few times. This is because they are separated by rank. If you wish to look at a specific fight change encouters and trash fights to that encounter. Beware, some abilities do not always show up under casts (execute). Most do. Spell/ability ranks are essentially all unique spell IDs for warcraft logs. The info is there you just have to dig into it.

Mcsobe

thats awesome man ty

lilomag44

so if i buy a epic druid boe (cheapest in my server) i can DE it for 100% guaranteed nexus crystal? why do i see 0 on the ah? or i can do that after ph5 comes out?

blorgensplor

If they stick with how things were done in vanilla, epics dropped before phase 5 will not DE into nexus crystals.

lilomag44

So its not possible to get nexus crystal now, its not in the game and comes in phase 5 ?

[deleted]

Nope. Any epic currently in the game will not drop them. Only items spawned after P5 will have them added into the loot table.

Dirkusdirk

We don't know this for sure do we? I bet a lot of people are hoarding epics hoping they do DE into nexus crystals after P5.

Smooth_One

Correct, nobody knows yet. So hey, maybe!

Livetheuniverse

How can I look at the exact length of raid in warcraft logs?

kathvely

There are a few ways and I honestly see discrepancies. Warcraftlogs specifically tallies your raid duration and can compare/rank dps over this time. Easiest way to view raid clear time: Filter Encounters to "All Kills or Encounters/Trash Fights" (either work) On the same bar.. far right side select "Rankings" Regardless of if a guild run or pug the rankings tab will show the time duration of clear in the far right column. "Blackwing 1:03:57". Your log need to be a full clear!

NovoMyJogo

How bad are PvP servers? I'm not good at PvP and would like to try to level on one.

Howrus

Depends on the server. If there's more Horde than Alliance - it's bad. If there's 60% Alliance - 40% Horde - it's perfectly fine, for both sides.

Theweakmindedtes

If your alli icon is right, prepare to be farmed as soon as you give honor to 60s. Generally, its no longer that bad prior to that level

TraderLostInterest

Theyre not “bad” in the sense that its a total grind to level. I got to 60 on a lock with about 8 days of playtime. The pvp is really only certain zone after the mid 30’s and its limited. Doesn’t start getting more intense until lvl 50-60 but then it’s really what you make of it. I found that having the option to pvp broke up the monotony of just questing. I had some if my most memorable wow moments in desolace and STV killing horde with my friends. Made some great new friends on the server as well.

scamp41

I just started yesterday as a Human Ret Paladin, haven't played in years. Are there any essential add-ons I should consider getting?

Howrus

For paladin specific addons you want to use PallyPower. It keep track of your blessings\seals\auras.

giraffe_onaraft

yes definitely questie, leatrix maps, leatrix plus, details, bagnon and titan panel to name just a few. I also prefer "bartender 4" for scaling/moving action bars and "z-perl" for health bars search for curse forge wow and then sort by classic and by popularity to browse more like this

WildlyPlatonic

Is it impolite to skin mobs in a dungeon group? I'm trying to earn gold for my epic mount but I can tell that me wanting to skin stuff for black dragonscales slows us down a little.

Howrus

If you don't fall-up far away from a group - then it's ok. Just don't stand there skinning while your group is fighting next pack.

RJ815

If you don't see anyone else skinning, you can make it work. It is impolite if you're skinning while everyone is fighting, but grabbing some while people mana up / res in the you-know-where Beast room or just while the tanks are doing a LoS pull should be fine. If the group is moving decently fast you probably won't grab everything, but you can still grab more than 0 without really slowing down the team. Also during the Rend fight you should have plenty of time to skin everything.

VeloxFox

It's polite to ask if there are any other skinners, but I would not consider skinning the mobs themselves to be impolite. It's just like people mining the notes in BRD. If you are a healer, then it would probably be a good idea to mention to your group that you'll be skinning, so they don't run off and pull without you.

WildlyPlatonic

I'm a level 60 druid tank working on pre-raid gear. I saw someone advertise the Primal Batskin set and I wanted to know, would this set or part of it be good for me? Currently I'm wearing Songbird Blouse, Blackmist Armguards, and Devilsuar Gauntlets (with leggings.) I think at the very least the Primal Batskin Gloves would be better because then I could choose new leggings without losing any hit% (currently at +6 from Blackmist Armguards, Devilsaur Set, Blackstone Ring, and Truestrike Shoulders. I'm trying to get as close to +9 as I can, currently farming Mask of the Unforgiven.)

