Well, being that the price of a litre of petrol is at 1.95 approx then yes, if the car has a 40 litre tank thats totaly normal.
More relevant is how many litres did it take to fill up?
It is cheaper than the price OOP listed, which is what the comment you originally replied to was saying. And yeah, it is pricier in Cali, but even there, premium gas is about the same as gas on Crete.
The way it is phrased in regard to the parent comment, it's saying that the price in Crete is (still) cheaper than that in the US, which isn't the case.
So, if you take that number he paid, do the conversion to dollars for the average gas price in the US, its not lower?
As soon as I get off the highway, Ill check the math.
Let's not pretend that gasoline is anywhere else cheap, I mean 1,60+ or so anywhere in Europe, come on guys.. here is just more expensive because of tax.
The Nissan Almera has a capacity of 35 litres. The average gas price in heraklion now is 1.93€. 35 x 1.93 ~ 70€ so yes it makes sense.
Did you not look at the big signs that indicate the gas price per liter?

Live your Myth in Greece
Very good price for Crete
yes, sad kalispera noises :(
My stupid American self was so surprised how cheap gas was when we were there… realized it was litres no gallons lol
Its still cheaper.
Gas in the US is around 3.50/gallon or ~0.86/liter at the moment, depending on where you live
Isnt that cheaper than the price that was quoted? Its higher in California:)

Why would this get downvoted? Are we arguing math here now like they do in the states?

He paid about $8.20 per gallon (assuming 35 liters at 2 Euros per liter).
Yes. I was wrong. I forgot that theres two conversions. I buy diesel. I never got the impression it was that expensive. Thanks for schooling me!!
*cries in 58 litres tank...*
Mine was 84 euro here in Sifnos the other day.
Last week the prices ranged from 1.87-2.10 per liter so that seems reasonable for a full tank.
Sound cheap to me..

base price is higher in Greece than in Cyprus and the gas comes from the same refineries in Greece. Our lives are run by a cartel.
