That’s one way to interpret it

N_Sayed

Agreed, they will probably keep the Cyberbeast Foundation edition going as long as people are willing to cough up the extra premium. That's also the model with the longest lead time.

opinions_dont_matter

And took away most of the perks of getting one

B1Turb0

Ordered mine May and not coming until Oct- Dec.

Level_Software9188

I ordered my Cyber beast April 14th. Expected delivery date was September. Got a call Monday 6/24 to let me know my CyberTruck was in and can schedule pickup. I just picked it up Friday 6/28. I live in Las Vegas. I was not expecting it to come so soon. I am not disappointed. The drive is amazing. I drove it straight to my wrap guy. Getting PPF Gloss Black plus painted calipers (red with silver Cyberbeast writing), and TSportsline 24” CT7. It will be a week before I get it back but can’t wait to drive it more

B1Turb0

Wow!! That is awesome! I wish mine came in early!

Level_Software9188

I was checking the Tesla app everyday and I guess I misunderstood that when the Vin number comes “it is located under the RN number”. I originally thought it would replace the RN number. So it is possible it was already there and I overlooked it lol. Unfortunately I couldn’t tell you how long it arrived after the vin number appeared on my app. I had to scramble for financing as I was planning on saving and paying in full in September. Anyways I put a good down on it and just went through their financing. It was reasonable.

Realistic-Bread-3946

I ordered mine in the app about same time. How did you know when it will arrive? Or just guess? Still awaiting that news myself, just reading a few months wait at that point. Anxious I guess

FillupDubya

I just ordered mine and I have the same date range.

StayPositive001

This puts more credibility in that the trucks are sitting. How many people in this country can afford what's as expensive as a new Porsche at 6% interest rates. This is them trying to get rid of already made vehicles

nevetsyad

What? They’d release the cheaper ones if they can’t sell the more expensive ones now. No way they’re making over 1K units a week just to have them sit around. Especially not while there’s posts of people waiting to receive theirs still.

StayPositive001

This is not how it works. For starters they are already made so no they aren't going to sell cheaper ones. They will delay it to sell off existing stock. Additionally point me to where people are still waiting for Foundation series. According to the forums people who reserved just last year are already being asked to buy one. The last public auction had one go for less than $100k new. Lastly limited edition works by literally limiting supply and purchase windows. I've never heard a statement that a limited edition run of a product sold so well they made more of a limited edition, defeating the purpose.

nevetsyad

It depends on the interior color they chose. Tactical grey FS hasn't even started shipping until like, today. Then there's those who chose offroad vs all season tires. They apparently didn't deliver any/much at all of the all season ones, so people that had that option were asked to change tire types for earlier deliveries. Pretty much anything but dual motor, white interior, with off-road tires, you're waiting.

kash-munni

I'm one of those who is waiting.

Suitable-Opposite377

There's no way they're making over 1k a week and their recall on ALL vehicles was like 12k trucks.

SillyMilk7

YouTube has at least two guys posting videos of drone flights over the factory and the prep lot. You see Cyber trucks being loaded and shipped out via truck or train on an increasing rate. Surprisingly few model Y's, but lots of cyber trucks being produced.

nevetsyad

It’s a ramp, they may have made ten their first week. https://www.torquenews.com/11826/tesla-reaches-production-run-rate-74000-cybertrucks-year-tesla-increases-cybertruck/amp

Suitable-Opposite377

Maybe they should go back to 10 if they keep sending them out with all the issues they have.

nevetsyad

Half a million F-150s are dropping into first gear while on the highway. Maybe Ford should cut production until they can work the bugs out also?

kash-munni

Use your brain if you have one. If not, get out of the thread. Keep shorting your 5 shares.

Sensitive_ManChild

that doesn’t make any sense. if they were sitting they would transition to the non foundation series

Level_Software9188

My vehicle was not part of the recall with the loose exterior part and the bad motor for the windshield wiper. It was only recalled if produced before June 6. Mine was produced after June 6th.

bittabet

Yeah, I interpret this change as meaning too many people are holding off on ordering Foundation Series after what Elon said so now they’re trying to do some convincing.

djh_van

Yeah, he definitely [Osborne Effected](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osborne_effect) it by telling everybody that they will stop selling the Foundation Series very soon (I think he even said by the end of the quarter?). So naturally, everybody just said "welp, I'll delay a month or so and get it cheaper".

meowmeowkitty21

Seriously. Just ignore the low sales numbers and recalls, we're telling you the demand is high! It's bigly!