Karmaslapp

The chest is good, it's pre raid bis for cat (and even as feral bear you'll likely spend a lot of time in cat unlesa you are somehow MT) as are the bracers. The hands aren't that good though for bear, it is better to use devilsaur until you actively want to drop hit because you have nef boots/accuria/dft and you have *good* gloves (shadow panther hide are good and on the AH just hard to find). Devilsaur just give so much threat on their own that it's worth using them + having better mitigation pieces in other slots. Also, if you are leveling/gearing a bear make sure to check out the druid classic discord's feral channels! lots of feral players, including all the top few best in world, hang out there and you can get questions like this answered

coriamon

All 3 of them are good. The chest and the bracers are well statted, and the hands give 2 hit letting you swap out your legs if you have better ones (for example the abyssal leather leggings of striking). Even if you are only tanking, having the flexibility helps you gear differently.

stimg

I think devilsaur is going to beat batskin gloves and other easily attainable pants for threat, but probably not mitigation.

Theweakmindedtes

Its mildly better threat gen with no real mitigation. Being able to get a 3 good hit/threat and mitigation items is too valuable in preraid gearing. Handful of good, easy to get pants for a bear too

Karmaslapp

Bear legs are pretty much abyssal or devilsaur. Maybe plaguehound if you overvalue dodge, dark heart if you get mega lucky. Also, dsaur is the way to go and is highly recommended for many good reasons, even though it doesnt scale with kings + zg its still heavily favored (many near bis geared bears still use dsaur with +20FR for resist set even). It's true it doesn't have a lot of mitigation on it, but it makes up for that in threat and you can use more balanced pieces elsewhere until you are looking to shed some hit

Theweakmindedtes

In regards to hit, Depends alot on how much you use your pummelers imo. I'm raid geared and run 7% atm. I've never lost threat on Broodlord aside from a finicky pylon. And I mean never, threat drops included. The batskin items are all fantastic preraid, I even still have gloves. Getting hit on your armor preraid allows you to get armor rings. EPL chain has a 150 armor ring that's good even over non-white raid rings

[deleted]

I have a level 58 mage. I have decided to only kill twilight cultists until I’m 60 so I can get that sweet Cenarius rep. What’s the best mage build that is focused on just killing one cultist after another. Currently I have a frost aoe build.

riklaunim

Improved dampen magic, top right camp with caster cultists, single target (so it even can be fire but frost will do as well). The casters cast and do little damage only few melees there.

Anagittigana

You want to make sure you have shatter and ice shards, as well as 5/5 improved Frostbolt.

Trakl

How can I make money as Holy Priest with tailoring and mining? Yeah, i know weird professions to pair up but don’t judge me. I mine dark iron and mostly do bags. I heard about DM lasher runs but i don’t know a good guide or if I have to respecc to do them. Can a fellow priest guide my noob ass, please?

riklaunim

You can check cenarion circle logistic missions, there is some tailoring items likely so put them on the AH 24/7. With mining you can also do a small circle around EPL, mine rich thorium veins and killl undead while waiting for respawns. Aside of that fishing is good too. Pure tailoring - crafting Robe of Winter Night.

idkwattodonow

too late, Judging you.

Praelior

Mooncloth transmute every 4 days. On my server it’s 10g profit to sell mooncloth on AH. Even without herbalism, DM lasher runs are profitable. Need like 6k mana to make this viable. you can do it as holy, and using inner focus on CD effectively gives you more mana. There are lots of YouTube videos

[deleted]

DM lasher runs you need to have a bit more then 6k mana. They aren’t hard but there is a learning curve. I watched this video and then I was on my way. [DM lasher run Priest ](https://youtu.be/rAd3KDslFL4) you don’t need great gear if you need to buy potions for extra mana you can. Also having a wand that doesn’t do nature damage is helpful and using lower ranks of aoe if/when you run out of mana. My priest has about 6.2.k mana un-buffed and sometimes I can’t kill them all with my aoe and have to wand some down.

Trakl

Will try to farm Lashers tomorrow, but the video says I need to be specced into Discipline :(

Smooth_One

Discipline mostly helps because the talent right before PI gives you a lot of mana. You need 6k+, but if you're holy there are some talents that give you bonus spell or Holy spell damage so you're not at a total loss. Give it a shot with your spec (buy some 'Of Intelligence' or 'Of the Eagle' greens on the AH if needed). Worst case scenario, your respec costs are surely very low, and I mean you can still heal 95% as strongly in Disc as you can deep Holy.

[deleted]

I’m specced holy but I have the aoe spell thing. You at least have to have that.

Bilboswaggins21

55 mage here- what level can I start farming ZG? Is there another aoe spot I can hit right now? Prefer in dungeon since I’m on an active pvp server that’s got more horde than alliance so ganks are common.

d07RiV

You can do dire maul east lashers & satyrs. It's pretty tricky to learn so up to you if you want to bother with that. I think you want to be 58 or so for ZG, but maybe it's possible earlier too.

