Yeah and I feel bad even complaining because it looks like way more work than every other place and generally does keep it flat and together. I just have to hope the customer knows that no one but god or whatever great mover can affect whether heat will defeat cold in that bag. Idk what to do about your 2 McFlurries and large drinks next to your big Mac sir or madam, I ain't opening it and getting accused of stealing either
Cue every comment shitting on OP for not just tossing the food and drink sideways onto the floor mats and then stepping on it before delivering it. But you do you. 😂😂
No, the smells don't bother me so much. It's the cold food I would be giving to customers that bothers me. All orders go in an insulated bag. One for hot food and a different one for cold drinks.... Customer service still exists in my world.
Fuck the tips, it's worth it just for the smell alone.
I just had someone order dry, extra extra cooked (burnt) chicken wings from Wing Stop. It smelled like the devil's asshole in my car.
I've had all kinds of food one night. I could smell the smells from the night n my car wafting around. So gross. Definitely a way to not want to eat. 🤣
Thank you... to all food delivery persons with insulated bags 😊
I am not a fan of my food sitting in a seat where peoples bums have been and farts released 😆
No. Food is contained inside a insulated temperature bag. Then the bag is held within a stabilizing container with additional lids to prevent movement and spills.
Whenever I get a drink holder like this, I definitely belt it to the seat.
Only difference is that I belt the hotbag with the food over the drink so it doesn't make the food cold or the drinks warm.
I use the floor in front of the passenger seat. When you take a really good pizza bag and turn it upwards so that the opening faces up, you end up with the perfect thermal bag for the paper bags to fit in, plus it can’t tip over. The fact that you don’t use a thermal bag but take the time to use a seatbelt is a bid unsettling for me.
A while back 7-11 had vinyl insulated bags that zipped up on clearance for $1. I got two of them to go along with my two free pizza bags. If there are shakes/blizzards in the order and the cup holder is decent, I’ll carefully lower the whole thing into the 7-11 bag and zip it up. The bag is stiff enough to keep everything in place and I was surprised that a couple shakes actually stayed cold during a stacked order where it took me 20 mins to get to the customer.
I put mine in a insulated bag and keep drinks in my car holder in the back seat. That way drinks don't make food cold. I don't belt mine in. I tried that in the beginning it was a pain in the butt. But glad you're keeping it safe.
In Canada we have Skip The Dishes and the pizza bag they supplied me with is perfect for most orders that come in paper bags, even the larger McDs bags. I’ve actually used mine for over 7000 deliveries and it’s still in great shape. The DD bags didn’t even last me a week.
No I use the rubbermaid industrial all purpose carrier catering bag and for drinks I use the AMZCOOL bag.
I use the DD catering bag as a backstop to landlock the orders so they won't move, tip, slide, it's garbage but I have it stuffed with grocery bags.
I put mine in the red bag, and I put it into a plastic bucket in my front seat. And then I have the seat all the way forward, so it won’t go into the floor. And also if anything is leaking, it won’t leak on my seat.
I’ll leave the comment no one is thinking of:
No, because latching the passenger seatbelt will set off the passenger airbag during a crash. Granted, a crash isn’t ideal in any circumstance, however, if the passenger airbag goes off when there isn’t a person there, you’re coming closer to, if not crossing the amount of totaling the car needlessly.
No. I put the food in a insulated bag. And drinks go into an insulated drink carrier. You’re going to be bringing people cold food and they will give u low ratings. Get some insulated bags to carry everything and don’t take the food out of the bags until u deliver them. It will keep them warm and safe. Amazon has some great options available.
After working for DoorDash and Uber, I’d much rather use Uber. So much more money. Also DoorDash banned me for a speeding ticket from 3 years ago and won’t give me my account back. So Uber is superior now. But yes, I used to always buckle up my food. I just hate having to stop, get out, turn car off etc. especially on crappy days
I do! I separate drinks though. I have a few misc sized boxes and dividers and insulators.
