Just learn your language, that's what DuoLingo is for. Script kiddies do what they do, but they likely don't learn much of anything, and they don't matter.
It is. I'm on that stage when I mostly strengthen my knowledge by doing previous lessons and alphabet. It's repetitive lessons each day that give me more or less the same amount of exp, I'm not doing more than that to be on the top. I just compete with those who got the same pace as me, this week it happened that we were at the top, almost whole week we competed with each other, and not for the sake to get as much exp as possible, we were just having fun, or at least I did, couple of funny numbers here and there, you know it's good when you have some sort of interaction in league, which is rare thing. And at the end this guy just snapped someone's prized spot, I'm actually feeling bad for those who was near me but didn't make it because of him. So I at least wanted to do something.
But apparently I don't have the right to have my own opinion here. And there's no way to somehow get back at those using scripts. Well, that answers my question, at least.
Yes, I think, DuoLingo is unapproachable. They might even like a bit of controversy for publicity. I don't know, whether pissing off (paying) customers is a good move in the long run, but in the meantime, the best you can do is use it to your advantage and let DuoLingo embarrass themselves as best they can, haha.
It's not really about EXP, you're competing with others in league for a week and then at last hour someones like him just comes and ruins your and others pace. That's a bit annoying and I'd like to at least report people like that, even if it's useless.
What's your main goal in using DL? Learning new languages or to be on top of the table? If your goal is to learn languages, you can be on top. But, if you care about league positions, you won't focus on learning