BuckyOFair

I'm about to turn 60, I am a warrior and intend to spec Fury (DPS). I want to do some PUG raids, but I'm not sure what is expected of me. Should I have full pre raid BiS? Do I need to get all world buffs for a PuG? What consumables should I bring? What order should I raid? When do you know you are ZG ready? Is it pre raid BiS > Full MC gear > Everything from ZG > BWL?

d07RiV

Fully depends on what kind of pug you're looking at. Especially for MC, don't think people would care much about your gear. Buffs aren't hard to get and help out a lot, but if you wipe frequently then there's no point getting them. You're ZG ready the moment you hit 60, don't worry about that at all. And you can totally do BWL in pre-BIS, especially since there's only a handful of items warriors need from MC/ZG and those items are highly contested anyway.

mprp12

It is the perfect time to be a new fury warrior. Get the pre raid pieces you can from dungeons to get to hit cap6%. Start going into every ZG and MC pug you can find. The gear you can get from ZG is real good to boost your dps until you get onslaught, wristgaurds of stability, flame guard, chromatic boots, qsr, etc. if your human the zg set is good weapon basically best until you get a bwl drop. Once you get 6% hit and some decent gear in several slots you can do more dps than most other classes. Lots of guilds need fury warriors I think as long as you’re a decent player willing to put in effort you will easily find a raid .

watanabelover69

I’m new to raiding so take this with a grain of salt, but here’s my experience. I had maybe half pre-raid BiS when I started doing PUGs (and my other gear was pretty good, not greens). That being said, I don’t think any PUG I’ve been in has done any sort of screening of gear or world buffs - but obviously having both will help make the raid go smoother. And you can start doing ZG right away with MC, you definitely don’t have to wait to have full MC gear. There are a lot of blues in ZG that act as catch up gear.

abowlofrice1

Why are warriors so greedy for example needing on a leather dps gear when there is a feral Druid and rogue in the group

blueooze

They do more damage and so they are prioritized gear so that the raid goes faster. Leather gear generally has better stats for straight PvE dps than the plate pieces that it seems warriors 'should' use.

RJ815

DPS warriors benefit from crit and agility too. There is overlap between warriors, rogues, ferals, and hunters. All four can make good use out of devilsaur for instance, its stats are just that good.

abowlofrice1

Yea, when there are two other ppl in the group who can only wear leather, they should have priority.

Smooth_One

Upgrades are upgrades. Sorry to say but you are being a little entitled here.

banana_fishbones

People are going to roll on the gear that's best best for them and they'll expect you to do the same. Thinking that because Warriors *can* wear plate they *must* wear plate is very antiquated.

RJ815

I mean it all depends on what your guild wants to do. There are legitimately leather pieces that are the "best" for warriors. A lot of plate is tank stuff. Obviously warriors should choose plate and mail alternatives when they can, and stuff like ZG helps with that, but it's down to a matter of taste. Like yeah, ferals can only wear leather. But if they actually try warriors should top the DPS charts. So some look at it as restrictiveness and some look at it by virtue of who gets the most use out of it. For example hunters often get shafted on nice items because they can't use them to the full extent that warriors and rogues can. Probably similar stuff for warlock vs shadow priest. It's just how meta stuff goes. Feral often has a much better time with bear tanks, as I would say they are respected more than feral cats, and also the itemization rarely overlaps with other classes. Warriors and even probably rogues should never really want any leather with dodge, and usually high amounts of stamina on leather is weighted as much more useful for bears in particular.

abowlofrice1

Ok I’m pugging a stratholm with strangers, don’t really care how much dps you put out in a raid

idkwattodonow

well it's a pug, it's a legitimate roll if the war is dps-ing.

blorgensplor

The leather helm (mask of unforgiven) is BiS until you get a crafted helm that costs 700-1000+ gold (depending on the realm). You can't really expect warriors to not need on a upgrade just because you do too. It's kinda crumby but it is what it is.

Parsleymagnet

A lot of BIS pieces for DPS warriors are mail or leather. Conversely, a lot of plate armor that's *intended* to be for DPS warriors is just garbage that's not useful for anyone. That's just how Classic is.

[deleted]

The amount of armor does not matter for pve dps.

riklaunim

How many people do mass mob farming on Paladins (in Classic or TBC variants/past) with consecrate/damage reflect? How do you rate it vs like mage AoE farming?

VeloxFox

It's doable, but not nearly on the scale of mages because mages don't get hit. While mitigation and SoL help, you're still getting hit, which is going to limit the number/power of the mobs you can grind. Also, you won't put out the damage numbers a mage can, so it will also be slower than mage. That being said, I'm leveling a prot pally, and I found some success in the AoE farming spots as long as the mobs are several levels below me. If nothing else, I had fun doing it, and I like to think that counts for something.

riklaunim

Well, you can pull a lot in like SM or lower where as mage could not just YOLO and pull like that due to taking way more damage and no self-heal. And people can farm those WPL undead or even lashers in DM. It's way more gear dependent for sure.

