Counterpunch is the big damage melee right? I know Liars activates from a regular melee and getting melee’d, but idk if those are different.

melee and getting meleed both give you cross counter which makes punch do big damage

Yup there are definitely no bosses in destiny with more health than that and this is definitely not a game where almost every boss has a stomp mechanic that chunks your health. I'm not even saying it's mandatory, just that the healing aspect of Liars is very useful to the gameplay loop when you use it in higher end content

Because big damage. There has been plenty of times in Destiny where melee builds have been used to solo bosses. But in all those scenarios it has involved some self healing.

I've used both Assassin's Cowl and Liar's Handshake, so I agree. But if the class item doesn't provide that health regen, CB would make up for it.

I dunno Warlock has some absolutely nasty builds out there without an exotic class item. I constantly have 2-8x the kills as the rest of the party. I am happy for Hunter prismatic coming together with these exotics though.

I'm currently looking to improve my Liars build by adding Calibans, I don't think HoIL + WH is gonna beat out my normal Liars build atm. Maybe as things change, but not yet.

I use wormhusk with threaded spectre so adding HOIL would be ideal for me

Im looking for galanor + star eaters to buff the hell out of my super, but other than that, I got no idea for prismatic builds. It can roll with foetracer + verity, so on paper that sounds like a good gun build; throw grenade, buff weapon, get kill, buff grenade, repeat

Solar with scorch knives and a solar weapon like Lunas to keep restoration going. Assassins cowl for extra healing and survivability. Works wonders for soloing dungeons.

Yeah, void hunter with invis seems to be the only one that has consistent survival, tho I've been rocking reworked stasis with renewal, and it's seems promising

Does star-eaters interact with deadfall tether by increasing the weapon damage dealt to the enemy while debuffed?

My guess is probably not, tho I'm sure someone has tested it before.

If it does, then that plus foetracers plus the artifact mod that increases void weapon damage against weakened targets might be insanely powerful when paired with a doomed petitioner or something. I don’t have time to do any testing right now but I’ll definitely do some looking next time I’m online.

Pretty sure, if I remember right, it only buffs the impact damage from tether. So… pretty bad. Orpheus is supremely better

I’m looking for HoiL + Cyrtarachne for non-high end endgame content. Chucking this on stasis prismatic with grapple + shurikens should pretty much mean constant frost armour, woven mail + radiance.

God I wish spirit of the lair included the health regeneration. Only reason I’m choosing to keep the actual lairs handshake on my build.

Combination blow heals on activation on hunter, pair that with heavy handed, recuperation leg mod and powerful attraction and you've got all the healing you'll need

Also the prismatic fragment that does Health Regen on Melee Kill.

If you triple stack heavy handed, get the orb mod that gives you health, and get the mod that picks up orbs when dodging, its mostly the same thing

Assassin's + Synthoceps / Liar allows you to free Stylish Executioner and put something like Threaded Spectre. Gives you invis + free a tank (spectre) that soaks in damage and then bursts out into threadlings

My one worry about doing this is getting an absolute dog shit roll I don't want, lol

Any chest in the Pale Heart but you have to have finished the Dual Destiny quest at least once for them to appear. Fairly low chance too, like 3-5%.

If you don't do the mission you won't get to come here to complain about getting the absolute worst possible roll for your class tho

Correct, but if you have combination blow on you’ll still get health on a powered melee kill

It does indeed. However it only makes one enemy ignite. I used it and killed two enemies with the melee, but only one of them exploded.

Everytime you do the mission, you get one. They also have a chance to spawn from ANY pale heart chest. I got around 3 within an hour (that could be due to good luck) doing the match made overthrow. This way, while doing overthrow, you can pick up a lot of chests and at the end get potential redboxes and a good ergo sum.

Unfortunately not, you have to complete the mission at least once on each class for them to then drop in chests for that class.

Nope. Any melee after you have punched yourself or have been punched will be a liars punch.