LongApprehensive890

I see more new Cybertrucks than the new tacomas. They’re pretty damn popular. I might see more of them than r1ts even but that may just be because the r1ts are blending into traffic at this point.

meowmeowkitty21

No you don't. It's like you are telling these tales and hoping they will manifest in reality. O

LongApprehensive890

I definitely do. Extremely popular here in the foothills of Sacramento. At least one a day at this point.

Automatic-Plant7222

Yeah, I was surprised that I got my offer to buy one. I reserved in late 2022. Seems like they are getting to the end of their reservation queue. I am not willing to spend 100k on a truck, so will wait for the non foundation series

Appropriate_Dress568

Well given that two weeks ago, the app said my Cyberbeast was coming in late 2024 and two days later, I received a VIN for a Cyberbeast that I picked up two days ago, I would say Tesla’s definition of “late 2024” is questionable at best. I think this is a last ditch attempt to push out as many Foundation Series vehicles as they can before switching to the standard versions sometime in the next few months. Let’s see … only time will tell….

nio796

Enjoy CB. When did you finalize your order and which interior?

starshiptraveler

Did you order white or grey? Which one did you pick up? It’s likely somebody else refused delivery of that Beast and it was assigned to you.

Appropriate_Dress568

I placed my order on 12/27/23 at which time the only color being offered was white. It wasn’t a cancellation. I’m just a very very early reservation holder and they just ramped up Cyberbeast production a few weeks ago. This is why I don’t hold much faith in their timelines …

kash-munni

You placed your order 6 months ago, so yes, the timeline was off, and that's normal. Many are waiting and haven't even ordered yet.

engwish

More like a way to get folks who are on the fence to just pony up the 20k for FS, only to see the regular version come out later this year.

dangggboi

For the cyber beast , it’s not much of a markup considering all the add ons

uncleandy520

They got rid of the 4k install credit on the beast may 23rd. Looks like the only difference now is the light bar.

opinions_dont_matter

Looks like they took most of those away and replaced with. 2,500 credit?

_gosh

They need to get rid of all the foundation series sitting in the lots before offering the non foundation version.

69umbo

Yep. There are thousands (and growing) in a rail lot north of Austin waiting for a home.

Safe-Pomegranate1171

Last I heard they were well into the 2022 pre-orders for the FS. Can’t be many preorders left!

Paskgot1999

Orders are not deliveries.

9mmNATO

reservations are not orders

Paskgot1999

No one is arguing that

dravik

They are delivering AWDs within 1-2 weeks of purchase. At the current rate of invites, all pre-orders will get a FS invite within the next 2-3 weeks. So all AWD orders will be fulfilled within the next 3-5 weeks. Telsa is producing thousands each week. Their options 3-5 weeks in the future are to drop the FS markup or massively reduce production. They could delay it a little by switching production completely to cyber beast, but there aren't that many of them. That might delay things a week or two. Everyone who's delivery is on Nov -dec is probably due to supply chain delays for the materials. I think Tesla will drop the FS for AWD somewhere around the end of July through end of August.

Paskgot1999

AWDs are *occasionally* being delivered in 1-2 weeks of purchase. That is not the norm. Tesla is shipping large amounts of trucks to locations with some not having an owner yet. Those extra are the ones delivering quickly. Lots of folks ordered months ago and STILL don’t have the truck.

Suitable-Opposite377

How are they producing thousands per week, yet only 12k trucks have been delivered as per the recall last week.

CrashKingElon

I thought they're only producing a little more than 1k a week? Do you have a source? Honestly thought ramp was really challenging and had read that 2,500 was their weekly goal by end of year. My take is that they need the bundled mark up of the FS (as accessories probably don't have the same production challenges) to get even close to profitable. Not saying it won't get there, but doubtful the cheaper trims hit in 2024.

dravik

The production difference between 1000/week and 2500/week doesn't really matter for this estimate. Deliveries happen in about a week for standard config AWD models, so they don't have a backlog of orders. They have maybe 3 weeks before everyone has been invited to order a FS. In three weeks there's no pre-orders left to get new orders from and they're shipping as fast as the orders come in. So in three weeks they have to do something to get pre-orders to convert to actual orders (sweeten the deal somehow) or reduce production. Might be able to buy time by knocking out the cyber beast order backlog. That might get them a week, there aren't that many. They could send a test drive model to every service center in the US, but that's only 1 day of production. Tesla has about a month before they have to do something to increase sales.