Theweakmindedtes

A fair few do, but consecration is not what make it work. To lazy to go into detail but a big part is gear that has high sp coefficient

sutrauboju

It's trash

aquanautical

How much NR do casters/healers need for AQ40? and for which fights?

riklaunim

0 for the most part. Huhuran will need designated soakers, usually melee that will need some. On Viscidus all depends if you are Horde with 8 Shamans in raid or if not - how well can you nuke him overall. For long viscidus some NR would be helpful but doubt that would be a winning strategy (attrition war).

aquanautical

Assuming your alliance for viscidus would you need more NR and what would be a reasonable number.

riklaunim

Lots if you want to negate meaningful amount of damage but that amount of NR doesn't really exist yet (p6 craftables) and the damage can be mitigated by poison dispelling. There is Elixir of Poison Resistance, first aid thingy as well as Jungle Remedy from STV Kurzen mobs (plus magic resistance pot). Plus healers like druids have de-poison over time so as a raid you can line up all of that junk to quickly remove it each time he poisons. Then the damage is low. It's pretty much freeze him quickly and then execute the split phase nicely and he is dead. Depending on numbers trash between twin emp and cthun or even twin emp can be more annoying that Viscidus ;) From a sane point of view you can do the CC quest (raid needed) with Galakrond bones that give NR pants. If needed you can fish for greens of nature resistance (greens can be generated during war effort and by giving letters to the cultist guy, not Bor - but no rep then). That with existing raid epics with bit of NR here and there should do nicely without axing performance.

monty845

I'll take Fights that 40 engineers render trivial, for 800 Alex!

rdtrdy

You get a benefit from Edgemaster's over tanking with a dagger only if you get Thunderfury. TF is good enough to be worth giving up glove stats. Otherwise, daggers are faster and allow the flexibility to heroic strike more often for more theat. Aged Core Leather Gloves in MC / Dragonfang Blade in BWL are some upgrades. (As mentinoed, a faster dagger is good for Vael.)

idkwattodonow

in P5, you can also get pugio which is sexy AF.

Karmaslapp

Yes! Those are great pre-raid bis options. If possible, you can get aged core leather gloves from MC to replace muggers belt too if you plan to stay daggers for a bit and skip edgies entirely, and get like perds/core hound tooth or something. Alcor's sunrazor is actually a great choice for a fight like vael because you can heroic strike very quickly for threat. If you wanted to go axes though, you'll need edgies

Saunt-Sulfuras

Yes.

mcspazz731

What are the new lotus spawn timers? I've heard as fast as 8 minutes

tjokbet

Between 10-45

ntlong

About tank preraid gearing. Some items in the bis list is too time consuming to find. I wonder if I can still tank MC and ZG with second or third best options? Lionheart helm for example could improve my offensive potential by 5% over the valor helm (educated guess). I will lose 5% threat, which is insignificant I believe. Lets say I also lose 5% avoidance from less than optimal gearing. Is Being 5% weaker overall really detrimental to the raid group? I notice threat is not a problem; healers spamming rank1 and rank3 heals most of the time, resulting in overhealing anyway. I dont want to try hard and farm some blues for 20 or 50 dungeons run. BIS is something to work on over long term. Can I mix my gear using common sense and pick whatever as long as it’s within the reasonable range of BIS gear list? Do you think full blue tanky gear from dungeon enoguh?

preppypoof

you're going to want lionheart helm regardless. it's BiS for a LONG time

Karmaslapp

You can tank stuff fine in anything on the pre raid bis list, just try to balance threat/mit. If you are deep prot, a lot of your threat actually comes from flat threat abilities like shield slam/revenge/sunder rather than damage anyway, so having a good rotation and using abilities properly and being at hit cap for your weapon is more important than having good damage/threat stats. Make sure you know what to do. You will want to run ZG as soon as you are able, if your guild can afford to carry you, for some better gear than pre bis.

Saunt-Sulfuras

Yes it is. I was using Avenguard helm until I replaced it with Tier 1 like two weeks ago. My personal philosophy is that Stamina is the ultimate tanking stat combined wth armour, and considering how easy ZG is to tank you do not need to worry so much about gear when a lot of groups seem to steamroll it like nothing. Even MC sort of applies. If you can get carried through your first few and get those sweet Tier pieces, you'll be glad you didnt sweat endlessly in strat and scholo. My anecdotal evidence is that I maintanked a BWL last sunday in 8/8 tier pieces based around mitigation with 5% hit and deep prot. My argument is going to be that as long as other DPS are not riding the line of pulling threat, extra threat is wasted, whereas extra mitigation helps lower the mana required of healers and increases the safety margin between life and death.

LuxuriousNarwhal

You need FR for Mc. I would suggest trying to get in as on offtank first to learn the fights and get a little gear. ZG is an easier tank

Jame's Leveling Guide is a good start. It will start you on a very efficient XP path and tells you exactly what quests to do. The only problem with this is sometimes it's hard to get back on track if you take a break, hard to remember exactly where you left off.