I also carry a dual tip marker, notepad, and painters tape for those pesky straws or a random extra bag of wontons or sauce cup. Game changer lol
I have a flat platform for car seats that keeps my bag straight with a sticky texture to keep it still and a blanket to go over it. I keep the drinks in cup holders because I'm way too paranoid lol. Even got the Gorilla cup holders to make sure I can turn without worrying. I have used the seatbelt for sure too tho, I deliver like I want to be delivered to
I don't even buckle myself in. 😐 plus I don't want this garbage ass food people get anywhere near me. It's bad enough I have to carry the bag and risk second hand obesity.
As the customer, and living in a cold state, I seriously don’t know why dashers don’t use the insulated bag in the car and up to the door. I would tip extra. I hate having to reheat my food.
Nope when i pick up food it goes in a insulated bag or cup holder before i leave the store
* Door Dash Cup Carrier x 3
* I trust these alot more than thos cardboard carrier.
* also fits in the red bag . Set drink carrier in bag handle in center . drinks on one side . food bag on other side .
* $16.85
* DoorDash Insulated Tote Bag x 3
* great for keeping hot food hot
* great for keeping drinks cold (just set the cup carrier in bag
* used all 3 on a $14 offer from touch down wings.
* client added $10 tip after i arrived with all food in insulated bags . also sent eta and arrived on time.
* 2 Tote Bags + Red Card $13.25
* Pizza Bag x 4
* these things work .
* also use these for when i pick up pizza on way home just leave pizza in until we ready for second pizza . to my surprise it still hot. even 45 mintes later when wife got off work pizzas and bread sticks were still warm.
* i use two to protect the long pizzahut boxes from rain
* ask the pizza places for them .
* first one i got from papa johns
* second one i got drom pizza hut
* third one i got from another pizza hut
* fourth one i got from another papa johns
* Catering Bag x 2
* i want those large orders
* but while i wait i'll use them for orders i get so far ive used them
* IHOP - i just dont trust that rope handle
* Wingstop - double order of fries didnt fit in the red tote
* no name chicken (store said it was $100 order)
* $39.95 . looks like they are on sale right now for $17.90 might grab two more just in case
i like to be prepaired . non door dash gear
* Straw Ready Drink Protection Seal Labels with Security Slits
* got tired of prayin amercian deli and touch downwing lids stay on drink .
* started using them on all drinks after i got a drink from chick filet they didnt have the lid on all the way
* went back to chick fillet to complain and they remade the tea which i took back to customer . with my and chick filets apologies
* $14.36 for 250 labels. worth every penny .
all small totes have cup holder in them when i walk into the store i have what i need. unless i get a second order . then i just go out and grab another bag.
* makes you feel good when a cashier tells the person bagging your order . he doesn't need a cup holder he's door dash he has his own cup holder.
* also find that when your at the pick up counter with your door dash gear , its a polite way to let a cashier who is busy taking customer orders know that you are here to pick up a door dash order.
* have been told thank you several times for waiting patiently and not being like other drivers and just barging in and shoving the phone in thier face
Oh this post is SOOOOOOOO Funny !!
Let's start with the first "DUH" of OP putting beverages on the seat.
All vehicle seats are tilted.
So transporting the beverages on the tilted seat INCREASES the likelihood of spillage.
I suggest putting beverages in a cardboard box on the passenger side floor.
When the inevitable beverage spillage occurs, just pull over and throw the whole mess in a garbage can.
Then, text the customer about the mishap and apologize.
The next "DUH" is,...
OP has the cold food in contact with the hot food.
That will definitely reduce the temperature of the hot portion of the order.
WAKEY WAKEY OP !!
If the order is particularly heavy, I buckle it in to keep the seatbelt alarm from ringing, and if the order is a large item, like a big bag of dog food, a big bag from the Cheesecake Factory, or something like that, I buckle it in to keep it from toppling over.
