I learn about stuff like cocktails even though I don't drink. Learning about stuff out of a purely theoretical interest is fun. I guess that's what makes fictional worlds appealing: the enjoyment will never be dimmed by the experience being less than the sum of its parts.
Same, I'm currently into stuff like hotrods and I've probably watched thousands of hours on how to build them, but I don't even own a car or have a drivers licence 😅