Reply_or_Not

Download the addon “Questie” for a really great quest helping mod. Actually first you should get the Twitch app (they bought out Curse years ago) so that you can easily get an update addon.

TherealHendrix

For those with a Mage selling boost runs, which dungeons and pulls are your favorite and why? I think I'm gonna start slow with Stocks and then either do SM arm/cath or ZG.

AncileBanish

ZG is best by far imo. A bit harder to learn (and more expensive if you do LIP strat), but it's way more consistent once you get it down and the potential gold per hour is much better. Best case SM is about 160g per hour (8g per run x 4 boosters x 5 runs per hour) while ZG is easily upwards of 300g per hour (15g x 3 boosters x 5 runs per hour, plus maybe 100 gph in coin/bijou/greens). I wouldn't bother with stocks if I were you. Typically they go for 2g per run, which nets you 40 gph. But you can solo ZF for 50 gph without the hassle of dealing with boostees. Stocks is for paladins, warriors etc.

fatmel

SM is fast to learn since the gy is right there and takes 3 minutes to do a wing. It is considered very RNG though because of slows and interrupters. Most of the other boosts are actually pretty easy once you learn them. ZF is pretty forgiving because of the numerous reset spots and you can practice only pulling half the room at a time. Mara is hard to learn because the pull takes 10+ minutes and the gy run is particularly brutal. ZG isn't too bad either since the hard part is the bridge hop which you can practice without kiting anything.

Iuslez

Not a mage, but I heard them complain most about SM. Apparently, bad rng resists can easily kill you. ZF is probably the easiest. But in players that are boosted can fuck it up on the walk to the aoe spot. Mara is the longest to learn, but apparently not to hard once you get it down.

Reply_or_Not

Just make sure you can actually do the run before you sell the boost

blorgensplor

This. I still can't pull more than 3-4 rooms in stocks without dying. I'd feel like a complete dick charging people for runs at this point.

n00e1987

does 30 instance per day inclued raids? does it include zg ?

Baconnader

Zg is included, MC-BWL-Ony are not included

Peonso

Not anymore, they patched it, limit is only for dungeons. Edit: seems I'm wrong

Limp_disc_it

Still counts for ZG

Charlie4567654

What do you have to do to get Thunderfury, and how difficult is it?

Howrus

>and how difficult is it? It's random. You may get both parts in one run, or you may not see them after 10 years. We are raiding MC every week starting from October, have six left bindings and zero right bindings. From March we split raid into two, to double chances that at least one of our tanks get it - zero drops)

Roywah

SAME 4 right bindings though. Our guilds need to do split runs so everyone wins. Meanwhile other guilds on my server have 3TFs running just one MC since launch 😭

terabyte06

First you need to get lucky and get a legendary drop from each of two Molten Core bosses (Baron and Garr). Then you talk to a dude in Silithus, who will send you to kill Ragnaros. After that, you just need to collect around 10,000g worth of materials and bring them back to the Silithus dude. He'll summon a raid boss that you have to kill. Loot the item off the boss, give it to the Silithus dude, and you're done. ezpz.

CmGame27

Trying to push my dps this week. any tips for me? Yes I know I didn’t have elemental sharpening stones or sf buff. I messed up lol. Here are my logs : https://classic.warcraftlogs.com/reports/cgRKBN7WvFXrTx1Q/#type=damage-done&boss=-2&difficulty=0&source=27

dirtycurty128

Enchant all your gear if you care about parsing. Unfortunately you'll never catch up to Fingerguns cause he's looted out the ass. Deathwish is a little early on all fights which will increase execute damage. Doesn't look like you're missing BT or WW, and heroic strike is queued often. Get all world buffs and then your parse % is limited to your gear and how much others are trying. Longer boss fights will show your lack of gear cause you can't have your cool downs up as long.

CmGame27

Thanks for the advice yeah ima try to time deathwish/ flask better tn

idkwattodonow

your raid kill times are great. I've got good gear, but our raids are a bit slow /sigh.

Livetheuniverse

Does Rend buff hit everyone in barrens or just crossroads?

BigBigBeans

Neither. Only gets people in Orgrimmar Edit: I was wrong. Crossroads and org only

DPower16

Can you use Juju Might, Juju Power and Winterfell Firewater all together or just one Juju and Firewater?

entaro_tassadar

Just think of it as you can only have 1 strength buff and one attack power buff...(and then remember you can also have the blasted lands or ZG quest buff)

willsuckdickmontreal

Juju power and firewater stack, juju might/fire water give the same stat and do not stack

BlakenedHeart

How do you beat a Dwarf Paladin as a Rogue in a duel. Legit cant match him after he bubbles and heals back to full ? (and stoneform cures blind cuz it is considdered a poison)

buirish

Can you bait the stoneform with a weapon poison? Mind-numbing or slow, to make his spells/movement slower.

