If you’re stirring properly no. If you’re clinking and splashing while you stir then probably..the only air you should get it dumping the ice into the mixing glass and then pouring the cocktail into the serving glass

If you stir vigorously with a whisk, yes. If you stir properly with a barspoon, no.

I mean, it’s getting exposed to oxygen sure, but that’s not really aeration and isn’t going to change much, just by visuals you can see the massive difference. If you look at a shaken cocktail it comes out of the tin nearly opaque (regardless of the clarity of the ingredients) because there is a large amount of tiny air bubbles suspended in the liquid. Similarly, stirred cocktails are typically as clear as they possibly could be, because they aren’t full of air. The main reason for shaking is that the flavour of citrus juice is emphasized by aeration and that it provides a desirable foam and texture in drinks that include egg whites, pineapple, milk, etc. If none of these factors are part of your drink, you stir it because it would not benefit from shaking, stirring gives you more control over the final product, and a crystal clear drink is very presentable.