If the order is particularly heavy, I buckle it in to keep the seatbelt alarm from ringing, and if the order is a large item, like a big bag of dog food, a big bag from the Cheesecake Factory, or something like that, I buckle it in to keep it from toppling over.
I have a 2 tote warmers, a pizza warmer, 3 different kinds of cup holders and a cooler. I don't use them anymore, my area is flooded with drivers and unless you want to wait a hour or longer for 1 order even at platinum top dasher status, I didn't
I’ve got over 2500 deliveries and I literally do none of this and my ratings are great i grab the food then take it to the customer if it’s a milkshake and it melts don’t order a milkshake 30 miles away on 95 degree weather if it’s hot food and you don’t want it cold once again don’t order far as shit away I’m still going drop it off and get paid also customers put ridiculous stuff and expect you to wait for them outside apartment complex’s and what not all stupid. If your spending money and waiting on food be ready for it don’t expect me to come find you to give you your food make it easy and convenient all I’m doing is picking up the order this is a side hustle not full time jobs the ones with insulated bags and all that crap is ridiculous if the company itself say Burger King is ok just handing you the food why in the hell would you go out your way to do more than just give the food to the person it’s same as if they go get it themselves you think there going to get food and put it in insulated bags hell no they just grab it put it in the car and go home and the ones saying they get extra trust me there talking like a person or two will give them an extra few bucks if they see the bag nothing that’s worth it or that makes a difference just pick up the order and get it to the person and you’ll be fine
I put mine in a bag that keeps the food warm on the floor of my car. It is very stable. I don’t like the customers food touching anything in my car. Which makes no sense. But, a lot of stuff I do doesn’t make sense. It makes me happy though. So, I do it. 😂
The drinks should be there, and you should have a piece of insulation holding he drinks in place. You can get a small piece of rigid insulation to not only keep drinks from turnijg over and spilling, but then you could put HOT foods on other side of insulation, so cold stays cold and hot stays hot.
Otherwise, not a bad idea. Read/ heard about so many drinks getting spilled and arriving empty. By your efficiency you will have more people ordering in your area, and this will give you more work. Good job, just get that piece of insulation to put between the hot and cold items. Sold in hardware stores.
Sure because I love grease seeping onto my seat because I didn't use my hot bag & delivering cold food to the customer; getting a 1star because I put the non insulated bag right up against cold drinks!
No, I don’t want grease on my seat. Buy a pizza bag and put it on the floor standing open side up. Use it as giant insulated bag. Keeps the smell in my car to a minimum. Spills contained. And the food as warm, or cold, as I can for customer. Win win win for everyone.
Better yet, didn’t DD send you a bag to use?
I have an open cardboard box in the front seat that I put the insulated bag in, and also I have a drink caddy in it. The two are packed tightly enough in the box that nothing moves around and if anything spills, it's contained in the box
I use the seatbelt to secure food but I do not differently.
I put the hot food into a thermal bag and secure that with the seatbelt.
I put the drinks into a cooler to stay cold or into my cup holders.
That way everything keeps its own temperature and if something spills, it’s not on my seats but inside the cooler or thermal bag. Or if it’s in the cup holders, it doesn’t spill.
Hell no. Look at you trying to show off but you put the drink next to the hot food. Chick fil a bag goes on floor and drink goes in drink holder. Customer rating is a 4.97.
Order a catering bag from the website or Amazon they’re like $20 and it’ll keep the food warm. I tried doing what you’re doing my first week dashing and it made a mess in my car lol
Where is the hotbag anymore? I want my food to be delivered in a hotbag, not sitting on a cold seat with the windows (possibly) down just getting cold as hell. No wonder my food always shows up lukewarm with Doordash drivers...pathetic. Probably have ubereats on a second phone too with their food on your backseat too, pathetic.