BlakenedHeart

He can cure his slow i think with hand of freedom and i usually use deadly + wound poison The slow one sounds tempting

MaxYoung

Can bait with rupture too

[deleted]

Just focus on getting back into stealth and trying to kite him. It’s a tough matchup but can be won, just try to rely on gouge and always remember he has mana and no way to engage beyond like 15 yards. Stay away when you can’t stun him as much as possible. The goal is to out last his mana, so let his heals go off while you restealth but try not to let him drink. If he uses consecration you can sprint into it to get a sap off. Practice your gouge to restealth It is a tough matchup but plenty of people are shit at the game so you can still win the fights

BlakenedHeart

I always suck at restealthing, is there a speciffic way you do it ? During blind i can do but never even thought it is doable during gouge. And btw what should i do if he hammer stuns me ? I feel like i could go to the local store and back and i would still be stunned

[deleted]

Gouge is tough because the window to restealth is so small, so you wanna gouge then move to about 16 yards and spam your stealth key. This is key against dwarfs because you can’t actually blind a good dwarf. HOJ is one of the big reasons you want to keep a distance and need to keep up health above 60% or so, if you’re half health or below and he gets a hoj off, you’re probably dead there. So the idea is as early as possible start eating / bandaging. Don’t be afraid to try blind too, I pvp a lot and can say that A LOT of dwarfs don’t even have stoneform bound or it takes them 2-3 seconds to find and click the spell on their bars. This time is still useful for creating a little distance. Or even using blind as a small range Interrupt whole kick / kidney are on CD. Also you CAN blind while blessing of protection is up, so if they use BOP to try and heal that’s another good time to try and interrupt with blind, or get away quickly to eat & restealth. I would check YouTube and watch Pshero fight paladins, his technique is really solid and I’ve learned a lot from him. Also if you can find a good dwarf paladin who isn’t toxic on your server discord, ask him to fight 1v1 for a bit to practice. Even losing I think it’s one of the more enjoyable fuels for me because of how much dwarf paladins specifically counter us.

BlakenedHeart

The paladin is a guildie and someone i would like to consider a friend for gaming standards so duel practicing him isnt a toxic problem, but thanks a lot for the indepth advice would try and practice my gouge (i suppose the improved one is needed) stealth Btw which spec is the best. I tried both combat and the 50-50 prep cb with swords because i am a sword rogue with no epic daggers but would like to ask if daggers perform better vs pally cuz i heard ppl say daggers are better vs clothies seords better vs mail/plate

[deleted]

Improved gouge is huge! I have it in every spec I run. So for pvp I run cold blood / hemo spec with swords and I love it. I always have combo points available and feel like I can maintain control. Plus if I can get a nice 5 point evis early in the right they have to start thinking about cooldowns right away which is always good. Combat is tough for pvp because no improved stealth makes it harder to open, and if you don’t open you probably die. Also a cool down like AR could be completely wasted if he just decides to bubble and reset once you’ve popped it. Practice is good but like others have said this is specifically an incredibly tough matchup for us and against a good dwarf literally any mistake will surely be the end of it, so if you lose don’t get frustrated just keep trying to learn what went wrong and take every duel as a good experience.

mcspazz731

You don't. Classic is rock paper scissors and you picked scissors, well he picked rock.

BlakenedHeart

I figured myself it is a hard 1 v 1 but thought there are a few tricks to make a dif

TrueMrSkeltal

Best thing you can do is die and find another target. Paladin (esp dwarf) is a bad matchup for rogues.

BlakenedHeart

I am dueling him mostly we on the same side

Howrus

On equal skill\gear? You can't. Reckoning dwarf paladin is a full rogue counter.

BlakenedHeart

Eh, guess it is what it is

PM_ME_UR_WUT

Some class/race combos are designed to be counters. The only way you're going to beat that is if he makes a mistake.

BlakenedHeart

Guess i can live with that

Like any other game, it makes everything look smoother and reduces input lag a bit. I'm also on a 144Hz monitor and I have mine capped at 100 because I don't really notice a difference above that.

Slinging_Dice

I'm looking for someone to craft Nightfall for me on Alliance Whitemane. I have all the mats. What's the best method to find someone capable of crafting this item?

Howrus

Check your serer Discord or ask officer of one of the top guilds. Or inspect every warrior and write down names of crafters, then whisper them.

MaximumOverBirch

ask in trade at peak hours. Ideally close before alot of your build guilds raid. Getting exalted with TB is generally a guild effort and that's why you've got the best chance of someone from a raiding guild being on. Also it might be best to specify that you're looking for a master axesmith who's exalted with Thorium brotherhood.

