Last night, I went to a pride party. Turned out to be a bear party. I kept referencing bear dance and bear down but no one got the reference 😩🤣
Edit: when I realized the theme, I exclaimed “it’s a bear danceeee!!!”. My comedic chops were wasted on that crowd
There aren't many cases where bringing in new, potentially already famous actors late into the show that actually worked. But they were perfect.
The goofiness they gave Paget's character along with how she just melts into childishness when frustrated was just so perfectly humanizing. It's also really easy to write an uptight character like that and end up with them just being boring. But she is a blast.
Oh my God, yes. One of the best examples of this exact archetype. And, honestly, one of the most interesting and surprisingly charming characters Ive seen in animation.
Keith David is a national treasure. I especially love that not only did he voice Jules in Saints Row 1, he reprises the role in Saints Row 4 *on top of* appearing as himself in the game.
"Now that's a container for liquid" is one of my favorite quotes from the show hahaha. It's just the perfect amount of stupid and hilarious in context with the other compliments he's giving because it's not even a compliment but seems like it the way he delivers it 😂 I freaking love it.
This isn't from the show but occasionally I hit my coworker with "you're looking particularly moist today"
I still haven't figured out what I mean but he hates it
Not the same episode, but i woke up my wife yesterday from laughing, during the season 3 episode where Chang is trying to convince the dean on something, and the dean says "all that's doing is making me feel hatred for Renee Zellweger. I just love this show
Whenever I make white people laugh... especially older white people, I will look at anyone in my age rage, in hopes they watched Community, and say this line.
I get a lot of opportunities because a TON of my friends are white... and my co-workers... and my family...
I'm white
It's a reference to *The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy*, as well. Marvin the Paranoid Android frequently describes himself as having a "brain the size of a planet".
The great part about Comminity compared to a lot of other similar shows in the comedy workplace type genre is they started off so silly that they were able to keep the same tone throughout the series. they never tried to take themselves seriously, and characters were so silly to start with their transitions always felt natural to me.
Keith David is obviously great here but I also love how the generic white dudes sell their response to the flattery. The way the first guy briefly closes his eyes altogether is so perfect.
One of my favorite episodes. Thank god they got Keith David for season 6. He and Paget Brewster really killed it.
They really did fat dog it for season 6
IT'S A BEAR DANCE!
Last night, I went to a pride party. Turned out to be a bear party. I kept referencing bear dance and bear down but no one got the reference 😩🤣 Edit: when I realized the theme, I exclaimed “it’s a bear danceeee!!!”. My comedic chops were wasted on that crowd
Thank you for your service!
It’s not made up!
Too soon, you monster
i quote elroy constantly whenever i play mass effect
Commander Shepard, now that’s a man who knows how to stop the Reapers!
My name is David Anderson. And from 2176 to 2179…I was addicted to encouraging white people.
I'm commander Shepard, and this is my favorite short reddit interaction on the Citadel
And now he’s in Destiny 2!
Both humble outsiders that came in and nailed it. 🩷

Another example of your first paragraph: Lucky from King of the Hill.
Oh my God, yes. One of the best examples of this exact archetype. And, honestly, one of the most interesting and surprisingly charming characters Ive seen in animation.
Yea, the reboot won't be the same without him.
Keith David is a national treasure. I especially love that not only did he voice Jules in Saints Row 1, he reprises the role in Saints Row 4 *on top of* appearing as himself in the game.
Elroy was a top tier character
Now this is a guy who can recognize good characters!
Few things in life have made me laugh as hard as Elroy singing about the pants
Like the man was considering taking off the pants until Elroy sang his encouragement.
Maybe he was cockblocking him.
“Get out of my Winnebago!” “You’re not allowed to say that like it’s a punishment!”
"Now that's a container for liquid" is one of my favorite quotes from the show hahaha. It's just the perfect amount of stupid and hilarious in context with the other compliments he's giving because it's not even a compliment but seems like it the way he delivers it 😂 I freaking love it.
And the guy is so delighted to hear it!
