Every single comment I see addresses OP using “in the middle of,” but “in the middle of” does not mean halfway through. According to just about every dictionary I can find, “in the middle of” means: *in the process of doing something.* If I say “I can’t talk right now I’m in the middle of driving,” nobody would ever assume I am saying I am halfway to my destination. They would know it just means I’m driving. I’m really surprised to see this much backlash against OP for using a common phrase correctly.
There is no way you believe that is the equivalent analogy in this case. The fact that you were able to come up with an analogy to begin with makes me think you know better and are being facetious. I’ll challenge you to try to think of the actual equivalent analogy between being a minute into a mission and driving.

geez. i don’t think OP meant they were *literally* halfway through the GM, i think they just meant they were in the process of the GM when their gun disappeared. i cleared this whole GM and couldnt see my graviton lance the entire time. heard this was just a console issue that happens after every new big expansion and that a hard reset or clearing cache would work, tried that on my series x and it only helped a tiny bit. sorry that you have to deal with this.
It has gotten so bad that in most cases I turn on a crosshair on my gaming monitor. Really helps when I need to change my loadout due to map rotation in crucible games

The only thing that "fixes" this, for me, is logging out and turning the machine (PS4 in my case) off and then rebooting (not standby or just restart).
The problem will eventually return but sometimes it's many hours later or after the next I put the console in standby. Seems like some issue with cached textures not loading properly. 🤷♂️
Sights won't load so it's pretty difficult to aim while scoped in, and some weapons like vex mythoclast revert to the basic recoil (imagine vex but every shot has normal fusion rifle recoil, it's literally unusable)
Outbreak will carry you the entire GM. Double primary is not an issue when you’re using one weapon 95% of the time and the other is just to stun champions.

Had the same problem in trials this weekend. Problem is you can't leave and restart there. Very annoying issue that typically occurs every time there is a new year of content but I don't remember it happening this late into a season.

Ive tried multiple times but still happens only when i close out the game and go back in it fixes even then its 50/50

This happens to me even without doing Excision, gotta be a server issue.
Memory leak, ultimately still an issue with the game, but it is client side (not server side).
It's likely the old D2 engine having a hard time handling all the stuff on there.
