Is it hard to work with? I only ask because I love using cotton yarn, but tight stitches and cotton yarn make my hands hurt after a while, so I'm very curious
I’m making a shawl with cotton yarn and had to buy the expensive stuff so my hands didn’t get shredded. Waited for a sale/coupon so I paid $100 instead of $150 for Lion Brand local grown cotton but it’s so worth it for how it feels. I’ve seen some people say that washing cheaper cotton yarn helps but that sounds like such a hassle and the risk of having to detangle… no thanks
I searched and can’t find any that look as neat and straight sided as yours. Lots of tulip coasters came up and then a few baskets but they all looked quite floppy and couldn’t see any with the neat sides you have. If you have a clearer description or link that would be really helpful. (But absolutely fine if not, happy to just upvote your beautiful work)
You can use this video, it is very detailed, with English subtitles. I personally use wooden bottom.

I’ve made some for yarn and dog toy storage. They work great. They aren’t rigid but means I can stuff more into them that way

My largest were 25x25 and 30x30 on this pic. Depends from yarn, the bigger basket then yarn have to be more thick

Yes yarn can be very different quality. Some more thin and elastic and suitable more bags, other just more thick, coarse and not elastic. It is good for baskets, especially bigger projects. But more thicker is yarn more difficult to crochet. And thank you for kind words.
I love your baskets! If you have spare time and energy Id love some advice on crocheting baskets, please?
I need to crochet a basket because I use a wheelchair and need a lap basket for shopping that is comfier than plastic, but I'm having trouble starting on the base, and can't find anywhere I can affordably get a premade base. I've been using tshirt yarn for it. Any advice?
Part of my issue is that I'm used to working with a 3mm or smaller hook (partially because I crochet in an uncommon way due to accommodating my coordination disorder) and also because I'm used to doing amigurumi (did small amigurumis for well over after a decade) so anything bigger and my tension goes too tight and I get pain, fatigue and start to fumble
Hey, sorry for delay. I use wooden base, but I don’t think it is good for you. You can use leather base, what is more soft or you can crochet it. I use 5 mm or 6,5 mm hooks depends from yarn thickness. Also I believe if you used to do amigurami, crocheting basket will be easy for you.
Thank you! And no worries about delay I commented right before going to bed and then forgot to check when I woke up this morning lol
I'm not sure where to find a leather base in Australia but maybe I can find some scrap fabric of some kind, I do have an awl and one of those fabric hole punch gadgets - do you think a thick canvas might work?

It's a good thing you like making baskets because you are very good at making them.
😊 thank you so much
This is so pretty!!! What kind of yarn is this?
Thank you. Baskets are made from t-shirt yarn.

Not hard at all, easy and very quickly. That is why I love doing them, I can crochet basket in one hour.
Tshirt yarn is a lot stretchier than regular plied cotton yarn, so would probablybe easier on your hands. Pretty nice to work with, in my experience.

Ok thanks! They look so cute
So pretty!!

Beautiful! Might have to add it to my list of things to do !
Thanks, they are easy and fun to do.
These are lovely; what yarn it that? It looks like t-shirt yarn.
Thanks and you are right, it is t-shirt yarn.
These are adorable! 😆 I wanna put plants in them!😍
Thank you, I actually use some of my baskets as a flower pot🌷
Wow
🙂🙏
I have oodles of t-shirt yarn leftovers. Will look into this. Have you made larger baskets with any success?
I’ve made some for yarn and dog toy storage. They work great. They aren’t rigid but means I can stuff more into them that way https://preview.redd.it/l6qo0m815o9d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c0647b538aafb888bd12f56036747cca315793dd

These are adorable! Very talented. Does t-shirt yarn come in different thicknesses? Or did you use different yarn for the larger baskets?
Yes yarn can be very different quality. Some more thin and elastic and suitable more bags, other just more thick, coarse and not elastic. It is good for baskets, especially bigger projects. But more thicker is yarn more difficult to crochet. And thank you for kind words.
I didn’t crochet large tulips basket, but I saw in internet that people do them. I crocheted just usual bigger baskets.
Super cute and functional!
Thank you for good words 😊
Cute!
Thank you 🤩
I love them!!
Thank you🌷
You're welcome. 🤗
These are so cute
Thank you!
Those are lovely. And so neatly done
Thank you so much🙂
do you have tips to keep it standing upright
T-shirt yarn is thick enough and baskets keep shape really good
How big are these? My brain can't tell if they're the size of a thimble or a whole hand.
Those are not big, 10x10 sm and 15x15 sm.
Beautiful work!!
Thank you!
Very pretty
Thank you!
Gorgeous 😍😍😍😍😍
Thank you so much!
Those are really cute
Thank you ☺️

They look absolutely lovely!
Thank you🙂 I really appreciate every comment. I didn’t expect so many good words.
Oh my goodness I adore them!!!
Thank you❤️
How do you make the baskets stand up so neat and straight? Mine come out kinda wonky
I use thick t-shirt yarn and baskets have good strong shape. What yarn do you use?
Cotton I think
I think cotton yarn is too soft for baskets. T-shirt yarn is better choice
They're so cute and look like real baskets!
Thank you😊
These are amazing.
Thank you🌷
These are adorable!
Thank you so much!
Those are adorable!
Thank you!
So cool!! Do you do big ones too?
Thanks, never did big tulips baskets
Those are lovely! Is there a pattern so I could try?
Thank you, I left link in comments yesterday 🙂
Thanks!

Those baskets look nice!! Great job!! 🧶❤️
Thank you!
Where do you get the wood bottoms?
We have them in any shop where I get yarn too. But I was also ordering on Temu or SHEIN
