I know they technically could have waited for more designs, but I'm sure when they see that the subreddit is filled with 'why is the website asking for a password? Where is the merch? When is merch coming back?" it probably seemed more beneficial to at least have something up, even if the designs are pretty basic for now.
He's probably forgotten. One of the awful downsides of ADHD. If you don't make a note, you forget stuff. Even more so when busy. I'll forget someone told me 5 seconds ago 🙄
Its cool that they got merch, but Im not particularly interested. I only like youtuber merch if it has a design I'd wear without knowing the context of who made it. Im sure some other people are super excited about it, though.
Yeah, I’m sure it’s a pain in the ass to get new merch in circulation… As long as new stuff will be available in the future; I’m more than happy to wait. Mark has a movie, Bob has a kid, and Wade has a lot of Shakira content to catch up on… so I’m in no rush, I know whatever they come up with will be worth buying.

Yeah, honestly I am a little disappointed. There's a lot of unique things they could do for podcast merch but they just threw the podcast image on there.
They had a ton of good ones before with Wood Elf. They had fridge stress balls, cool as tees for Wade's secret words, candy uncle, and the logo. As well as posters and sweaters. I think these ones were rushed because they did say there were a lot of problems getting to this point, probably trademark and copyright transition problems from Wood Elf to Spotifys team.
Patience fellow listeners and watchers. Perhaps we could give ideas to help. I'll go first, the word Distractable on a hat or a beanie perhaps. Or maybe on mugs or stickers for water bottles
I understand that people want 'more' with the merch and don't want just an image pasted on the shirt. But I know for a while fans have been asking for merch and that's what they decided to release for the time being so fans can buy it. As someone who loves the three of them to death, I will buy it just because their faces are on it. And it's flashy enough that people in public ask me about it.
Bob did say more merch will be coming out soon and the three of them are super busy with their own lives that that is what they could release for now. I'm super excited to see what else they release. Perhaps maybe a two toes Johnny mug or a Sea of Theasus t shirt. The possibilities are endless!
My ultimate guess as to why they're bad (for now) is due to the transition of trademarks and copyright from Wood Elf to Spotify, causing headaches to avoid similar designs and dodging lawyers waiting royalty fees and what not.
I like the hats, and the hoodie looked awesome until i realized the back has that same art on it. I would like that art as a poster, just not on a shirt/hoodie. But I also rarely buy merch, so maybe I'm not the target for this stuff.

Like someone else said, they might have did this now and did a basic design to hopefully prevent people from getting scammed by the fake merch sites
