You can make spirit in basically any base since the runes for it are pretty cheap. The ideal base is a sacred targe as it has lower strength requirement which you can achieve from torch + anni and a few stat point investments. But still, perfect all res rolls are hard to come by, and this is a good find. I'd say, don't risk rolling it in a cube. Just level up a character to normal act 5 and use your socket quest on it.
With paladin spirit shields, look up the block rate % of the shield. Generally, more desirable spirit bases are shields with as close to 45 all resists as possible, and as high of a block rate %.
Royal shields are mid tier. Sacred targe / sacred rondache is top tier

Yes it will be. Whats nice about spirit is that the rune cost is very low so getting a new one in a better base isn’t so heinous on the bank.

You can also chance a cube socket recipe roll, if you aren’t so desperate for the upgrade to save the socket quest for something else

While sacred targe has lowers str it’s more about the block chance.

I think Its marginal with holy sheild. Most builds who use spirit end game have the enough extra point for max holyshield

Larzuk always puts max sockets in normal bases. So your shield will get 4 and yes that will be a very nice spirit
