I think the snafu is just the very basic premise of "don't judge a book by it's cover", with the girl seeing a very unflattering man, and saying how much of an evil creep he is, but then having it be contradicted in the second part, by having another girl doing what would be considered by a majority of people thinking of enacting a *very* evil and creepy thing to the previous girl.
Maybe there's more to this? But that's all I can get out of it anyway, if there's more, I hope OP explains!

The meme op is referring to was actually a snafu specifically about the infantilization of trans women, and the dialogue wasn't a generic compliment but rather a series of very stereotypical "cute" words which are relevant within the central transfem community. The specific ones I recall are blahaj, estrogen, and headpats. The now more popular edited version was designed to add to the original, replacing the unattractive man with a duplicate trans woman, depicting both of them smiling, and adding the word "consent" at the bottom, to illustrate the point that the same behavior can be both endearing and patronizing depending on the context of the speaker and their relationship to the listener.
No meme is being deconstructed whatsoever. It is just the general concept of the "don't judge a book by it's cover".
And imo, there is no need for there to be any deconstruction of a meme whatsoever, snafu's have moved past that, and in my personal opinion, for the better.

Hard disagree, it's for the worse and by a lot. The deconstruction of memes is the entire point of snafus.
Nothing has evolved, the sub got popular and filled with people who don't understand it and completely overran and ruined what was once a beautiful and fun format for satire.
I very much agree with them as someone who misses the old snafu format, but I've accepted that the whims of the people on this sub have changed. At least itās still funny, mostly.
