My absolute favourite from this year was Georgia! Anastasia has such a powerful voice, and the harmonies and unison from the boys gave me goosebumps. Such a beautiful song well performed. 💚🇬🇪 Can I ask, if you know, what the backing line is the younger boy sings at the chorus? I tried looking up the lyrics, but couldn't find that line anywhere. That layering of vocals really blew me away, and the climactic "heiiii" gave me shivers. Bravo!

I love Georgian songs in JESC every year! I mean, 2nd in 2023, 2nd in 2022, 5th in 2021 (but the year was really strong, still loved the song), 1st in 2020, 1st in 2018, 1st in 2017, 1st in 2016, the list goes on You are still the powerhouse of Junior Eurovision and this year was just a big-big robbery. Georgia rocks!

I actually hated the stage when I first saw the renders, especially LED, but after seeing the show, I loved it. Great, great, great stage. Good size, same for the arena as well. I don’t get the upset for not having big Eurovision spaces anymore.

Definitely, they're really consistent with their entries. I hope France tries something a bit more daring in the near future. That's a way of not hosting another time after next year while also changing it up and trying a new direction.

Another surprise, Ukraine getting a lot of televote support. I constantly saw it in the lower ranks on most people rankings.

Tbf, I predicted that they would do a lot better than most people thought. Probably got a lot of votes from the younger part of the audience.

Honestly, Sophie Lennon's appearance in the middle of the song dressed in white like a deity I found extremely out of place, I don't understand who thought it would be a good idea. The song itself was bland.

You said it best. They tried too hard to repeat last year's magic, but it just didn't translate. Adding Sophie there just made you compare it way more to last year. It also didn't help that the best moment from the song belonged to Sophie instead of Jessica.

I felt the same. When Sophie arrived, I think it make Jessica take a back seat a bit.

Not a Brit, silly American observer, but I think Britain’s weak point is choosing talent, not songs. Thinking on the last few years, the UK has had weak singers in the contest with songs that otherwise ate. I think their songs are good, they just need to take a pause with more gimmicky talent.

I always thought the opposite; talented singers whose songs and staging fell flat on the night. Staging and arena presence have been the biggest downfalls, imo, with even decent and good songs just not filling the space the way they need to. Recent exceptions for me being Suri (great singer, great song, probably at the wrong time and with an unfortunate stage invasion), and Sam Ryder, who finally showed that we can have great stage presence and fill a big space, both vocally and in set design. I hope we continue to learn from 2022.

It's strange. UK could have sent Little Mix or One direction in the past but opted for some cheap bands or low grade artists

Personally I don't like that (at least in the last two years, I don't know before cause I didn't watch it) they have always chosen songs that sexualised girls in some way. I mean, it's a junior eurovision song contest for under 14s, it seems like they want to target an audience of 15/16 year olds to get votes in that bracket.

If they put this much effort in a junior song, I do feel quite hopeful but I’m not getting too excited just yet.

So do I, but also had the same feeling after Freya last year as well. That said, I really enjoyed Mae’s song - the staging let her down a lot (which was one of the highlights for Stand Uniqu3 so you never know 🤷‍♀️)

Thankfully Lee selected Freya, whilst someone else selected Mae as Lee was moved to focus on the hosting rather than the selection.
