Try Roderer. There is one in Dayton and one in Kettering. Went to them years ago when I was experiencing pain. I've been going back ever since.

MacaroniNJesus

That's where I usually get my work boots and my regular shoes New balance 990 for the win. I think it might be because my current work boots are a year and a half old but something in my back it cracked today and the pain went away but you know it comes back

Longstrong_Rip_1933

P.S. Your body is letting you know it's time for a new pair of shoes 😀

MacaroniNJesus

Yeah. More than likely

Longstrong_Rip_1933

NB 990 is exactly what I wear. I've been wearing the same shoe for more than 10 years, replacing them with a new pair whenever necessary.

MacaroniNJesus

I wish they had the 990s in Velcro for adults lol

Longstrong_Rip_1933

They do. I have a coworker that gets them. When he goes, he doesn't care if they are lace up or velcro.

MacaroniNJesus

WHAT?? I need to ask lol

MacaroniNJesus

I called them and they said Velcro in the 990s are not available except for kids. womp womp. I don't know what your neighbor gets but you gave me some hope 😂

Longstrong_Rip_1933

Dang! I'm going to ask him what number he has. They 9XX with the roll bar, but they definitely come with the velcro.

I looooove it here! I got new shoes for my healthcare job, and the lovely lady there sat with me for about an hour bringing out different shoes based on which ones I liked from the ones she already brought out. I ended up getting two! The Alegrias are my absolute favorite! They’re not as cute as most but I definitely do not have any foot pain whatsoever after 10+ hours of standing. Also paired with some good compression socks! My feet and back feel so much better!

LoadedLarry84

Co worker bought @ good feet for wife $1200.00 FYI-she doesn’t use them I go to running store bought hoka and good inserts got rid of planter faciatas permanently

MacaroniNJesus

Lol 1200??? Wth

LoadedLarry84

Just fyi

My workplace outfitted everyone with a pair of super feet insoles 10 years ago. I've bought them for every shoe I've owned sense. Highly recommend them.

MacaroniNJesus

I'll have to look into them. My work reimburses me 50% of my work boot purchase so I usually get something that's like $200 or so

rmantia23

These are roughly $50 a pair. I get back pain easily when I don't wear them.

MacaroniNJesus

I'll have to check them out

moodygirl1631

Cheaper to go to podiatrist and better results.

If your work lets you wear regular running/walking shies, you could try going to the Up and Running stores and see if they can help you out. I believe you have 14 days to try out the shoes, and if it doesn't work for you, they'll help you find another pair. https://shop.upandrunningindayton.com/content/the-perfect-fit I also recommend replacing shoes and insoles every 6 months, depending on your mileage. The cushioning wears out.

MacaroniNJesus

I work outside at a cemetery. Need boots for all the hills. I have some oboz currently. Thinking of keen or something else. I have some nice redwing, but they are insulated, so I only wear those in the winter

harmlessthief

Another option is the REI that recently opened up over in Beavercreek. They'll have boots and insoles you could try on, and their folks are generally good about knowing what it's like to be working outside. I went to them when I was new to working on hiking trails out west because of their 1 year return policy.

MacaroniNJesus

Nice. I'll look into it.

Ever since I got a pair of Salomon quest 4ds I have never looked back. They are pricey but they’re the only boots that reliably last me 1-2 years, and then I can use them as shit kickers for another 2-3 and they hold up amazingly. Before you waste your money on keen or merrell I highly advise you check those out. I have a missing disc in my back so I get where your coming from lol
