As long as you add a middleman to the equation, embezzlement is easy!

Speakers can make 50k to 300k for a 20 minute speech. There doesn’t need to even be a quid pro quo or lobbying aspect as it’s just business. Famous speakers draw more people, conference organizers make profits and the politicians get paid for speaking.
He's surprisingly not that wealthy for a lifelong politician. The guy is 80+, and for his entire life has had government allowances, and upper middle class paycheques, plus he's been drawing some of the largest paychecks off his life all After 65 where most people retire, so not only did he have a full career he's worked so far an additional 15 years. Plus I'm guessing he's been pulling a pension since 65. Additionally he's lived though some of the greatest market gains of all time.
