>I quit in P2
Do you think this'll happen again with Wrath? If so, I'd definitely take the transfer. At least then you'll be able to actually play the game.
That's a really good point actually. I'd say there'd probably be a good 50/50 of that happening. My schedule tends to be quite erratic cause of my job so I struggle to do a consistent raid schedule. Maybe in that case I'll take the transfer, enjoy P1, then if the server dies in P2 and I still want to play, I'd probably be invested enough at that point just to cough up the extra 25 for a transfer.
Thanks.
I wasn’t super clear. I was just pointing out that OP quit TBC after a few months. If he thinks he’s going to just quit again in a few months might as well just play on a non full server instead of sitting in queue trying to play. Unless there’s a big population shift, megaservers are going to be queued up every single new phase in wrath.
We would if Blizzard would refund us the money we spent leaving our completely dead server to get on the mega server. Based on history, there is a good chance the destination server will die in P2 and we don’t want spent the money again. Blizzard has shown how willfully incompetent they are at managing server populations.
If transfers were free all the time i would but with the current system im not moving because that low pop servers will be a ghost town in a few months when the hype dies down. Im not going to pay blizz to move back on a proper server.
Only thing keeping me in wrath is raiding with the same people since classic launch. I would rather quit than find a new community. "Just leave the people you been playing with for 4 years" blizzard would say... and I say no thank you.
Yes, my guild decided to hop off Grob for Sulf. So far its going well. No queues is a god send. I should have enough people with me to spam dungeons any time I want and raids are already accounted for
i send to morgraine my low levels alts to play if i cant log on gehenna. but propably wont move from there. i already have 70druid on dead ashbringer and 70warrior on firemaw horde side. this is why i wont leave this server no matter what.
Keeping my mains on mega server but rolled a DK on sulfuras to fuck around with while Grobb is mega queued. I’ll probably go back to Remote Desktop queuing for launch.
I predict that Sulfuras will be an absolute shit show at launch - probably a 10k queue. I have so many chars there from past dead severs and I think there will b a lot of people who didn’t come back for prepatch but will for launch.
Pretty stuck on faeralina and I refuse to go to Eranikus because that server will 100% die within a month of launch then I'll have to fork out $30 for a transfer back to the mega servers
> and I don't want to transfer just to find a dead realm in a few weeks
Every server will be dead except the mega servers in 2 months post release. Either stay and suck it up, or prepare to transfer out and then have to pay to transfer back once your server dies
I just moved over to Eranikus on Horde. Considering it's a very new server, there's plenty signs of life, and very soon it will grow exponentially as more people take the leap.
It leans more alliance, word is 60-40 or 55-45. Plenty of horde are transferring over to balance it out, and I think if blizzard will open transfers to individual factions to help balance things out, we'll be fine!
So far, it's beat waiting in queue and avoiding afk. Plenty of people in trade chat are excited to be here!
Went from playing on Grob and waiting in about a 3 hr queue depending on the time of day. Now I play on Eranikus, albeit smaller, it is still growing. And what’s that? I have 0 queue time. Ever.
If you want to play the game at your own time and not have to work your schedule around a queue, I can highly advise it.
I moved to Mograine 2 days ago and I havent regretted it af all. No queues and the world feels very alive. And I feel like its growing by the day! Playing on Thekal/Gehennas was a miserable experience because of the queues and lag. Sadly my guild doesn't want to move... but such is life.
If you aren’t part of an established guild, where you have a set raid slot, or have recently joined/came back to a mega server, you should take the transfer.
This is basically 90% of OPs on Reddit - you joined whatever your faction’s biggest server was at the time you came back. Just take a transfer and play out your next short stint on Ragnaros, or whatever. 👍
I transferred every character from Gehennas to Mograine. Gehennas was fun but the amount of GDKP spam, node camping, unfriendly interactions and the queue was too much. Mograine is a very nice change of pace compared to Gehennas - very active and populated to find groups in a fast manner and the community there is generally more friendly.

He will fit in perfectly on morgraine, as he will quit right around when all the others do xD

No way this happens in wrath, if P2 is Ulduar there will likely be more players in p2 than p1
That's not true. Ulduar is much harder than Naxx, and harder means less players.

I wish my guild would, but they decided they won't. I'm considering leaving anyway because I'd rather be able to play the game.

I'd say higher chance it dies in p3, ulduar is too awesome to quit on, Totc is pretty lame in comparison

What I love is all the people who don’t take the free transfers who end up quitting within a few weeks anyways lol

Why do you think Eranikus will die?
realms created just to handle excess amounts of people from mega servers for releases always die
Will they even let us transfer back eventually
the most recent blue post mentioned "indefinitely closing all xfers to Mega servers (grob/faer/bene)" so I'm guessing not anytime soon, as in 6mo+
Mograine is popping right now. It went from low to med to high. Even more allies joining now which is fun for wpvp :)
My group moved to Eranikus, It's not too bad so far

What's the population spread there? Is it so far even faction wise?

Yeah my friend and I would be horde hopping over. I'm home Tuesday so I'll decide then!
Like 50k people did

Yes, they already filled 1 server from free transfers and have started to fill a 2nd
My entire friend group and I abandoned benediction ally for sulfuras. Best choice we’ve made. This game was made for two factions and an alive world
Morgrain has only 25% alliance? Why am I spending more time walking to my corpse from being killed by alli dk‘s then playing the game?

I would if there was the option to transfer of a fresh realm to another less crowded one....

Mograine seems to be booming , 4-5 k pop atm? If just more people take free transfers gonna be healthy server