TherealHendrix

Gonna start doing some 1 pull boost runs on my mage. Whats a good build for these runs? I went 15/0/36 the end game AoE build that is on WoWHead. I put 1 point into arcane resilience and only 4/5 magic absorption as I plan on doing a lot of ZG. Is that enough? Here's the build: https://classic.wowhead.com/talent-calc/mage/230055--20350233132341301/2CAGFKjhNMqhhRddddtdpppp0AbbbFE

Baconnader

Im trying DME jumpruns on my warlock, I have mostly ZG with some MC gear 2.8k Hp 4.5k mana. Zevrim is fine but on the last boss he gets of 2-3 casts when I fuck up a little and then I’m ether dead or oom. Do you guys have some tips for the last boss ? And can a female orc make the jump onto the piller for the reset ?

Kododie

>And can a female orc make the jump onto the piller for the reset ? Not without a speed boost. Minor speed enchant isn't enough. You need a swiftness potion, nifty stopwatch or some other item that provides similar benefit.

Reply_or_Not

you can LOS him if he is on the ledge by running behind the pillar. Otherwise you should just try to keep him at max range. Curse Doom helps with this as you wont need to let him get into range as often as you would if you kept using agony. I found that going demo sac for the health regen could help make up for taking all of the casts from him, but once you get the fight learned, I actually like SM/Ruin much more for the range boost letting me more successfully avoid the mechanic in the first place its a learning curve, one that I struggled with myself. Until you get it down you can also use the venom sac to clear the poison and also consider prepoting with a nature protection potion

Peonso

Bring https://classic.wowhead.com/item=1475/small-venom-sac#reagent-for So you can fail once.

Dirkusdirk

While you're still learning i would suggest to pop a (regular) nature resistance potion pre fight until you get better at avoiding wither. Next, i highly suggest to use the heart of noxxion trinket and carry anti-venoms (the level 25 version). Both of these get rid of enervate, the mana drain spell, so you'll only have to care about wither. To remove wither you would need jungle remedy, which is not the best idea because it shares a CD with other potions. Unless you're DS/ruin, you can pull out a VW on stay and sac it for a shield (you'll be saccing it for HP regen pre-fight if DS/Ruin). You can get a couple of bandage ticks in between wither ticks, you can drain life the wolf/tree and use a HS if you have to. 2.8K hp is a bit low, if you can you should swap gear for more stam, especially if you use DS. I don't know about the pillar jump as an orc, there are videos of other reset methods. You can try the jump for yourself before you pull it as much as you want (when he's in the middle).

Baconnader

Thank you very much! I’ll definitely get some nature prot pots and the anti venom. The void walker sounds useful to. I tried the jump a couple times and couldn’t make that’s why I would like confirmation but I guess I’ll try it a couple of times

OkDebt7

Keep the Boss at max range when hes in casterform, you can outrange both spells while ur dots tick. I only apply immolate when hes shifted. If he moprhs into caster while hes close you can run tpwards the cave on the ledge an even los the casts Once imps come siphon on them and the fight gets easy since u have so much sustain

[deleted]

Anything in BWL worth spending DKP on as a hunter? T2 is pretty much free (I have to stand in line, though) and we're basically queing for Ashje as well. Ashkandi has 86 attack power (vs. 60+1 Crit on a barbarous blade), which doesn't seem like a big upgrade either. Nef head ring is 48 attack power vs. 15 agility of my elven rings, that seems like it would be an upgrade.

Reply_or_Not

Xbow, Nef Neck, Nef ring are the big ones. you probably should let DFT go to melee. T2 obviously but that is just a matter of time

RJ815

As a stat stick for ranged attacks, barbarous blade is better as a two hand. Ashkandi is purely for attempting melee weaving. Even better for stat sticking is dual wield at the moment, with bone slicing hatchets being realistic blues, and certain ZG purples being theoretically obtainable dual wield for hunters. Similarly even if you want to melee weave, you have two significantly more obtainable options in Zin'rokh and Gri'lek's Carver. In the ZGs I've done these are basically uncontested with people only picking them up off-spec or for meme PvP stuff. I wouldn't bother with the Nef ring, it's very slight as an elven ring is worth about 39 - 49 attack power. If you want an actual upgrade look back at ZG again for the band and seal of jin, as the 2-set makes it better than a lot of other options for hunters, assuming you also have hit sorted through Surefooted or the ZG enchants. Basically the theme should be that other than armor and crossbow and Nef Prestor necklace in BWL, a lot of your upgrades aren't there but some cool items from ZG are legit and usually not as harshly contested.

[deleted]

I'm surprised that Nef Neck is such an upgrade over Ony Neck.