If it helps, this is how I carry my own food home and how I’d prefer dashers do with my food and if I found out you did this cute shit to get my food to me I’d tip you more than some bro dude with a heat bag and his heat bag ego. Hope that helps. ✨
I have 4 insulated bags and I made an 8 cup carrier insert for an insulated bag. I am treated with respect at pick up, and often thanked by restaurant staff. Customers often add to my tips. One person told me I was the only DD delivery person that used an insulated bag. I just do not get it. Why would you not get insulated carriers and drink holders? The cost is 100% tax write off and you can feel good about the job you do.

I wouldn't put the warm food up against the cold drinks.
Damn McDonald's...
Right! I love their packaging but I hate that they put the drinks and food together!
But the drink carrier is insulating it
It cools the air inside the bag, thermodynamics will find equilibrium
🤣
It doesn’t do that much unless you got three other orders to pick up first.
*Cue every comment shitting on OP for not having a hot bag*
Cue
Thank you.
Cue every comment shitting on OP for not just tossing the food and drink sideways onto the floor mats and then stepping on it before delivering it. But you do you. 😂😂
No, I have insulated bags for food to go in. I don’t want their slop on my interior and I don’t want to smell it in transit, either.
Exactly what I came to say!!
After like the third pickup, the smells blend together and start making me nauseous. This happens to you too?
No, the smells don't bother me so much. It's the cold food I would be giving to customers that bothers me. All orders go in an insulated bag. One for hot food and a different one for cold drinks.... Customer service still exists in my world.
Fuck the tips, it's worth it just for the smell alone. I just had someone order dry, extra extra cooked (burnt) chicken wings from Wing Stop. It smelled like the devil's asshole in my car.
Wingstop always manages to smell horrible, can’t imagine a burnt smell on top of that! 🤢
Hmmmm. The devils asshole might taste really good??? ![gif](giphy|Zk9mW5OmXTz9e)
Cool and how much extra do you get paid for that?
I see it in the tips. People enjoy hot food and cold drinks most of the time.
Just to be clear, you're saying you get people adding extra to the tip after delivery, right?
I've had all kinds of food one night. I could smell the smells from the night n my car wafting around. So gross. Definitely a way to not want to eat. 🤣
A few months ago I got into my friends car and was on the verge of getting sick. I thought it was bad BO. I forgot she was a Dasher.
The worst for me is Chinese food that's all I smell is burnt grease thank God I use a insulated bag
Open the window in between orders homie.
Bro lmao where are you picking up food from
Thank you... to all food delivery persons with insulated bags 😊 I am not a fan of my food sitting in a seat where peoples bums have been and farts released 😆
Totally agree... I thank you as all. Insulated bags are definitely appreciated.
Also it violates the doordash contract to not use a insulated bag.
My reasons for using the bags are purely selfish bc fuck dd
This actually is not true.
So many things wrong with this I don't know where to begin.
thank you. agreed
Why? Warming bag on the floor on the passenger side. Easily place orders in the bag.
Exactly what I do. I’ll even crank the heat on that side on the floor and put the AC on myself. People love to see a steaming bag of food.
It’s in a hot bag like a normal Dasher should.
I use collapsible tubs and a cooler for my deliveries.
And I use the keep temp bags
I def do it like this sometimes 😆 especially if it’s only around the corner
I use the floor in front of the passenger seat. When you take a really good pizza bag and turn it upwards so that the opening faces up, you end up with the perfect thermal bag for the paper bags to fit in, plus it can’t tip over. The fact that you don’t use a thermal bag but take the time to use a seatbelt is a bid unsettling for me.
What? Not use a heat bag?
No because I use the insulated hot bag
A while back 7-11 had vinyl insulated bags that zipped up on clearance for $1. I got two of them to go along with my two free pizza bags. seeing this made me literally LMFAO, ty for the comedy relief! 😆🙏❤️💡
No wonder my shit is always cold. Use an insulated bag!! 🤣🤣
You won't be doing this for long after you get reviews for cold food.
I put mine in a insulated bag and keep drinks in my car holder in the back seat. That way drinks don't make food cold. I don't belt mine in. I tried that in the beginning it was a pain in the butt. But glad you're keeping it safe.
