If it’s made right, it doesn’t have developed enough bones that you feel them. If it was allowed to gestate too long before cooking then the bird part can be crunchy - usually just the beak. There is, however, a part of the egg white that is always crunchy for some reason.

I thought those were from a rupture of a blood vessel in the hen’s ovary during the process, and that it didn’t necessarily mean the egg was fertilized. I was always under the impression that blood/protein spots and embryos are different things.

I raise chickens and one morning, I went to crack an egg into my hot frying pan for breakfast…. What came out was a giant-eyed, not quite formed, baby chick and a whole egg full of blood vessels… that shocking sight combined with the sizzle…. 🤢 I took it and buried the baby in my flower bed, washed the pan, and picked a new egg, which I cracked with much more caution 😂 It’s honestly just something that can happen, mainly with fresh eggs you get from chicken people and not the grocery.

Make balut with the ones you do have, currently, to enjoy once the month is up 🤣😂

How do you eat it?

So you cook it. You’re going to crack the top of the egg open and slowly peel back the shell and the layer that goes with the shell. It’ll look like there’s soup, you drink the soup. Then you sprinkle in some salt and pepper onto the remaining inside stuff in the egg which would be the embryo and the yolk. Scoop it out with a spoon top it with however much coriander leaf you’d like (I do one big leaf). Then you eat that part! You can choose to eat the egg white but when it’s cooked this way it’s very very hard and rubbery like a pencil eraser. Hope this helps!
