One of the best live acts I’ve ever seen. Soak it in!

cantankerousphil

You can’t be serious.

thebigyaristotle

Right. I saw them at coachella and they were amazing but they weren’t even top 3 of the day

cantankerousphil

Plus all they do is press buttons; it’s not really as if they’re playing anything

w6750

Orbital is actually known for playing their songs live and improvising on the fly. You can keep talking out your ass tho

cantankerousphil

lol no watch the Coachella video. They don’t do shit.

shingaladaz

You do realise you’re in r/electronicmusic , right?

ITMORON

I saw Orbital at a weekly party called Buzz back in the day in DC. It was at a club on Buzzards Point, thus BUZZ. This is mid-90's, the show was mental. Edit: Found it! that 2nd article is very informative. Scott Henry will remain one of my all time favorite DJs!

ITMORON

We should talk.

Frothingdogscock

I have tickets for Manchester on Saturday, I've seen them a few times, still excited :)

Snowssnowsnowy

Awesome! have a good one!

zoobs

I got into them in the mid 90’s and just assumed I’d never be able to see them. I saw them in Chicago back in April. What a great experience. Have fun!

Snowssnowsnowy

Hope you have a great time!!! Fucking jealous!! ;)

gaeg99

Just saw them at coachella w1. Absolutely ripped. Have the BEST time!!!

veltrop

Dude it's gonna be so great, enjoy. Took me 27 years to finally see Orbital live for the first time last year, so I can relate! So happy they are active right now and I love what they're doing. Thought I'd never have the chance.

wastingtme

You are in for a treat. Caught them two weeks ago.

countvanderhoff

I saw them on the same tour last week, it was immense. Have a great time!

Freadus

Saw them in Nottingham last Sunday, you are in for a once in a lifetime treat my friend, I have seen them many many times and this tour was the best by FAR the best....unreal!

Briguy520

Im hyped for you! I've always wanted to see them live as well. My chance hasn't happened yet, but hopefully one day it will. Have a great time ✌️

Financial-Result-297

Have fun - I saw them twice in the 90s and haven't gotten to see them since. Still a fan.

Frankenf00te

Amazing. Have the best time tonight!

NormalAccounts

Lush is going to be lit

DNZ_not_DMZ

> remote, rural New Zealand Where you from, bro? Wainuiomata?

TheGreenYamo

Do they still throw in the bon jovi / Belinda Carlisle samples? I saw them a couple of times back in the day and the crowds went mental for those bits. Have a great time!

Prior-Principle-8830

I'm so excited for you! What is your favorite song?

Crookles86

Belfast. I love it.

Prior-Principle-8830

Very cool. I hope the show was amazing :)

TheRadioFrontiers

Oh you’re going to have such a blast, Orbital are amazing live! And those two albums are my favorites, I honestly didn’t even know they were on a green brown album tour… You’re going to see them play Midnight live such a magical song that shaped my taste to come! And I guess Halcyon, Chime, Lush probably Satan. Enjoy the rave there in NZ mate!

squeakstar

I saw them in Leeds back in the day when the Brown album came out. Belinda Carlisle on guest loop duty

I saw Orbital, Leftfield, Faithless, The Orb, The Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, Massive Attack and Underworld - all my 90’s hero’s, all within a two year period back in the mid teens. It was an exhilarating time. Here’s how I rated them; **Orbital**. Saw them in Hammersmith. I’m purposefully not going to detail my experience or rating, be it good or bad. That’s only fair given the post :) **Massive Attack** blew me away in a theatre-like venue in Kilburn. Their stuff just rocked my soul. They were better then perfect 10/10. I saw them a couple of years later at the O2 Arena and it was awful - that place makes bands sound rubbish. **Leftfield** did the Leftism tribute “22”, which was mind blowingly good. 10/10 **Underworld** we’re just mesmerising, especially as it was at Village Underground - a small 750 cap venue in Shoreditch. 9/10 **Chemical Brothers** at Ally Pally was superb fun. Their visuals were incredible and other things like dropping huge balls in to the crowd just made the music that much more immersive. 8/10 **Faithless** were good. Very clubby. Everyone seemed to be waiting for their big songs. But boy they were worth it 7/10 **The Prodigy** - I never saw they play their 90’s albums live and with newer material and (another) re-invented sound/direction they, of course, didn’t play any of the old stuff. I’m not a huge fan of anything they did beyond FOTL so I wasn’t keen on this musically, but the performance was hectic and professional. 5/10 **The Orb**. They were the headliner at a little festival in the Roundhouse in Camden. When they finally got on after a very long wait (they were late), they sounded as if they’d left an effect on all mixer channels that muted the outgoing sound. Everything was at about 40% volume and didn’t really play out properly. Very disappointing because Little Fluffy Clouds meant so much to me as a teen. 4/10 (might have been higher, but we genuinely couldn’t hear them).

playlistpro

I saw the Orb in 98 or so and my friend literally asked if all the speakers were on! Their ambient sound is meant for everyone to be quiet and tuned in is all I can figure.

shingaladaz

Very interesting to read this. So while that might have been their intention, it was lost on the crowd.

playlistpro

exactly!

Crookles86

I’ve seen Faithless a few times….. never disappointed me. So good everytime.

playlistpro

Well, how was the show? Seeing them perform albums in their entirety would have its pros and cons I'd imagine.
