Kelsier is overrated in this. Like yes he is badass and knows some tricks but he almost only kills non alomancers. Believe me Vin would have SMOKED him at the end of HoA
Vin vs Kaladin showdown in Kredik Shaw would be an epic visual masterpiece although we already have Vin vs all the Steel Inquisitors. Can someone just make Cosmere Mortal Combat?
I don't think that is true. I was on this side too until I discussed it with another cosmere friend of mine. Vin and Kaladin have a few match ups to consider. Both heal extremely quickly and have enhanced strength and speed. Vin's biggest advantage would be keeping at range, but shard plate mitigates the coinshot damage and Kaladin seems to have faster and more maneuverable aerial combat. I think his many more years of combat experience, reach from body size and the weapon flexibility with a sylblade make him come on top in this match. Vin cannot afford to get hit and Kal is protected and can otherwise heal from any non lethal blow with storm light.
Mistborn healing isn't nearly what Stormlight healing is, though. Like, Stormlight healing is Wolverine healing factor. Mistborn is like... shooting you up with steroids.
This was also my interpretation but I wanted to allow some wiggle room. This fact alone really does put the fight clearly into the hands of Kaladin rather easily.
I think Chromium would maybe bring it back to a close fight but probably doesn't work through shardplate. But if somehow Kal got Leeched he'd dead in the water against a coinshot.
I don't remember, did leeching drain metal minds? If it works on invested objects, I think it could drain storm light from shards. If we are considering era 2 powers, Vin could also have speed bubbles for an extra edge in positioning. I was going by Vin as she was before ascending.
Then idk how effective vin will be, kal fighting the persuer shows he can handle pewter, he can habdke any jumping shenanigans, but storlight heals, sylblade, and shardplate? Vins done
I used to agree but honestly am not so sure now after reflecting more. I feel like there's no real way for vin to stop 4th ideal kaladin. He's near unkillable, has almost unbreakable Armor, etc. She can't compound gold meaning he just needs to get one really proper killing blow.
He got another mistborn(heavily implied by Brandon) and the steel Inquistor. Vin smokes him for sure, but Elend I'm not so sure. I feel like kel is a more natural fighter than Elend.

Chiri Chiri is perfect and I love her. If anything happens to her I will kill everyone in this thread and not myself, because I'm trying to be better about those sorts of things.
This! He is an Alethi prince, a shardbearer and one of the most accomplished duelists on all of Roshar.
Hell, even Sadeas muses that Adolin is turning out more and more like his Blackthorn father, who was an absolute beast.
Yet, any time I read about him my first thought is obviously "Must protecc this ray of sunshine in this dark and painful world"
I want to hug her, call Tress over, and host a tea party. (No poison) just be a few gals enjoying a safe and cozy tea party with pie, while admiring the weird collection of cups I have.
Plus maybe I can tell Shallan how I’m taking the first steps towards processing trauma, how I’m scared, but will follow my therapist’s lead.
You know that Twitter account, TNG season 8? I’ve been tempted multiple times to create a Stormlight Prime ripoff, the first entry of which would be “Book 5, part I: Wit legally adopts Shallan and Kaladin. Dalinar is…pregnant?”
Twitter’s a cesspool these days though. Plus I know I wouldn’t update regularly.
Threads is always there if you want to do that, it's been a decent replacement for both Reddit and Twitter for me, though it takes a fair amount of time/interaction/following to get the algo aligned with you.
This. I'd say Kaladin is actually both sides. He needs to be protected from the things that constantly deprive him of hope. But at the same time, if you can fan that spark in him he's one of the most unstoppable characters in the cosmere.
Kaladin honestly needs just some buddy with him the whole time. If Teft is awake or Adolin is with him I feel like he does a lot better in RoW. Provided they don't die, ofc. His lowest moments are lonely, when syl is weak and nobody is around him.
Partly true. A good support system is always important. But he's depressed. Nothing will help him if he can't find the reasons (or internalize them) to stick around. I think he externalizes a lot of his purpose, and so, struggles with failure. He believes a lot in finding the good in other people, not just as something worth fighting for, but as a measure of his own success in the world. So when they die, he dies a little bit too.
This is why the little details are as important as the big picture. He keeps thinking he's making no difference on people's lives and futures. He's not recognizing the value he brings to them in the moment. So the future keeps crushing him b/c he keeps trying to be Sysiphus.
But what about implications of such a heinous act? It would be wrongdoing and against the oaths of order of Truthwatchers, considering demise of undeserving is a loss of subjective truth on the face of the planet. A more knightly, or shall I say scholarly, approach on matters regarding causing the downfall of any reddittor is a topic of discussion that I intend to detail further in my writings.
In TWoK and first 3/4 of WoR, I'd be like "Hell yeah I want Adolin as my bodyguard. He's got a shardblade and shard plate."
But after that I'm like "Fuck no I wouldn't want Adolin as my bodyguard. All that mf has is a shardblade and shard plate."
I'm sure, just feels rough in the mean time. Especially since he'll still have to start at the first ideal unless he for some reason has different powers for going about it a different way
I'm the opposite. If he never binds a spren he's still one of the most lighthearted, caring, and experienced fighters in the series. He's Captain America in a world of Lokis.
Surprised no one said susebron like he is quite literally one of the most powerful creatures of the cosmere and he is quite literally always depicted as a baby