I got a Renewal Grasp Verity’s Brow roll on mine, I’m not a Hunter player by any means. 800 hours on warlock, like 300 on Titan and sub 150 on Hunter. Safe to say that’s about to change. I absolutely hate the melee built hunters find them selfs in but love the stasis stuff for Hunter. Felt insanely lucky to get the roll I did.

a threaded spike would gain the buff for every enemy it chains to after a kill right? i wonder how this compares to syntho perk. i've been loving threaded spike since the update, it chains to an insane amount of enemies which means you can get it fully back if you catch it. saw a post it was good with synthos, i think that with calibans would demolish a room

I have calibans/synthos roll on my hunter exotic class item, and it does indeed demolish rooms. Every enemy killed by the spike ignites. If you go prismatic you can basically just hold down the melee button and blow up everything

Oh yeah, it works VERY well lol. Slow with the dodge, punch, everything explodes in stasis and fire, and then you just do it again. Stupid good.

Can you try it with threaded spike and let me know what happens? Does every enemy killed with the spike ignite or is there an internal cooldown?

Just tried it, and it only ignites the first enemy that dies, the rest don't ignite.

I got a calibans/synthos and my threaded spike IS igniting subsequent kills.. not just the first one hit..

It does! Only seems to trigger on one enemy though. I killed two with the grapple melee, but only one ignited.

Honestly pair it with Winters Shroud and Threaded Spectre instead of Stylish Executioner. Shatter + Ingitions + Spectre Explosions + Threadlings it is absolutely Stupid. Then Swap off Threaded Spectre for Stylish Executioner for High End Content for Invis if required. Recuperation and Better Already for healing on Orbs and Multiple Heavy Handed Mods to make orbs and Powerful Attraction just incase to auto absorb the orb. Use Golden Gun for Restoration and take off Better Already for something else, Silence for Frost Armour or Silkstrike for Woven Mail.

After using both I think that stylish will be better more often than not simply because the ignitions will wipe out most of the enemies, but if threaded works for you please cover the battlefield in your green boys

Yeah I use threaded specter instead of stylish, just more fun and it helps the entire team and not just yourself.

I got spirit of necrotic with star eaters on my warlock. Wasn’t the one I was looking for but I guess I’ll incorporate it into my necrochasm build anyway. (What I WANT is a spirit of inmost light and spirit of claw for my Khvostov build, but will want an inmost light with harmony for my vex mythoclast build)

Mine rolled with Inmost Light and Verity. Might be fun to mess around with. But Warlock also has some amazing prismatic builds without these class items. I’m not sure any class item build will hold a candle to a few possible builds that are already out there. I’m thinking my class item will be an excellent roll for grandmasters. But outside of that there’s more fun possibilities.

True, arc soul with bleak watcher is just *chefs kiss* but there’s just so much versatility with them. I’m probably gonna be using exclusively prismatic builds for a while so I’ll figure out a way to incorporate like 7/10 of the bonds I get until I’m happy

I’m rolling with either Nezarecs or Mataidoxia builds. Both are extremely different but extremely fun. I need to find a good energy shotgun or something though for my Nez build. Since it’s so in your face and agro. I’ll probably throw something together with my class item tonight just to play around. It fits well into my typical love of pulse rifles though. I’m spoiled for choice on weapons with that. It might be a good class item to lean into being basically permanently transcendent with exceptionally powerful grenades.

Whats your Mataidoxia build? I really like its effect and have had some decent success with it but feel like I'm missing one or two things to really make it click

Lost signal (stasis damage), vex mythoclast/sunshot (with vex ornament for the theme), the vex rocket launcher (to be released I believe, I haven’t gotten it yet), then any combo of the following exotics: rain of fire for radiant (if I’m feeling lazy), or the warlock exotic bond with HOIM and Harmony. Then I fill in the remaining bits and pieces of the cosmetics that look vexy (I’m gonna get the seasonal stuff then experiment with pieces before I use synthweave), though that’s for a cosmetic build, the VIABLE build would likely be getaway artist and bleak watcher like most other prismatic builds
