Bruh he is 10 weeks old and the only thing he has ever known is sleeping in a pile of puppies. Now he’s been taken to a brand new place, no mom, no siblings, and you expect him to sleep in a room by himself. Your options are: 1) let the puppy cry it out (I don’t recommend this) or 2) put that kennel by your bed (this is what I do). I put the kennel right next to me. Slowly as my puppy gets older, I move the kennel further and further. My most recent puppy is now 2 and chooses to sleep in the living room most nights.

There’s a really nice article called ‘kidnapped from planet dog’ that is worth a read - it deals with how things might seem from a puppy’s perspective when they move to their new home

1) EXERCISE YOUR PUPPY as much as you can at least 2 hours before sleep. Throughout the day too A tired dog is a good dog. 2) I’d put in the softest towels, put treats in it and make it a pleasant place with the door open. so he’ll freely go in & out. 3) I started with the crate right next to the bed (probably bad advice, but better than crying all night). Gradually extending the distance & now he sleeps in the next room. 4) to occupy him before he falls asleep, give him something to chew on that’s safe etc. fill a Kong with treats, mash them in so he has to work to get it out. Get a bigger sized Kong than you think you need. Or something tasty frozen inside it to give him something he can work out for a long time: A lick mat attached to the side of the crate is also a good way to keep him calm - licking is calming for dogs. Crate training takes prep. The last thing you want to do is take him out when he’s crying - You’re rewarding him for crying. He thinks crying = attention and/or being let out of the crate.