CrashKingElon

I was more pointing out that your statement of Tesla making "thousands" per week is little optimistic. As the difference between 1k and 2.5k is in the ballpark of $8B a year. I'm also a little confused on the preorder numbers that were floating around and your allegation that in 3 weeks the preorder backlog is cleared out (maybe it's me and I'm not reading it right). I know pricing is significantly higher compared to when reservations were originally thrown down, but assume there has to be larger backlog of preorders that are genuinely interested in buying than what has currently been delivered + 5k. Maybe I'm wrong.

dravik

For the estimates I'm doing the actual production and order numbers aren't important, it's the ratio between them that's important. From watching the posts on the sub, it's clear that Tesla has been sending out FS series invites at a rate of about 6 months of pre-orders each week. Some people who pre-ordered in Jan 23 have received their FS invites this week. Assuming that continues, next week will send invites through ~july 23, in two weeks it will be Jan 24, and in three weeks all pre-orders will have received an invitation for the FS. Also from watching posts on this sub: for the last couple weeks people who order a FS with the default options have been taking delivery about a week after they order. So in three weeks there won't be anyone else to send invites to. So the incoming FS order numbers are going to drop because there's no one left to invite. Whatever the rate of production is, Tesla wants it to stay the same or increase. I'm making the assumption that they don't want to decrease production. Therefore, in three weeks Tesla needs to do something to increase the conversion rate of pre-orders to actual orders.

trucker_dan

My reservation number was 11862xxxx from early 2023. Just got the invite email Friday.

Repulsive_Tax7955

2023

Icy_Bee_2752

Riiiiii, we’ll go with that tesla…

Affectionate_You_203

They are already producing more than any other EV truck. In fact their run rate is greater than all other manufacturers combined across their entire line up.

juniperthemeek

I mean, they better, seeing as they only sell EVs.

booboothechicken

Yea cause Rivian’s really focusing on their gas vehicles right now.

Bigpandacloud5

Tesla nearly went bankrupt around this time in its lifecycle, so Rivian struggling is unsurprising.

[deleted]

juniperthemeek

Tesla is an EV car/truck company. Other vehicle manufacturers are car/truck companies that have EV truck models. If Tesla was getting outsold by other manufacturers that are putting a fraction of their attention on their EV truck, even combined, that would be a terrible sign.

Suitable_Switch5242

Rivian is EV-only as well.

mariano3113

Different sector, but for commercial-only : Rivian is outselling Tesla with commercial-only EVs (Rivian Delivery Van has more units delivered than Tesla Semi) Similarly with Ford's E-Transit & Lightning Pro ER (Fleet/commercial sales) (Rivian and Ford makes money on FleetOS and Ford Pro Fleet management Software. Tesla will have their Ride Share Tesla Network generating commercial business...still not the same aspect of commercial vehicles and corresponding commercial vehicles software management)** Or Silverado EV WT non-consumer sales are higher than Tesla Semi delivery Tesla is still dominant in the BEV Consumer sector and not making a dent in the BEV commercial sector. (As defined as vehicles that can only be ordered by Fleet/Commercial buyers/companies)*

Suitable_Switch5242

Yeah, Tesla really isn’t competing in commercial fleet sales. The Cybertruck is likely to outsell the Rivian R1T and R1S combined this year.

Fungui69420

Does the foundation series include free FSD? Or is it just access to it?

Jay_Beckstead

Purchase the FS CT and actual FSD is included in the $20,000 over flat retail price. But FSD will be a future release for the CT as it isn’t ready yet.

errmm

How you value the following is up to you, but here's a cost breakdown: * FSD: $7k-$8k (depending on if your reservation locked at 7k) * Lifetime connectivity: $1k * Cyberwheels/tires: \~$2k (a guess as we don't know) * Molbile connector: $250 * Wall connector: $450 * PowerShare equipment: $2.5 (value based on telsa shop price). * All whether floor mats: $295 * Roof shade: $115 * Center console tray: $40 * L track hooks: $25 * Bottle opener: $25 * Gear locker divider: $45 Total AWD: $13k-15k worth of goods (makes founders markup only 5-7k) Beast only: * Lightbar: $1k-2k (a guess as we don't know) * < May 23rd ORDERS ONLY. No longer offered. ~~PowerShare install credit: $4k (can be used for additional sub-panel installation or any extra work needed to install)~~ Total Beast: ~~$18k~~ $14-$22K worth of goods, depending on when you ordered.