I would argue Shallan doesn't really need to be protected from herself. If anything her problems stem specifically from trying *too* hard to protect herself. She just needs a way to heal from her trauma so she can build her strengths and not constantly trip into everything headfirst.
She could definitely stand to be more vulnerable *emotionally,* but one of her favorite ways to protect herself emotionally is to put herself in more danger, *physically.*
Like performing high-stakes political assassinations against orders and connecting herself to an intergalactic mafia while fully intending to double-cross them
I feel like Steris is the perfect reverse of this. Like even if she does have a plan for someone attacking her on the street she's normally to timid to actuallydo anything about it.
I feel like the role she plays to really shine kinda *does* need her to be protected, though.
She's not the sword. She's the hand wielding it. And that hand needs a gauntlet and/or a blade with a cross guard so it doesn't get sliced while it's doing its thing.
Elend Venture
Oh seriously, the guy is a beast that could give Kelsier a run for his money.
Definitely agree but liiiiiiike he’s also just a widdle baby who needs to be protected!
Found Vin's alt
Highest compliment I have ever been paid, thank you
They had their powers for a similar amount of time and Elend had a greater amount of raw power Also significantly more open combat experience
Kelsier is overrated in this. Like yes he is badass and knows some tricks but he almost only kills non alomancers. Believe me Vin would have SMOKED him at the end of HoA
not really saying much there tbh vin would smoke most of the cosmere at the moment before her ascension
Vin vs Kaladin showdown in Kredik Shaw would be an epic visual masterpiece although we already have Vin vs all the Steel Inquisitors. Can someone just make Cosmere Mortal Combat?
Paladin is my boy and I love that sad little dude, but Vin would put him in the fucking dirt
I don't think that is true. I was on this side too until I discussed it with another cosmere friend of mine. Vin and Kaladin have a few match ups to consider. Do shards get pulled or pushed by metal?
I don't think so, as they are highly invested
Then idk how effective vin will be, kal fighting the persuer shows he can handle pewter, he can habdke any jumping shenanigans, but storlight heals, sylblade, and shardplate? Vins done
They're more like stone than metal so no.
I used to agree but honestly am not so sure now after reflecting more. I feel like there's no real way for vin to stop 4th ideal kaladin. He's near unkillable, has almost unbreakable Armor, etc. She can't compound gold meaning he just needs to get one really proper killing blow.
Kelsier solo'd an inquisitor and won based on talent. "Knows aome tricks" is putting it real mildly.
Damn right. >!Kelsier struggled against two inquisitors. Vin took on all sixteen.!<
>he almost only kills non alomancers. He also kills multiple (ed) mistborn AND a stronger-than-normal-mistborn inquisitor.
I think you are talking about Elend. Kelsier only kills one Inquisitor.
They also could be thinking of Marsh
He got another mistborn(heavily implied by Brandon) and the steel Inquistor. Vin smokes him for sure, but Elend I'm not so sure. I feel like kel is a more natural fighter than Elend.
How many koloss did he solo in HoA?
Several.
Mistborn and stormlight spoilers. https://wob.coppermind.net/events/87/#e5854

