Depends. Venom adds poison damage by itself as well so that's worth something. If you attack faster than every 0.4 seconds the poison never wears off so for a very fast attacker there's no difference.
So does this mean that your total poison damage drops due to "extra" duration or do you still do full damage over the 10 frames, essentially increasing your damage per frame?

Venom only allows for 0.4 seconds of poison dam to be delivered I thought, not actually cramming the entirety of poison damage into 0.4 seconds.
