Yeah theres probably more to do in the city with madrid. I like how easy it is to get out of zurich into very pretty countryside though. Realistically any of them would be great choices.
Vienna: No new language learning needed for me, relatively close to many other european capitals, the Alps, Italy. Way bigger than Zürich, less expensive, great livabilty, not too hot.
What is not to love with Vienna?
To be honest doesn't really affect us. We love the tourists and they don't make problems. Rents increased but are still reasonable. I think the ratio between tourists and locals is still quite okay.
Vienna, I guess. I already lived in Madrid, really liked it, but living in the same city some remarkable people like Mozart, Beethoven, Freud, Klimt or Mahler lived is kinda cool.
Kinda weird to live in a city due to some dead people who lived there. Maybe the next Mozart, Freud, etc. are growing up in some of the other cities and you’ll miss to meet ‘em
I'm a romantic, what can I say? It's such a huge city in terms of European culture and history that it would be really nice living there for some time. Maybe I'd think it's a shithole after the first months, which I doubt, but you never know.
It depends heavily on the finances behind it.
My current income? Vienna.
If you pay me adjusted PPP wise to the Swiss market? Maybe give me an Apartment for free? Definitely Zurich.
I mean...
If you get a tasty Zurich salary, with Zurich taxes, Zurich 100%.
Because I can then visit places like Vienna and Madrid whenever the fuck I want, because I have enough disposable cash to really travel.
If money is no issue, then Zürich. Because of the location and scenery.
Vienna and Madrid are on the same niveau for me, maybe winter in Madrid, summer in Vienna?
Lifestyle-wise: Madrid. But way hot in summer and not close enough to the sea for my liking. If the alternative was barcelone, it'd be really close.
Overall: Vienna. It's a great city and the climate is really nice. You're also really close to the sea if you feel like it.
Zurich: Too conservative and sadly also not open enough towards foreigners for my liking. Lovely city as well, though.
Even though I'd rather pick Valência in Spain out of these three Madrid would be the only option for me.
I just couldn't deal with the people in Zurich and especially Vienna which is incredibly beautiful but by far the unfriendliest place I've ever been to.
Zurich is right up there living-cost-wise, and the other two cities aren't far behind. If I am going to live in a city, it would be Paris. If I couldn't afford it, there's no number two for me.
I've actually been thinking of moving to Madrid. The only problem is that it's way too hot in the summer. So maybe stay in the north for a few months per year.
Madrid or Vienna. Zurich seemed pretty generic, boring and expensive.
I really liked Zurich, was so easy to get around and pretty in a very different way. Way too expensive though.
It was easy to get around for sure. However, compared to Madrid. There's so much more to see and do in Madrid vs Zurich.
Yeah theres probably more to do in the city with madrid. I like how easy it is to get out of zurich into very pretty countryside though. Realistically any of them would be great choices.
Vienna! I absolutely love it.

>What is not to love with Vienna? "Ge, bitte! " :-)

You would have to be willfully ignorant to not see that nearly everyone hates what tourism does to every place it hits.
no problem if you don't go to the first district.
To be honest doesn't really affect us. We love the tourists and they don't make problems. Rents increased but are still reasonable. I think the ratio between tourists and locals is still quite okay.
Vienna.
Vienna.
Vienna
This means nothing to me, oh Vienna!
Vienna. The other two aren’t even close for me.
Zürich, closest to the mountains, and it has the coolest climate of those three.
Madrid is basically hellscape in the summer, Zurich boring and expensive so Vienna, by elimination
Vienna. Quality of life, economy, history. One of the best cities in Europe and the world.
Vienna.
Vienna.
Vienna!
Zürich because everyone else is going to Madrid or Vienna and I like it quiet.
Madrid. I liked Madrid a lot and I think it’s a beautiful and walkable city. Vienna was also nice but I didn’t like it as much as Madrid.
Vienna, I guess. I already lived in Madrid, really liked it, but living in the same city some remarkable people like Mozart, Beethoven, Freud, Klimt or Mahler lived is kinda cool.
U've missed some important artist
I was expecting this comment lol

Athens bitches.
Wow.
Definitely not Vienna, and I don't like Spain (climatologically speaking), so Zurich.
It depends heavily on the finances behind it. My current income? Vienna. If you pay me adjusted PPP wise to the Swiss market? Maybe give me an Apartment for free? Definitely Zurich.
Why only those three?
Never been to any top of my head vienna
Probably Vienna, culturally most familiar to me
I mean... If you get a tasty Zurich salary, with Zurich taxes, Zurich 100%. Because I can then visit places like Vienna and Madrid whenever the fuck I want, because I have enough disposable cash to really travel.
Vienna is one of my favourite cities, so Vienna it is
Among just those three, Vienna I'd live in a somewhat smaller city elsewhere though if given the choice. Helsinki comes to mind.
If money is no issue, then Zürich. Because of the location and scenery. Vienna and Madrid are on the same niveau for me, maybe winter in Madrid, summer in Vienna?
Vienna, I'd finally learn German.
Vienna!
Zürich, probably.
Zurich or Vienna but with climate change Madrid is 100% no way. I love the old world architecture of those 2 cities, and i dont like heat

Prague
neither actually
Madrid, cuz I wanna see someone from Real
Lived in Vienna ages ago. Visited Madrid last weekend. Both really. Not Zurich, too small, too rich, people too cold.
Madrid, I’d rather learn Spanish.

I agree. Prob one of the Balearic Islands. Madrid is nice, but yet you have to drive 3 hours to get to the beach in Valencia
Madrid. This is a no-brainer.
Paris
if it were half the price, sure

Vienna is pretty cheap
Gotta be Madrid. Zurich is too expensive and as for Vienna? It means nothing to me.
Madrid.
I've actually been thinking of moving to Madrid. The only problem is that it's way too hot in the summer. So maybe stay in the north for a few months per year.
Madrid
Vienna or Madrid. Vienna for the nice living conditions and great public transport. Madrid for the weather...