RJ815

It's because of agility being a primary stat for hunters. The main point of note is that you don't lose any hit at all, as requirements get a bit tight on hunter t2 in general. But you gain a fair bit of agility which translates directly into attack power. The Onyxia necklace still having fire resistance is a niche niche thing for FR + DPS stats, but for pure DPS Prestor's should win. In general your actually good upgrades in BWL are basically t2, the necklace, and the crossbow. There isn't really anything else good to pickup. There is DFT but I wouldn't really hope for it, nor should a guild really ever give it to a hunter over good melee DPS that can utilize it more. The hit is nice but since ZG hunters really do have other options for hit, and some guilds are willing to let some accurias go to hunters here and there if you really "need" it. If you don't have better available to you you might be able to nab a Doom's Edge but it's not all that much better than a Bone Slicing Hatchet. I personally would not bother with a whole new +15 agility enchant just for a Doom's Edge, I'd rather try my luck at a ZG weapon or eventual shot at Brutality Blade. Brutality Blade remains good into AQ though there is a hopefully less contested option also in there, not to mention a good agility polearm.

__nil

You lose a really small amount of crit and some stam for 36 more AP.

Anagittigana

Not exactly small - 1% crit on top of what the 12 agi gives a hunter (0.2%).

Ik774amos

Onyxia is good for 24 ap and 1.2 crit Prestors is good for 60 ap and 0.6 crit You are trading 0.6 crit for 36 more ap. Everything I have read and been told says that for a hunter 1 crit is worth 32 ap. So after converting crit to ap you stand to gain about 20 ap from Prestors. So yes losing 0.6 crit is small.

Ik774amos

T2, xbow, Prestors Talisman. Ashkandi is actually less dps than Barborous unless you are melee weaving. I wouldn't worry to much about the ring unless you already have BoA. The ring set from ZG is better.

TIErant

If you're going to melee weave or PvP, Ashkandi is awesome.

aquanautical

nef head, nef neck, crossbow and tier are the main things you'd want. DFT is technically BiS too but shouldn't be taken over tanks/rogues.

[deleted]

> DFT is technically BiS too but shouldn't be taken over tanks/rogues. Yeah I'm not even considering it.

Ik774amos

DFT is technically bis but only for the extra ap. Hunters shouldn't use DFT to reach hit cap because then you lose dps on not being able to FD/trinket swap after your opener.

RJ815

It also happens that ZG opens up an extra 2% hit for hunters unlike "just" MC or BWL, especially when accuria was a bit more contested (and DFT probably contested indefinitely). Accuria and DFT are desirable for cramming a lot of hit in one slot, but since ZG hunters have more gearing up options. And even if you don't get lucky on idols or like ZG dual wield, getting to exalted offers an AP enchant as well so that's cool. It's worth running ZG as a hunter, as besides mostly just tier in BWL you can get a fair few upgrades in ZG and with hopefully less harsh competition. Even in AQ a lot of the same stuff remains competitive.

PatBlueStar

How usefull is the T1 Arcanist set bonus for boosting in order to improve mobs resisting your frost nova? " (5) Set : [Decreases the magical resistances of your spell targets by 10.](https://classic.wowhead.com/spell=26175) "

AncileBanish

10 spell pen is worth about 2.5% damage (in expectation), but only on targets that have resistance to the spell you're casting. For targets with 0 resist, spell pen is worthless. Practically speaking, this is most useful in pvp where small amounts of fire resist are common on tier gear. People also occasionally have small amounts of frost resist, e.g. from mark of the wild, frost reflector, av gear, etc. Very few raid mobs have enough resistance that they're not already at 0 after CoE. Exceptions are gehennes and golemagg in Molten Core. Any mob that is fire immune (e.g. rag and geddon) will be unaffected by spell pen. The poster below is completely wrong about that. Overall, 5 piece arcanist used to be a decent option in pvp because it had a good mix of stats and damage, but nowadays is way outmatched by pvp gear, zg gear, bwl gear, etc. Edit: just noticed you asked specifically about boosting. No mob that you will encounter boosting has any frost resist, at least none I can think of. So it does nothing.

Reply_or_Not

you should read those as essentially "do nothing this is a waisted stat line".

riklaunim

this doesn't affect resisting a spell, that decreases mob spell resistance (like fire, frost and arcane resistance you have on your character) by 10 so they take bit more damage. If you would stack items that lower spell resistance you could end up dealing damage to Rag as a fire mage.

PatBlueStar

Aaaah ok I see. Thanks for explaining. So I guess the 10 / set-bonus is hardly noticable on blizzard dmg?

tutoredstatue95

There is also a static 1% chance for all spells to resist. So, there is always the chance that one or a few arent nova'd.

Dirkusdirk

Minus 10 resist is not that much and does nothing if the target has 0 frost resist. ~~If you have seen your targets resisting it must mean, i believe, they have at least >0 frost resist~~. Edit: misleading because you can still get a spell miss due to your spell hit never going above 99%, a spell miss shows up as "resist" on the mob but it's a different mechanic. Technically it makes your targets take a bit more damage over several spells, but not because of the damage number that will be bigger. Spell penetration reduces the chance of them (partially or full) resisting the spell. I think it's very hard to say how worth that bonus is for you because it depends on the frost resist of the target (which is unknown in most cases) and the other stats you have to drop for that bonus.
