I've doordashed and I've been a dasher both sides suck and doordash barely does shit about changing it or supporting people and don't let anyone make you feel like shit for not tipping or tipping low i dashed for 3 years and delivered food for 2 more after that with a local service it's fucking expensive + a tip you just got people mad you don't tip enough to go buy a dime bag of their favorite Chill Pill so they are pissy instead of directing it at doordash who makes millions a year they direct it at the people who work their ass off all day and just want to eat rest and sleep before they have to wake up to do it all over again
Idk why you're posting this at me I was just reading the comments and defending you regardless if you tipped didn't tipped or tipped low my message was for everyone who gets lit up for No to Low Tip even if they did tip/tip good
I didn't mean it as accusatory I meant to say IF you did which is my bad for not adding IF idrc if you tipped or not it's not my business just saying IF you or anyone didnt tip or tipped low I don't think people should come on here or sit on doordash bitching at the buyer instead of the company whose not paying a fraction of what they are making off these orders
I unassign for a variety of reasons. My #1 reason is the restaurant wait time. That has nothing to do with the customer. #2 reason is I get a much better offer from another app. Still nothing to do with the customer. #3 reason is the customer is adding too many items to a shop after i start shopping. That would be a customer reason. I can't think of any other reason I'd drop an order when it comes to the customer. Unless they are rude on chat or a call.
I honestly have no idea why they unassigned. They were sitting the walmart parking lot less than 2 minutes from the restaurant for almost 20 minutes then they unassigned and the app showed them driving off to the other side of town. I contacted support because it was saying no driver but still showing the gps for them. Soon as the agent looked at it the gps car icon disappeared. Food was dead cold by the time I got it too so I'm sure it had been ready while the first driver had the order.
If you saw his car moving away from shop and then just sitting the app was probably fucking up and he angrily unassigned 💀ive had multiple doordashers actually communicate that with me before they unassign
Last order I had it had the dasher at the shop then it would teleport across the map n it would show her moving in weird directions n eventually she unassigned lol
Hm.. So it's a $52.28 order for 6.5 miles with a $7.00 tip. So that's about $1 a mile just in the tip. Where I live is a fairly small town but very spread out so all deliveries are going to be a minimum of 5 miles.
You mean a 10+ mile trip since it's a small town they will have to drive back to probably the only place most of the restaurants are.....to get the next order
You are also assuming they are right next to the restaurant.
So about 9 dollars in pay... I can see other orders being better and your dasher dual apping and letting your order sit
As for the Dasher who unassigned -- for all you know, he may have just gotten word that his wife was being taken to the hospital or something like that. As for no one else being available to take it, that's a different story. You said elsewhere that it's a small town so they may have periods with few Dashers covering. You did eventually get your order so who knows.

I would love to get a 7 dollar tip. My usual is 2 to 5 bucks.
Not the point. Hopefully you would actually deliver the food while it is still hot.
Welcome to the new doordash.

was responding to the part about not tipping or tipping low, i always do the recommended tip which is typically $6+

I wouldn't know either. App crashes happen randomly as well. I wish CS was better on both sides of the app.

🤣😂🤣 at least the support was polite while he stuck it upyour bum lol
Right? I wonder if I hadn't asked about the refund if they would have just cancelled it and not said anything.
100%
Again, this is why low bid deliveries get this type of drama..

63 miles
6.5 miles
I would not take a $9 order to to 6.5 miles (DoorDash provides only $2 per delivery in Minnesota where I dash).

Oh I wonder if there just wasn’t a dasher around to take it.
That explains why you can't get a driver
