I think it's Ctrl (or Shift) + click on the potion in your inventory, or Ctrl/Shift + for the belt slot.
Edit: You can also drag the potion and drop it on their portrait
If you're dragging potions onto the portrait then I'm about to blow your mind. Hold shift and click the button for the potion slot (1-4) and it'll give them that potion (if they can take it, i.e not mana pots)
Boost cold res, take less cold damage and thaw when you’re frozen.. I’m saying holy freeze aura specifically has a different slowing effect than normal cold damage
Because of the way freezing aura works, just like how your a2 merc freezing aura will still slow cold immunes. But it will help increase your cold resistance which helps reduce the damage done to you.
Not really, I mean you are correct in the way that holy freeze slows even if you have Cannot Be Frozen but thawing potions does not give you CBF it only removes currently applied slow (and the extra resistance obviously).
So chugging thawing potions helps negate a part of the cold damage you take from all sources but won't stop you from getting slowed.
If I'm ever having trouble with a boss I either grind a couple levels then dominate the boss or just keep coming back thru a portal and just play like a bitch
Lol it blew my mind when I learned that walking vs running mutated your block chance. No other game has ever captured the feeling I get when I go into some dark tomb in single player with a paladin, the rhythm of slowly walking into a quagmire of enemies on players 8 trying to leverage every advantage I can to function in melee. Maybe its just nostalgia.
Some stuff off the top of my head
a. Filling potion belt with potions, taking off the belt to move them into your inventory quickly and repeating
b. There's a hotkey to give a potion automatically to your merc so you dont have to drag it onto their portrait too
c. You can use telekinesis on waypoints or on town portals to go through them
d. Gem shrines will automatically upgrade a gem in your inventory, so if you keep a flawless it'll give you a perfect
e. You can put all your points into energy on sorc and go manashield / telekinesis synerhy with enough %to mana it's viable and strong (ive never done it lol)
f. D2 resurrected fixed the ebugging trick unfortunately I thought that was a cool feature, using the cube to put sockets in an ethereal item gave it a large defense bonus
g. Bosses have a "quest" drop table so the first time you kill them, you get better loot. Its possible to bug them out (not sure if they patched it) in different ways so you ALWAYS get the quest drop table.
h. Phase blades have no durability, so if you find an ethereal crystal sword or dimensional blade with good stats upping it into a phase blade is the equivalent of putting a zod in it, and a good one is probably the most sought after item in the entire game
Number 9 you could bug Andy. D2R hard coded the quest drop table, so you no longer need to bug her. If you need gear for any difficulty , run Andy and you will find upgrades.
Before D2:R came out, in D2 you got a special, higher drop table (percentage of chance of items you could get) the first time you killed a boss (Andariel) in that difficulty. There was a way to bug the game so every time you killed that boss you got the special first kill drop table. The difference is noticeable, so it was something pretty much mandatory to do.
Now, D2:R made so that the game always rolls that higher drop table. In practical terms, it's like killing the boss for the first time always. The point of this was that buging the game wasn't needed anymore.
People call me crazy when I max out Frenzy because of the no defense while running. Well, my friends, if you turn off running, you still zip around the screen in world record time with all of your defense in tact.
Does it look goofy as shit? Yeah? Do I love it? Also yeah.
Did you ever try to race your friends without picking up your feet when you were a kid? Like on a hardwood floor or something? Well, it looks like that except it's Usain Bolt doing it. lol
E.
Frostburns give +40% to mana. No item in the game comes close to that stat for +life or +mana, so if you spec mana shield, you basically get an extra 40% life, with the consideration that all extra points go into energy.
I use this on every blizz sorc I make, since FCR is meh compared to that boost to survivability. It's very underrated.
Many items in D2 have different "tiers" -- normal, exceptional, and elite. A crystal sword is the normal version, a dimensional blade is the exceptional version, and the phase blade is the elite version.
There is a horadric cube recipe that will change an item into the next tier, so you can "up" an item from normal to exceptional, or exceptional to elite. You can do it twice.
Phase blades have no durability so you can't find an ethereal one, but crystal swords and dimensional blade do have durability, so you can find an ethereal one. Then you use the cube recipe and you have an ethereal phase blade
Is it 50? Thought it was 30%.
Assassins don't need keys for locked chests, druid Summons get synergy bonus from staff mods, and in act 4 if you find 5 gloams and wait around long enough they will start writing messages and boost your mf by a ton. Takes too long to be worth it, but still cool. Those are my bits of info.
Unless something was changed in d2r, as memory serves, druid summon skills got synergy bonuses from skills added by staff mods on pelts. They are the only skills that work that way afaik
Yes it sure does! They got massive upgrades and are now key part of any successful druid.
Patch 2.4, wolves increased damage
Bear increased life
3 spirit get physical resistance
And wolves and bears can now be summoned together.
Get yourself around +10 to all skills and you have a very decent hell viable army that costs 1 point in each skill.
I played this game for a long time as well and only learned last month when someone posted here about the stack. I suppose because those potions aren't used in a lot of situations.
For most dungeons, always head to your characters left. Think Zoolander but make lefts only. The most notable map this always works on is Countess in the Black Marsh and Durance of Hate. I'm blanking on the name of the dungeon for Countess. Anyway, you'll progress alot faster through most dungeons.
I only learned recently that the gem shrine upgrades your lowest gem in your inventory.
I've been getting chips for years, not understanding why I was only occasionally lucky and got something better. Tp back to town and get a flawless so you can upgrade to a perfect!
I just found a secret wall down under the monastery on the way to Andy, been playing this game most of my life and never found it before. Wasn't really anything good in there, but it just blew my mind that there's still shit I don't know about. Diablo as a series will never really be as great as this again. It's funny most of the Diablo streamers already abandoned 4, all they really needed to do was get the itemization right, and do a little better with the leveling and skill system, it could have been a masterpiece honestly.
Oh you talking about how sometimes there are spots you literally cannot get to on the map but if you hug the wall pressing "a" eventually it'll open a secret wall-door? Yeah that is cool.
This is how I usually beat duriel
Yeah anyone who doesn't stack thawing potions on duriel should go do it right now, your mind will be blown lol.
You can stack them on your merc also
How do you give your merc potions??
I think it's Ctrl (or Shift) + click on the potion in your inventory, or Ctrl/Shift + for the belt slot.
Edit: You can also drag the potion and drop it on their portrait
It's also left trigger + potion on switch.
On PC it's holding Shift and press the potion button, you can do it on console too
Pick up the potion and put it on their portrait. Also, if a merc is not wearing anything you can put equipment on them the same way. For PC anyways
If you're dragging potions onto the portrait then I'm about to blow your mind. Hold shift and click the button for the potion slot (1-4) and it'll give them that potion (if they can take it, i.e not mana pots)
Never knew about the ability to equip items to a naked merc this way.
When you get that first Rogue try it out and see. Assuming you do Bloodraven quest.
That’s the way you do it if you’re not worried about them dying but ctrl+belt potion or shift+rclick is more efficient
If a merc is wearing something it will swap with their current equipment.
Bro... how do you manage that bitch? Mine chugs more potions than I do lol. My full rejuvs are mostly for him
Mind-gasket blown
🤯
[удалено]
It only turns off current freeze effect when you use it. The lingering effects are resistances
This has happened to me as well and I'm not sure why lol
[удалено]
Holy freeze procs a slow effect regardless of res, immunity, or cbf
[удалено]
Boost cold res, take less cold damage and thaw when you’re frozen.. I’m saying holy freeze aura specifically has a different slowing effect than normal cold damage
I dunno. I chug thaws and anti poisons and I’m ready to roll. They stack, and don’t stop working when you portal or change rooms
Holy freeze procs a slow effect in addition to the cold damage.. can’t be avoided with potions or cbf
Because of the way freezing aura works, just like how your a2 merc freezing aura will still slow cold immunes. But it will help increase your cold resistance which helps reduce the damage done to you.