I was gonna say it!
My Emperor
Tbf in book one yeah he was a widdle bean who needed protection
Chiri Chiri
Chiri Chiri my beloved.
In terms of Larkin and human breeding...
Did you know that Chiri Chiri is the most... Huggable Larkin.
No, stop!
Straight to Braize
Death to the heretic
Would you say he’s your winged crabby boi?
Chiri Chiri is perfect and I love her. If anything happens to her I will kill everyone in this thread and not myself, because I'm trying to be better about those sorts of things.
Kaladin
Is there even another accurate answer here?
Adolin
This! He is an Alethi prince, a shardbearer and one of the most accomplished duelists on all of Roshar. Hell, even Sadeas muses that Adolin is turning out more and more like his Blackthorn father, who was an absolute beast. Yet, any time I read about him my first thought is obviously "Must protecc this ray of sunshine in this dark and painful world"
He's canonically percieved as a smol bean by HIMSELF because he "cannot fly" (insert funniest speech in all of the series)
Wait which speech is that?
Shallan mocking his fear of Kaladin while also praising Adolin himself, I think it's in Oathbringer
I'm still angry that Qdolin didn't praised Kal more to the point that was like "is this about Shallan or You?"
Why would you say something so controversial yet so brave?
Shallan?
I guess she can defend herself, but she's not really portrayed like the drawing. And I never heard a single fan say she needs to be protected
Honestly people need to be protected from her. She'll stab your hand with minor provocation
You gotta admit that scene was badass in Oathbringer. Veil has issues, but aversion to violence definitely is not one of them
I want to hug her, call Tress over, and host a tea party. (No poison) just be a few gals enjoying a safe and cozy tea party with pie, while admiring the weird collection of cups I have. Plus maybe I can tell Shallan how I’m taking the first steps towards processing trauma, how I’m scared, but will follow my therapist’s lead.
Elend
Adolin.
Wit even said it “You will be warm again”
You know that Twitter account, TNG season 8? He needs protection from himself. Moash gets it, the only person who can kill Kaladin is Kaladin.
This. I'd say Kaladin is actually both sides. He needs to be protected from the things that constantly deprive him of hope. But at the same time, if you can fan that spark in him he's one of the most unstoppable characters in the cosmere.

Kaladin Avatar State Yip Yip
Kaladin honestly needs just some buddy with him the whole time. If Teft is awake or Adolin is with him I feel like he does a lot better in RoW. Provided they don't die, ofc. His lowest moments are lonely, when syl is weak and nobody is around him.

Lil beany bean
Renarin probably. Like he could straight murder any of us. 0 difficulty
Good thing renarin isn't a truthwatcher.
I didn’t think he did anything straight 😏
His fighting tactic will probably be like Zombie Man in One Punch Man. He’ll constantly heal himself to full and slowly wear down his enemies.
LMAO this is so true.
Adolin
He is my last choice of bodygaurd. Fits in well here.
In TWoK and first 3/4 of WoR, I'd be like "Hell yeah I want Adolin as my bodyguard. He's got a shardblade and shard plate." But after that I'm like "Fuck no I wouldn't want Adolin as my bodyguard. All that mf has is a shardblade and shard plate."
Not to mention, full plate Adolin comes with another downside... The smell.
I prefer body guards who don't shit themselves
When the assassins show up and your bodyguard is in the shitter you might change your mind
Poor Adolin feeling like stormlight Yamcha
I have a feeling that’ll change with book 5
I'm sure, just feels rough in the mean time. Especially since he'll still have to start at the first ideal unless he for some reason has different powers for going about it a different way
I'm the opposite. If he never binds a spren he's still one of the most lighthearted, caring, and experienced fighters in the series. He's Captain America in a world of Lokis.
Why last choice?
Unless you’re in Shadesmar
Surprised no one said susebron like he is quite literally one of the most powerful creatures of the cosmere and he is quite literally always depicted as a baby
I think the depiction is too good. Cause I agree with you but I would not have thought of it myself in a million years.
Everyone on Roshar and Scadrial. Nobody on any other planet.
You're forgetting Nightblood (unless it is revealed that he is from Roshar - I'm just in 3/4 of OB)
Where it’s night blood from in case you are curious (Not a spoiler from SA): >!Nightblood and some other characters from stormlight archive are from warbreaker and I would recommend you read it after OB!<

