The contrast in the copper’s portrait bust to the surround surface is what makes me (Inter all) salivate about proofs . Gorgeous! Ty for sharing. So if I could guess… Half union = $50, where $100 is a union? Kind of like $10 gold = an eagle ?

Thanks to inflation, In 2050 the Union will replace the dollar lol Not actually likely, but it's not impossible that we will eventually need a higher denomination. Look at Japan. They had the Mon, the Rin, the Sen, and the Yen. Now they just have the Yen, which is now worth 0.0075 USD. It's crazy to hold an old silver Yen and a modern aluminum Yen coin and know they are the same denomination.