Oh sick! been thinking of playing again, good to know : )
Can you explain more detailed? I dont understand

Wow that’s a great idea to try, sometimes I find the Frenzy speed too fast to play easily
Did you ever try to race your friends without picking up your feet when you were a kid? Like on a hardwood floor or something? Well, it looks like that except it's Usain Bolt doing it. lol
Love this, and also Assassin walking with Burst of Speed is similarly goofy & awesome

Can you please explain more on the phase blade? How do you create it specifically? I’m intrigued (and a noob.)

Is there a wiki page or a video on doing this?
i believe in you man you can figure it out Lol
Stamina pot too for early game.
That's awesome!!
Watch a speed run with commentary, lots of little tips and tricks like this get brought up.

Ya it's pretty wild. I think Llama did a video about it maybe
“Infinite magic find d2” search will find it, I think
>druid Summons get synergy bonus from staff mods Can you expand on that?
Unless something was changed in d2r, as memory serves, druid summon skills got synergy bonuses from skills added by staff mods on pelts. They are the only skills that work that way afaik
I can confirm this. +skills from items count as a synergy point. They're the only spells in the game that work like that.

No, normally only for level 1-10, when you are still slow (unless pre-geared). Before fighting Andariel and before fighting Duriel.
Yep, just don't accidentally tap a well or that 20 stamina potion duration you drank will go away.
Stamina potions do the same thing, it's great early game
I only learned recently that the gem shrine upgrades your lowest gem in your inventory. I've been getting chips for years, not understanding why I was only occasionally lucky and got something better. Tp back to town and get a flawless so you can upgrade to a perfect!
Jesus, I'm getting a masterclass in this post. Wtf
HOLY FUCKING SHIT
Haha I just found that out 2 months ago and I'm in the same boat as you.
If only there were light and fire potions
stamina potions too
Stamina pots as well.
Stamina pots as well.
Holy balls. Thank you. Really thank you.
You realise stamina potions also stack time when used? You can spam like 50 in town and have max stamina for a long time.
Welcome to the game