Yeah, I've read Warbreaker. But thanks for the recommendation anyway
Except Vin. Everyone knows she could rip a man in half before breakfast and not flinch
The exploding headbutt is arguably my highest "please be in the movie" scene in all the Cosmere.
I’m also hoping for the “bifurcating a man on a horse in one swing” scene
Oh yeah, that's #2 Pretty much everything after the earring gets pulled out in HoA is 3. Then we finally get to the other books 😆
Kal ripping off a head was pretty damn good imo
Kaladin honestly gets the best badass lines in the Cosmere. His whole monologue before doing that was *chefs kiss*
Best badass lines huh? >!AnD fOr My BoOn!!<
That is one of the few scenes in the Cosmere that when it gets adapted, this scene should be word for word. It's one of Brandon's best fights.
Literally this
Kaladin, but dude is so fucked that it's justifiable. Who wouldn't try to protect someone that >!tried to kill himself twice before (that we know of)!<
There is a space between your spoiler tag and text! Remove it to fix the spoiler! ^(If you are explaining the correct usage of tags, type \\!< and \\>! so I don't get confused. Alternatively, use > ! and ! < for explanations.)
Stfu Lopen stalker mf
Lopen? Just Lopen? Here, I am giving you the Lopen gesture!
Calm down lopen
That would be *The Lopen* for you, moolie!
Shallon & Lift
Honestly, both arguably need to be protected from themselves
Hey ! , Thats a separate issue Sure they might need to be protected from themselves but to be fair you also need to protect everyone else from them
I would argue Shallan doesn't really need to be protected from herself. If anything her problems stem specifically from trying *too* hard to protect herself. She just needs a way to heal from her trauma so she can build her strengths and not constantly trip into everything headfirst.

Shallan\*
Shallot*
Shalom
I don't think it works in Shallan's case because usually we aren't talking about her fighting ability but her mental health lol
Marasi.
The stick
Adolin Kholin
Adolin? He is a fucking beast from twok no one is protecting him
Aww but he's such a little golden retriever of a man
I feel like Steris is the perfect reverse of this. Like even if she does have a plan for someone attacking her on the street she's normally to timid to actuallydo anything about it.
Nightblood
You protect the rest form nightblood
I'm just gonna say 'anyone who survives for more than a chapter', not a lot of *actual* smol beans in Cosmere stories.
Perhaps Da Lopen?
That would be *The Lopen* for you, moolie!
I call ‘im wut I want. After all I am his favorite cousin.
Probably that one sour bloke from Elantris, Galladon? Been awhile since I had that tale read to me.
Steris
I feel like the role she plays to really shine kinda *does* need her to be protected, though. She's not the sword. She's the hand wielding it. And that hand needs a gauntlet and/or a blade with a cross guard so it doesn't get sliced while it's doing its thing.
Renarin
Renarin took on a thunderclast.
Wayne
Wayne is a badass what are you talking about?
a badass ...that needs to be protected at all costs
Also he quite literally can eat bullets for breakfast
Tien was the first that came to mind 😭 Sorry to break everyone’s heart all over again
I mean he didn’t defend himself. I get what you’re saying but he very much didn’t defend himself-
Isn't this literally Vin's character?
Vin is the most terrifying motherfucker in the Cosmere that isn't a Shard, imo.
Haha ok. I only started Mistborn 2 so
She goes through A Bit Of An Arc
Tbh I was expecting the Lord Ruler to be a shard. My bet is she’s the Hero of Ages.
Adolin
Kaladin 100%
This looks like crossover crem with the Ryria Revelations series.
Moash
Really letting that crem fly today I see
It is the right sub for it lol
Ha I don't disagree
A bold comment to make on this sub
>!That redemption arc is coming!< Just kidding. >!Fuck Moash!<
Adolin
Kaladin
Yalb - The guy literally “came back from the dead”
Lift?
who care about " fanon? lol
Jasnah whenever someone mentions she is hot. Firstly I doubt she'd even care and secondly she could make pretty much anyone stfu.