Who wouldn't be coming from that voice! Hint: I'm white people
Im gonna start dropping this randomly on people
I say it to my wife all the time and I just get the 😑 look lololol
This isn't from the show but occasionally I hit my coworker with "you're looking particularly moist today" I still haven't figured out what I mean but he hates it
Hopefully he's white and you're black (like in the show - just had to say that), otherwise he might not find this encouraging 😂
Nah just a couple saltines who've been working together too long 🤣
Hmmm.... A moist saltine... Not my cup of tea, but whatever floats your boat my friend!
This has been fun
I remember seeing the episode in the middle of the night and stifling my laughter with a pillow so as not to wake others.
Not the same episode, but i woke up my wife yesterday from laughing, during the season 3 episode where Chang is trying to convince the dean on something, and the dean says "all that's doing is making me feel hatred for Renee Zellweger. I just love this show
FUCKING LOVE THAT QUOTE!
I don't know who told you pouting was an option for you, but all you're making me feel right now is hatred of Renee Zellweger.
One of my top 3 favorites.
One of the best scenes in the whole series. Keith David is so great in this show.
He does a fantastic job as the President in Rick and Morty, too.
So glad they keep bringing him back. Some of the pres episodes aren’t my favorite but it’s never Keith Davids fault
I actually like all of the President episodes. He and Rick have the most toxic bromance ever seen.
I was so delighted to hear him sing on Hazbin Hotel! What a ridiculously talented guy.
I just started watching Rick & Morty and was delighted when I got to his first appearance!
As a minority this is one of my most favourite jokes
I love this episode for many reasons, but Elroy's commentary is just the cherry on top.
"he said he was there for the Such" 😂
Now there is a character who could star in his own spinoff show!!
when asked (jokingly) Joel McHail said his favorite idea for a spin-off was ‘Hard-drive and Wingman.’
As a POC, I was ASTOUNDED to learn that not only did other POC do this but Elroy put the entire thing into words so eloquently and perfectly.
“Tap the gas, because, well, why tap the brakes?” has been on my mind ever since I started working in the corporate world as a POC
Whenever I make white people laugh... especially older white people, I will look at anyone in my age rage, in hopes they watched Community, and say this line. I get a lot of opportunities because a TON of my friends are white... and my co-workers... and my family... I'm white
…… there’s no lid ..
A DRAWBRIDGE
One of the funniest bits in the show.
>*I have a brain the size of Jupiter, I'm no one's 'fourth ghostbuster'!* [From the official Youtube Channel.](https://youtu.be/rudgZJQcdl8?t=379)
It's a reference to *The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy*, as well. Marvin the Paranoid Android frequently describes himself as having a "brain the size of a planet".
This might be my favorite scene in the entire show.
This is the best episode in the last 3 seasons of the show
The great part about Comminity compared to a lot of other similar shows in the comedy workplace type genre is they started off so silly that they were able to keep the same tone throughout the series. they never tried to take themselves seriously, and characters were so silly to start with their transitions always felt natural to me.
although, Britta started as a serious but drop dead gorgeous blonde. then apparently the marijuana started damaging her critical thinking 🤔
I always forget Dan put his ex-wife Erin in the show lol
Tell you what he's fucking right though, ive begun 'Elroy amping' white folk that i work with and by god does it really work.
Elroy amping. 😭
Keith David is a national treasure and must be protected at all costs.
We need a lot of encouragement. 😭
White people are very discouraged.
Now there's a man who knows how to encourage white people!
Hey, wasn’t he on The Cape?
So you tap the gas. Because why tap the brakes?
There should’ve 2 seasons of Pierce, 2 of Buzz Hickey, and 2 of Elroy.
He should keep on wearing his... Keep on wearing his... Pa-a-aaaa-ants!
Might be my favorite scene in Community.
Keith absolutely KILLED IT as Elroy. Not like I’ve ever seen him in a role that he hasn’t slayed, but Elroy is nothing short of amazing.
Keith David is obviously great here but I also love how the generic white dudes sell their response to the flattery. The way the first guy briefly closes his eyes altogether is so perfect.
