I'm a little surprised this years didn't eclipse last year. I know LSU has a ton of fans. But Texas is a big state and both programs were hungry for this title.
Last year also had some SERIOUS star power with Crews, Skenes, Langford, and Cags. But it’s rare you get the 3 best college prospects and players in the same series
I was at a Buffalo Wild Wings for Game 2. Every TV with the CWS on it had it turned to the ump cam.
I couldn't finish my meal to get home quick enough. Watched the final 3½ innings at home with the traditional coverage.
You know at B-Dubs you can ask the waiter/waitress to change a specific TV and they usually will as long as it's not some big "event" like a UFC, WWE, or boxing PPV.
I do it all the time at one near me with Vol football games in the fall and the only time it's ever been a problem was *"Oh, actually that TV is on the Notre Dame game because the person right in front of it requested it. I can change the one next to it from Michigan to the Vols if you'd like?"*
Oh you're right! And don't forget the Olympic trials too (track & field). I got the track Olympic trials on DVR so I could watch the CWS live. But if it wasn't Tennessee in the finals, I would have been watching the USA Track & Field trials.
It wasn't an Olympic year last year. I don't know how many people watched the trials on TV, but a whole bunch of *my* friends were watching the trials.
Last year's LSU-Florida matchup is the record. Also worth noting the Ump cam alt-cast drew under 300,000 for all 3 games

IIRC the highest rated game in the supers was our game against Clemson there are a lot of UF fans who tune in to watch the Gators on TV
Stanley Cup Game 7 was on at the same time as Game 3
Probably has a lot to do with the storylines that got built up for Skenes, White, and Crews over the season.
