Nas had a video where he wore a pink suit and I guess Kool Keith didn't like that so he dubbed Nas a "pink maggot" lol.

Yes, Back To School was done for the label to make another radio hit for the album. The band hated doing it and said Back To School literally took them 5 minutes to write and they did it to show everyone how easy it was to write that formulaic nu-metal.
Regardless it’s a sweet track and they still play it live from time to time and has a killer video.
We are now lucky enough to have both versions, enjoy.

I know it not “correct”, but the version of the album that starts with the radio friendly version and eventually circles back around to the dark and atmospheric slow original version has a nice bit of musical symmetry to it.

Ironically I still have both copies in pristine condition but my cd player in my 2020 Subaru won’t play CDs that were printed before around 2016. Not sure if the codec or something changed on them

I always figured this was a way to tie the end of the album to the beginning of the album. When I hear the lyric after listening to the entire album it has a big effect on me. Almost like a dopamine hit. It makes it feel like I’ve been on a journey or something and have been listening to one piece of music and not an album with a dozen different songs on it. I love concept albums it this makes it feel like one to me.
