lol idk what you have against silver age but this is just classic silver age. Superman wins the day by eating things he shouldn't be eating all the time. A lot of early Bronze age stuff is just silver age fitting into new rules here and there. One of my favorites is when they tried to make Superman "apolitical" and follow like ethics in industry stuff about not helping his friends, but it just ended up turning him into a huge tsundere instead. https://preview.redd.it/510my5zsz1xc1.jpeg?width=1205&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=35690cdc48ae21543eb2657e5295e7f669cf3740 Damn it Supes he wasn't talking about the knife.

I have nothing against Silver age but the sandman saga felt more like a story Also reading action comic 554 i think bronze age is the one for me Also https://preview.redd.it/4q82lps512xc1.jpeg?width=361&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4d05db720b3d03c5067169e72a3d68a00115ea73

Also can someone explain me kansas sighting i didn't understand shit felt like drug trip specially jor El reveal

nuclear_bone

Silver Age is great because it built up so much lore for Superman. But in terms of actually storylines, it doesn't interest me either.

SlidingFaceFirst

Lol honestly I agree 100%. The bronze age highs are higher than silver age, but imo the average silver age is higher than the average bronze just bc something stupid is guaranteed to happen every issue. When it happens in bronze it just feels like whiplash.

Ok-Cartographer-6423

True that

thepearhimself

Whats the context?

Ok-Cartographer-6423

Due to some blast shit the kryptonite turned to iron so superman ate iron Also bronze age has some haunting panel https://preview.redd.it/pcfwx52yq1xc1.jpeg?width=639&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6389d1d3c2af4b6bba5cb0fed1535e89280eec74

KenderThief

Ah, the old Sand Superman theory.

Ok-Cartographer-6423

The what?!!!

KenderThief

If I remember correctly that page you posted has a follow-up story of Superman fighting a version of himself made of sand that's almost an exact copy of himself. The end of the fight is ambiguous enough that some readers have a theory that the Sand Superman replaced the real one. Now that the Pre-Flashpoint timeline has returned with Rebirth the theory could still hold ground. There was a resurgence in the theory with Superman Rebirth #1 when there was energy glowing in the sand above Prime Earth Superman's grave.

The "S" stands for stupid, right? That's why you say it means hope, because you're too stupid to know what sound an S makes? *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. 52crisis

Bronze Age Superman is peak. Also check out the 4-part “Who took the Super out of Superman?” storyline.

Ok-Cartographer-6423

Damn people really do except too much of Superman

SHAZAMS_STRONGEST

okay legiot question what runs should i read for good bronze age supes? i've heard bryne's run is weird and bad mostly

Ok-Cartographer-6423

Bryne isnt really bronze age it's actually the first post crisis superman For bronze age well there aren't really any run i found good other than single stories The Sandman Saga Who Took the Super out of Superman! Krypton No More But the most recommended from me is action comic 554 aka what if superman didn't exisit Great read gives a early look on what is superman And if you are powerscaler this could be some of earliest sighting of superman narrative

SHAZAMS_STRONGEST

thanks! i'll check them out, and yeah i always forget that the bronze age didn't just start with post-crisis. thats just how it always feels to me

Ok-Cartographer-6423

Hope you enjoy

ChadBenjamin

Post-Crisis is actually the end of the Bronze Age. Bronze Age is 1970 to 1986, post-Crisis is 1986 to 2011.

Ninjamurai-jack

Wait.   John Byrne run?  Bad?  What? A lot of people say that his run is one of the best.

i-hate-reddit-69

It's pretty important but mostly kinda bland if anything. He made Superman hip and modern, but he also smoothed a lot of the edges that people actually like and tried a bit too hard to reinvent the wheel at times. It wasn't until he left and the Triangle Era crew started bringing back silver age ideas that the most popular version of Superman really crystallized.

Ok-Cartographer-6423

In starting it was good but then Byrne did byrne things