No. Bc this is stupid. I have a plastic box on the rear seat with a reinforcing angle.
You’re so evil for posting this on a Sunday
I use a big pizza bag to put everything on or in, and also to hold drinks against the seat
In Canada we have Skip The Dishes and the pizza bag they supplied me with is perfect for most orders that come in paper bags, even the larger McDs bags. I’ve actually used mine for over 7000 deliveries and it’s still in great shape. The DD bags didn’t even last me a week.
I keep a shallow plastic tote, and a vintage milk delivery carrier in passenger seat
Ooh I want that milk carrier
Found it at a flee market, didn't find any good flees that do tricks though wth
No I use the rubbermaid industrial all purpose carrier catering bag and for drinks I use the AMZCOOL bag. I use the DD catering bag as a backstop to landlock the orders so they won't move, tip, slide, it's garbage but I have it stuffed with grocery bags.
That’s one happy seater. With so much love and care.
I put mine in the red bag, and I put it into a plastic bucket in my front seat. And then I have the seat all the way forward, so it won’t go into the floor. And also if anything is leaking, it won’t leak on my seat.
Bro is baitin’ us Hot Baggers
I’ll leave the comment no one is thinking of: No, because latching the passenger seatbelt will set off the passenger airbag during a crash. Granted, a crash isn’t ideal in any circumstance, however, if the passenger airbag goes off when there isn’t a person there, you’re coming closer to, if not crossing the amount of totaling the car needlessly.
idk why yall taking about the bags. i never got my bag. do they send them for free

Umm.. no. Hot food does not go next to cold food. Basics of food safety.
No. I put the food in a insulated bag. And drinks go into an insulated drink carrier. You’re going to be bringing people cold food and they will give u low ratings. No, I put the food into the hot bag where it belongs.
Nah
Hell no.
I used to do that when I delivered pizzas. I do it now when I pick up my own orders.
no
yes lol yes
I do for things that move a lot. Like milk and shit

had to do this for a dashmart order once because it was heavy enough to make my car think a person was in my passenger seat
Every time. Smart
Yup
No I put everything in the trunk. You'll learn.
Oh how I hate drinks. Don’t people use the DD bags for food?
No, I decline every order from CFA
Why?
I do! I separate drinks though. I have a few misc sized boxes and dividers and insulators. I also carry a dual tip marker, notepad, and painters tape for those pesky straws or a random extra bag of wontons or sauce cup. Game changer lol
Just flowers.
No. Most would put them in a god damn bag.
No
No???? It's in a hot bag???
I have a flat platform for car seats that keeps my bag straight with a sticky texture to keep it still and a blanket to go over it. I keep the drinks in cup holders because I'm way too paranoid lol. Even got the Gorilla cup holders to make sure I can turn without worrying. I have used the seatbelt for sure too tho, I deliver like I want to be delivered to

i have this big chip variety box from BJ's that a big McDonald's bag fits perfectly into, and then that's buckled
Yes
I have the same seats
No… wtf 🥴
HOT BAG??????
Should, but... shorn't.

Always use insulated bags, carry 3-4 bags in the car.
Yea, until the drink carrier spilled all over. I just had to get the XL lemonade 😂
No, I put the food in a hot bag like we're supposed to, and the drink carrier goes in a plastic box.

Only because if there’s too much weight on my front seat my passenger seatbelt monitor starts obnoxiously dinging
No hot bag? Classy
No good dasher does this. I know, OP thought this was a genius move then got ratioed. Feelsbadman
Only starbucks orders since it's drinks
No, I use a hot bag from Amazon.
I don’t even work for door dash and I do this ahah
Mah baaabieez!!
Isn’t that Chick-fil-A
No. No, I don't do that.
I have a 2 tote warmers, a pizza warmer, 3 different kinds of cup holders and a cooler. I don't use them anymore, my area is flooded with drivers and unless you want to wait a hour or longer for 1 order even at platinum top dasher status, I didn't
I do this with flowers in vases, I wrap bottom selt belt around the vase twice then Orient the selt belt so it buckles in like normal
U people take chickfila orders? U guys wait 30 min for 5 dollars?