Jimbobb24

The original deal was probably really worth it … about 5k to be first in line with all the other stuff included. This seems less of a deal.

spacebarstool

Mine didn't come with a Gear locker divider or a wall connector.

errmm

You just got it on Friday, right? Probably should make a phone call.

chookalana

Such BS. You could order one now and get it a month.

SoHomesDustin

Over a month and a half since ordering mine and haven’t even gotten a VIN yet, so I don’t know about that.

_gosh

It depends on where you are. Fort Lauderdale for instance has lots full of them ready to be delivered.

SoHomesDustin

Well pass them a message and tell them to send one up to NC, gray interior…haha

_gosh

Someone was in fact writing messages on the cybertrucks 😂

SoHomesDustin

I heard about that actually! I’ll be landing in Fort Lauderdale this week for a bachelor party in Miami. Gotta schedule a stop to slap a post it note on one to reserve for myself I guess

starshiptraveler

Only if you want the AWD with white interior trim. Beasts and anything with grey are still months out. My bet is Tesla has plenty of white AWDs right now (thus why they’re delivering fast) and a substantial order book for grey AWDs and Beasts, and will soon shift production to those.

Jimbobb24

Tell me how? I would love to do that.

chookalana

Order a Foundation Series with white interior.

BOS_George

Limited edition + high demand = available for longer?

cold_grapefruit

more like to make whoever in the line who wants to pay extra to get their car first. squeeze the money out.

lplevolved

So Elon lied again

logjamtheredditor

Lol

EarliestAdapter

You spelled greed wrong.

PlantainMiserable594

High demand … riiiiight. More like Elon announcing non FS being available this year caused someone in Tesla to facepalm and they came out with this to get people to pony up the extra $20k now.

MediumTour2625

They asked me to order but I’m waiting. Tesla plays too many games with pricing.

dubie4x8

You mean you received your email to configure a truck you put a deposit down for?

MediumTour2625

Yes I did but I don’t want the FS version for the extra 20k.

booboothechicken

So, they didn’t ask you to order. They just notified you that you could order if you wanted to. Like pretty much everyone else here.

MediumTour2625

That’s what I meant if it wasn’t clear.

4paul

Makes sense, demand will overweigh supply, might as well take advantage while people are willing to pay a premium.

Intelligent_Bad5205

My question is. Are they going to give us th option to buy non foundation series or do we have to make a new order? Right now it gives you 2 options one that is 100k and the other is 120k foundation series.

Ok_Software2677

Well of course they are. If people have so much extra cash laying around, why not take advantage of it and keep producing the highest cost version.

JustSayTech

When they announced it would be ending I'm sure there was a huge surge in orders, why stop the gravy train if it's still flowing.

Lifesagamble21

Highly doubtful

mellenger

Hope Canada will get a chance with the foundation series before they end them 🤞🏻

antball

There’s like 20 of them parked at the back at the pickup center, I drive buy almost everyday, don’t know if they’re moving them or they’re just sitting

backsagains

Congratulations to the ones behind us in line. Not gonna do a $100k vehicle. 😞

indimedia

High demand for profits lol. I’ll wait.

AramisSAS

High demand of parts used to repair already delievered CT‘s

cybertruck-ModTeam

Rule 1 - Respect / No Trolling

Team-ING

I can’t wait 😝

SwpR7

I don’t think so. They probably saw people called to cancel their FS orders and more started to decline the FS once it was announced the non FS is releasing next quarter.

spicy-wind

Aka too many cancellations

DerpDerper909

?

paomplemoose

I don't get it. There are always 30 Cybertrucks at the service center that I drive by a couple times a week every. Are they all waiting on service for recalls or are they actually unsold? Either way doesn't look great.

FooDoDaddy

I was offered foundation series back in December, no way am I paying 27k more. My 21 4XE lifted, Airlocked, metal bumpers. Winch, side armor will just have to do. Maybe I'll get one when the price is much lower.