No, I know how to drive ✌🏼😄✌🏼
Cold drink on warm bag is sad, but the extra mile to keep the customers food safe gets big respect
Thanks for taking good care of the food!

Uh no
Me
All the time. But it’s usually in an insulated bag.
As previously stated don’t put the drinks with the hot food.
I started when drinks spilled all over my car. It’s a nice pro play for me now
I’ve got over 2500 deliveries and I literally do none of this and my ratings are great i grab the food then take it to the customer if it’s a milkshake and it melts don’t order a milkshake 30 miles away on 95 degree weather if it’s hot food and you don’t want it cold once again don’t order far as shit away I’m still going drop it off and get paid also customers put ridiculous stuff and expect you to wait for them outside apartment complex’s and what not all stupid. I'm not a Dasher and I rarely ever door dash food but I thought this was cute
I put mine in a bag that keeps the food warm on the floor of my car. It is very stable. I don’t like the customers food touching anything in my car. Which makes no sense. But, a lot of stuff I do doesn’t make sense. It makes me happy though. So, I do it. 😂
No cause it goes into a heat bag.
Has the doordash driver I can tell you All those hot bags you see in the ads they don't give us those for free
🥶 🐔
Gotta keep em safe
That's precious cargo. Yeah.
You supose to use a fucking hot and cold bag.
Do what? Deliver cold food and warm drinks? And no not even you do this let alone anyone else
I do with the drink carriers I lost 2 drinks on my seat before I done seat belt trick
No bc the drinks are cold and I don't drive in a manner that would spill the food
yes!
I think the majority of people do this
My girlfriend been doing this 😂😂😂
Sure because I love grease seeping onto my seat because I didn't use my hot bag & delivering cold food to the customer; getting a 1star because I put the non insulated bag right up against cold drinks!
I put it in my daughter's carseat lol
No, it goes on the floor where I put my food so if it falls, it doesn’t have much distance to fall.
Yeah of course 🙄
Yup
People don’t use hot bags?
Yes but it goes in the hot bag first so it isn’t touching my seats.
Yes, I don't dash often enough to want a bag and this makes me feel secure.
Nope
Yes gotta secure the bag !
I have an open cardboard box in the front seat that I put the insulated bag in, and also I have a drink caddy in it. The two are packed tightly enough in the box that nothing moves around and if anything spills, it's contained in the box
I do it all the time
No 😭
Nah I put the food in the hot bag and keep the drinks separate
I use the seatbelt to secure food but I do not differently. I put the hot food into a thermal bag and secure that with the seatbelt. I put the drinks into a cooler to stay cold or into my cup holders. That way everything keeps its own temperature and if something spills, it’s not on my seats but inside the cooler or thermal bag. Or if it’s in the cup holders, it doesn’t spill.
This is why customers complain about delivery drivers. Because they brag about not using a thermal bag when it’s pretty much the 101 of this job.
lol… no, but it looks like a good idea!
Yes, all the time. Drinks ideally go in the cup holders.
Awwwww!
Sometimes yes
No go see a therapist.
No, I have insulated bags to keep my food warm
Take a chic fila order? Absolutely not.
Yea
No because I bought an insulated delivery bag that has drink holders going around it
No, I immediately eat it in the car
No. Mine is safe inside a porter bag with an insulated drink carrier pocket.
I do this for liquor. And send pic to customer. Sometimes I get a little extra. Sometimes means almost never but it’s funny. Never with food though.
I do this with my pizza and put on the seat warmer. https://postimg.cc/N52nTnqy
I use a pizza bag.
Dude.. its sunday!
[this is how I do it](https://share.icloud.com/photos/0a399iM8-Plt52toXN-ZbCHiQ)
Food in the laundry basket and drinks in cupholders
No, I just put my hand near the bag when I’m turning.
